Vávrů, Tereza ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (advisor) ; Kleňhová, Michaela (referee)
Analysis of the secondary education in the Vysočina Region in context of demographic development Abstract The aim of this thesis is to show the link between the demographic development and the development of the educational system, particularly on the example of the demographic development of the Vysočina Region and its impact on the secondary education in this region. The Vysočina Region was chosen because it is characterized by numerous specifics that distinguish it from other regions (e.g. a large number of small municipalities, rural and traditional characteristics of the region and lower education attainment of the population). Firstly, the current demographic development of the region is evaluated, secondly the development of the educational system is evaluated in its context. Afterwards, we examine the development of the number of secondary schools, the structure of their fields of education and their territorial distribution in the region. We also evaluate the current capacity of the secondary schools. The core of the analysis is the creation of derived forecast of the number of pupils in the various districts of the region through the use of rates of participation in secondary education in the districts. Because the estimate is carried out at the district level, it is possible to take into account...
Analysis of Secondary School Pupils' Knowledge and the Interpretation of Evolutionary Biology by Teachers in the Czech Republic, England and Scotland
Hlaváčová, Lucie ; Teodoridis, Vasilis (advisor) ; Králík, Miroslav (referee) ; Švecová, Milada (referee)
An evolution is considered the single greatest unifying theory in biology. Therefore, evolution is a crucial topic from the perspective of didactics of biology because it reaches contemporary paradigm of science education. These doctoral thesis deals with the educative aspects in the field of evolutionary biology. Given the fact that educational content and understanding of causal patterns in science may be influenced by the sociocultural background, the whole research is carried out in comparison with Great Britain. The main aim of the thesis is carried out three successive analyzes. First, the occurrence and the content of definitions of evolutionary terms in Czech and British science or biology textbooks have been compared (16 Czech and 16 British textbooks). Data were evaluated using content analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. Subsequently, a comparison of teaching evolution has been made using a questionnaire survey (350 Czech and 122 British teachers) and interviews (10 Czech and 7 British teachers). Finally, a comparison of the Czech and British pupils' knowledge and opinions on specific evolutionary topics were obtained via a questionnaire (964 Czech and 97 British pupils). Statistically significant differences between Czech and British respondents were verified by Chi-square test...

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Science Chemistry Education Attitude of Students to Study Chemistry at the Different Types of Secondary Schools Author: Mgr. Miloš Halúzka Supervisor: Mgr. Jiří Šibor, Ph.D. Prague 2015 2 Abstract In the theoretical part, author quotes technical literature which describes the effects specifying the access of students to study and he estimates expressions of individual effects in real teaching practice in chemistry lessons. Author describes the difference between students studying secondary vocational school and students from apprentice school with regard to absence. Author also illustrates the crucial influence of family background on the example of educational achievements of one student in 8 past years. Furthermore, the teoretical part summarizes the various influences that participates in the access of students to the school subject of chemistry, recommended approaches and didactic methods. There is also defined the issue of cousework as a project teaching method. Everything is evaluated in the context of conditions prevailing on the different types of secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Is describing the position of the general courses at the apprentice school on a small sample of teachers. The teoretical part is devoted to different approach of different...
Teachers' premedical first-aid knowledges researched at selected secondary schools
Hůlová, Lenka ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Váchová, Alena (referee)
This thesis Teachers' premedical first-aid knowledges researched at selected secondary schools deals with basic rules and procedures related to the pre-medical first aid. The major problem of the research is to carry out a survey based on questionnaires which are supposed to demonstrate what the teachers' level of knowledge regarding the pre-medical first aid at various types of secondary schools is (comprehensive school, secondary medical school, secondary technical school, and secondary business school) and to compare the results. Furthermore, the thesis endeavours to elaborate appropriate solution for particular schools on the basis of the results. The theoretical part is devoted to current pre-medical first aid procedures applied to particular types of injuries. The primary method of the theoretical part is the study of scientific literature, articles published in specialized magazines, and credible Internet sources. The practical part is elaborated on the basis of the results gathered by means of questionnaires distributed among selected secondary schools. This part incorporates statistical and graphical representation of the results consequent upon the research, and in addition suggestion for solutions at selected secondary schools.
Creation and validation of chemistry worksheets for lower grades students of grammar school
Tříska, Jan ; Hybelbauerová, Simona (advisor) ; Teplá, Milada (referee)
Inclusion of learning exercises intended to acquisition of schoolwork is desirable in majority of science subjects. This diploma thesis deals with creation of chemistry worksheets for 8th and 9th grade pupils of secondary school and forpupils of corresponding grades of lower grammar schools. Research of contemporary literature mostly chosen workbooks and worksheets available on the Internet isincluded in the thesis. The main part of the thesis was creation of worksheets on diferent themes in chemisty education according to RVP ZV. Created worksheets were verified and evaluated at schools. The thesis brings new possibilities how to deal with teaching some of the chemistry topics using pre-prepared worksheets, which contain mostly exercises for acquiring new schoolwork.

Šafránková, Magdalena ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Gabrhelík, Roman (referee)
The objective of my thesis is to deepen and expand research on my thesis I tried to prove or disprove the link between social status in the classroom and student use of cannabis. For research, I chose a sample of 21 students cook waiter field. In my thesis expand my research, because I want to prove whether the result is unique to college or is a general phenomenon among high school students. For the purposes of my research, I added one class schools, two gymnazium school classes, because this children are considered elite, and finally two classes of business school and for this reason that this type of education is visited the largest number of students. In my research I used combination od three methods. sociometric research, selected questions from the ESPAD questionnaire and interviews with selected students. Based on the research showed that the visible difference in the relation between social status and cannabis use at each school. The largest is in the school and the smallest is in the gymnazium.. This fact seems to me very interesting and I think that the fact this could work to solve this serious problem. In the theoretical part explains how to use the above methods, the effects and the influence of cannabis on humans. Keywords: Sociometry - cannabis - the status of the student -...
Chemistry education at secondary schools of civil engineering in the Czech Republic
Dvořák, Martin
Title Chemistry education at secondary schools of civil engineering in the Czech Republic Abstract The goal of this work is to evaluate the chemistry education at secondary schools of civil engineering in the Czech Republic, which provide education of four-year study programs with school leaving exam. At first, question form of data gathering was used at the part of these schools. The general goal was narrowed by analyzing the answers of a questionnaire and the next work was concentrated on creating a study material containing themes of the chemistry of building materials. This material was used during the period of its creation and was modified due to the reactions of the students. The material was then extended with themes of general, inorganic, organic chemistry and biochemistry. The learning material was extended to the form of practice book, which has been used as a main educational tool for the chemistry education. The learning material was evaluated by theoretical methodology and by anonymous questionnaire filled by students. The objective evaluation of the impact of the learning material on the school grades was analyzed through five years. Key words Chemistry of building materials, secondary schools, learning material, workbook.
