Cílem práce je přiblížit estetické hodnocení přírody v období (pre)romantismu na příkladu děl Caspara Davida Friedricha. Důraz bude kladen na romantickou krajinomalbu, výklad motivů a osobnost německého malíře. Jedná se o vybraná díla C. D. Friedricha se zaměřením na motivy kamene a melancholie. Stranou nezůstane ani teoretický diskurz o kategorii vznešeného. Stěžejním bodem práce bude kámen/hornina, jenž je nutno konfrontovat v rámci přírodní vědy. Kámen se hojně v díle vyskytuje ať už v podobě megalitických staveb nebo skal a nakonec je základem také ruin. Závěrem práce je porovnání symboliky skal a megalitů se symbolikou zřícenin. The aim of this work is to describe the aesthetic evaluation of nature in the period of (Early) Romanticism on the example of works by Caspar David Friedrich. Romantic painting of landscape, interpretation of motifs and personality of German painter are emphasized in this bachelor thesis. There will be selected works of C. D. Friedrich with a focus on motive of the stone and melancholy. Also the theoretical discourse about category of sublime will not be left aside. The main point of thesis will be stone/rock, which has to be confronted with natural science. We can find the stone in many Friedrichs pictures, whether in the form of megalithic buildings or rocks, and ultimately is the basis of the ruins. The conclusion of the thesis is the comparison the symbolism of rocks and megaliths with the symbolism of ruins.
