New South District and its Connection to Svratka
Čech, Richard ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis is based on the urban design of a selected part of the South Quarter, which was the subject of a pre-diploma thesis in 2018, whose main concept was to use the potential of the flowing river Svratka to define the borders of the "Brno Island" by creating a water canal around the perimeter of the area. Water creates the boundary between city ties and the island, which provides a unique opportunity to create architecturally interesting buildings and create an interesting environment for life with almost direct contact with water in the center of Brno. The thesis deals with the architectural study of the selected block of the "Brno Island". It is an apartment building with rentable space in the parterre. The main architectural concept consists in transforming the natural form of the river bay into an architecturally formulated mass that creates a unique living environment. The character of the parterre resembles the stone coast on which the dwelling is built, which is not trying to compete with this environment, nor to thematise itself, but fit into such a conceived landscape.
Caspar David Friedrich and Romantic Aesthetics of Nature
PROCHÁZKOVÁ, Adéla
The aim of this work is to describe the aesthetic evaluation of nature in the period of (Early) Romanticism on the example of works by Caspar David Friedrich. Romantic painting of landscape, interpretation of motifs and personality of German painter are emphasized in this bachelor thesis. There will be selected works of C. D. Friedrich with a focus on motive of the stone and melancholy. Also the theoretical discourse about category of sublime will not be left aside. The main point of thesis will be stone/rock, which has to be confronted with natural science. We can find the stone in many Friedrichs pictures, whether in the form of megalithic buildings or rocks, and ultimately is the basis of the ruins. The conclusion of the thesis is the comparison the symbolism of rocks and megaliths with the symbolism of ruins.

In the theoretical part is described the problems and the systematicity of diagnostic methods for masonry structures. The practical part focuses on the processing and evaluation of the diagnostic survey, which results in determining the material properties of the structural elements.
Algicidal properties nanofibrous fabrics doped by metals
Ryparová, Pavla ; Wasserbauer, R. ; Rácová, Z. ; Demo, Pavel ; Tesárek, Pavel
The paper presents a novel protection against algae by nanofiber fabrics doped with metal ions. Nanofiber textiles were prepared by electrospinning on the Nanospider LB 500 device, equipped with cylindrical electrodes of a length 600 mm and electrode distance about 140 mm. The produced nanofiber textiles had a specific weight between 2 and 4 g/m2. The entire surface was covered with algae commonly accompanied by bacteria. The sample had placed in the middle of circular dishes having the diameter 20 mm. The cultivation took place at light environment in common laboratory conditions. Algicidal effect was evaluated as the resulting halo size and quality around the sample. The PVA treated sample had not produce any halo effect, unlike the samples with the addition of metal salts (AgNO3, CuSO4 center dot 5H(2)O) that exhibited the halo effect dependent on the concentration the salts, usually ranging from 0.3-2 mm, giving the evidence about their algicidal properties.\n
Settlement of Bohemian Paradise in the Period of Lusatian Urn Fields
Žilincová, Lucia ; Chvojka, Ondřej (advisor) ; Juchelka, Jiří (referee) ; Novák, Miroslav (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of arts Institute of Prehistory and Early History Lucia Žilincová SETTLEMENT OF BOHEMIAN PARADISE IN THE PERIOD OF LUSATIAN URN FIELDS Dissertation thesis Summary: The main aim of my dissertation thesis is to contribute to better understanding of the Bohemian Paradise settlement in the Lusatian urn fields period and its relation and contacts to the neighbouring areas. The basic source is archaeological material from seven cemeteries (Sovenice /bez. Mladá Boleslav/, Sovenice /bez. Nymburk/, Svijany, Svijanský Újezd, Koryta, Březina, Příšovice) and two settlements of the Lusatian culture (Turnov-Maškovy zahrady, Svijany). Its analysis is basis for enrichement knowledge of Lusatian material culture and its clue for completing of missing elements in chronological development. Inevitable part of this work is substitution of these localities to the Bomemian Paradise frame and classification in the wider space of this culture widespreading. On the base of acquired knowledge I will try to solve the question of possibility for comparation of the settlement and burial material of Lusatian culture. 2016

