Title of bachelor work: The specifics of adolescence of the children with Down syndrome from their parents view Abstract The bachelor thesis called The specifics of adolescence of the children with Down syndrome from their parents view deals with the term Down syndrome, its origin and forms. The thesis concentrates in the behavior of the teen age children with Down syndrome. The thesis also touch the problem of sexual abuse of the mentally handicapped children, e.g. also children with the Down syndrome and the problem of the becoming independent of these children. The practical demonstrations show the worries of mothers of the children with Down syndrome and how the worries grow up with children age.
Lifelong education of persons with mental disabilities

This thesis deals with the specifics of the lifelong education of persons with mental disabilities. The work consists of theoretical and practical parts. Thesis is mainly based on professional literature, laws and regulations Czech Republic and Internet resources. The first chapter deals with the explaning of the concept of mental retardation, its classification, etiology, and psychological traits of these people. The second chapter describes the system of education people with mental disability in the Czech Republic and activities of special education centers and of early care centers. The next chapter is devoted to lifelong learning, Chapter describes general lifelong learning and lifelong learning of people with mental disability, brief history of lifelong education of persons with mental disabilities in the Czech Republic and didactic principles of education for this group and example of this education are also describe in this chapter. Fourth part deals with empirical research. Research is about learning opportunities of adults with mental disabilities in the regional capital Liberec.
Respite Services for People with Autism and Mental Retardation - Availability in Regions

This diploma thesis deals with respite service and issues with providing respite services to parents of children and adults with autism and mental retardation. The opening chapters focus on autistic spectrum disorder in combination with mental retardation and potential challenging behaviour. This work describes therapeutic process for persons with autism and mental retardation and it also describes the issues with providing social service to these persons. This thesis focuses mainly on respite services. The empirical part describes the availability of respite services for families with autistic person and mental retardation in the Czech Republic.
Needs of persons with disabilities and their close persons during hospitalisation

Experience of patients with disabilities and their close persons during hospitalisation demonstrates insufficient understanding to the needs of such people. This issue is also discussed in foreign literature, wherein the need to establish the position of a specialized worker who knows very well the conditions of the health care facility and the needs of people with disabilities is emphasized. The objective of this thesis is to point out the complex issue of the needs of people with learning disability and their close persons during hospitalisation. Hospitalisation itself is a difficult and demanding situation in any person's life. For persons with learning disability, this situation is even more serious. The thesis aims at describing the experience of persons with learning disability so that it may serve as the basis for improving their health care.
Personality development of students by art activities at two-years practical school

This thesis tries to understand and to have a better insight into adolescence and it is interested in options of forming personality of a young person with a mental disability. Based on the qualitative research, it tries to describe the development of personality particular aspects in the group of people in a two-year practical school. Sub themes of personality development are elaborated on the basis of cross-section theme Personality and social education in art lessons, where they are using the benefit of the art work, feeling and reflection as a formative element by creating self-identity in the behavioral-educational process. Thesis describes ways, which simplify the self-knowledge, strengthen the self-concept, operate in the area of psycho-hygiene and help to reveal the hidden potentials, which specify and focus the life course of a young person with a mental disability on the edge of adulthood. Integrative education of pupil with mental retardation - case study

The target of the bachelor's thesis is to chart the process of the integrated education of the pupil with special educational needs or rather a child with mental retardation.The theoretical part of the thesis limits the terms of mental retardation,its classification,legislative framework for education of the pupils with mental retardation. The practical part of the thesis is focused on proccesing of study - casuistry of a pupil.Describing the process of education on the base of individual integration. In process of casuistry were used the methods of qualitative research which means observation,interview and the analysis of the pedagogical documentation of the pupil. The goal of my thesis is to introduce professionals concerned with special educational or art with the art techniques with elements of art which are suitable for individuals with mental disabilities. In the theoretical part, I looked at the themes: Children's creative expression, Special art, Art Therapy, Symbols in art therapy, Goals of art therapy, Art Therapy techniques, Mental ratardacion In the practical part I have to invent an individual training - methodology for working with mentally handicapped and implement various activities with elements of visual art.