Zavadil, Tomáš ; Mrázek, Jiří (advisor) ; Roskovec, Jan (referee)
Title: Psalm 118 in The New Testament Author: Tomáš Zavadil Department: Department of The New Testament Supervisor: doc. Jiří Mrázek, Th.D. Abstract: The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the usage of the Psalm 118 in The New Testament. The thesis consists of several parts; first, I give a list of all quotations and allusions of the psalm in The New Testament according to the edition Nestle-Aland. Next, I show links between the texts, describe how the original text enriches the meaning of the new contexts and how the intertextuality can be used in biblistic research. In contrast to traditional approach I emphasize the contribution of one-word allusions. I'm also trying to offer historical background of the Psalm and show its use in liturgy, especially in the context of the first century; as the Psalm was one of the most favourite Psalms. The following part of my work gives brief explanations of the passages in The New Testament where their authors quote or refer to the the Psalm 118. I focus especially on pericopes Mk 11,1-11 and Mk 12,1-12, where I analyze the allusions of the Psalm 118 in detail. The conclusion summarizes all findings of this exegetic work. Key words: quotation, allusion, Psalm 118, The New Testament, Jesus, Messiah, king, salvation, stone, feasts, intertextuallity
Ravennate Marble Trade in the Late Antiquity: Material from the San Severo Complex
Tůmová, Helena ; Ondřejová, Iva (advisor) ; Bouzek, Jan (referee) ; Cantini, Federico (referee)
This thesis aims to study the commercial mechanism of Ravenna in the Late Antiquity from the point of view of the amount, type and provenance of the imported stone artefacts (fragments of architectural decoration, revetments slabs, opus sectile, sarcophagi), based on the study of archaeological material from the site of the basilica and the monastery of San Severo in Classe (Ravenna). Ravenna represented an important administrative and cultural center in the 5th and 6th century, connecting western and eastern artistic influences and focusing herself on trade and production. Determination of the stone artefacts from the San Severo locality was principally based on the archaeometric methods and on the combination of archaeologic and geologic approach as well. Specific archaeometric methods (macroscopic, geochemical and mineralogical-petrographic analyses) together with a quantitative evaluation were applied. Many scientific works, dedicated till this time to the art history of late antique Ravenna and dealing also the argument of ravennate "marbles" presumed the prevailing provenance from Proconnesos and usual commercial relations between Ravenna and Constantinople as well. Constantinople played a role of a mediator of oriental localities and Ravenna. The hypothesis concerning the provenance of the...
The Peak and the Territory
Mlynarčík, Štefan ; Smetana, Matěj (referee) ; Rathouský, Luděk (advisor)
The thesis is focused on symbolic revision of altitudes and border points of Tatra peaks. The subtle gesture disturbs exact and unambiguous textbook perception of a peak´s height. The thesis is happening on the given summits, the material used on their „growth“ and „transfer“ originates exclusively from immediate surroundings. The period of new summit´s existence is exposed to various weather conditions, eventualy to human factor, thus we can consider it as undetermined in terms of time. The issue consists of 5 video documentations of actions on the given Tatra peaks. The thesis is not exhausted by this. On the contrary, it promises spontaneous long-termed continuation.
Diamond wheels and their use in the stone industry
Skryja, Jan ; Kolář, Ladislav (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with stone sawing during stone processing. It is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part diamond blades, the sawing process and stone extraction are described. The practical part is focused on the wear of circular saws in granite circular sawing. The wear is determined for two diamond cutting blades made by different manufacturers and is determined by the blade weight loss and segments height loss as a function of time. Both measured values show linear dependence. The results are the basis for a future comparison of the two diamond blades on the economic side, which is not the subject of this work.
