The results indicate that the identified factors are identical with QWL mentioned by individual authors and institutions. The following factors were identified: absence of stress, interpersonal relationships in the workplace, support from the organization, evaluation of work, working environment. The positively evaluated factors include good relations in the workplace, need and utility of service, and self-actualization. The problematic working factors are financial conditions, obligations arising from the legislative framework, uncertainty about the sustainability of services, view of society and the low level of spatial facilities. The findings might become a contribution for organizations providing social services, be useful in easier implementation and support QWL factors, feelings of well-being at work, for selection of employees,...
Possibilities of evaluating changes by women during the period of menopause and their effects on the quality of life
BELEŠOVÁ, Romana
Menopause is a period, which is perceived as a natural part of female lifecycle. The way how women experience this period is individual, it differs in the intensity of the experience which is influenced by a variety of factors. Among the most important factors belong the biological as well as genetic factors, lifestyle, family environment, relationships between people, job as well as ethnical and cultural influences. The above-mentioned factors contribute to the occurrence of symptoms and changes connected in the life of a female. Standardised tools that are used and helpful in the clinical practice should be reliable, sensitive, and specific to certain symptoms. The objective of this doctoral theses is to map the use of evaluating tools with women in the period of menopause, to analyse symptoms influencing the quality of life, to create educational program for women and to find out if education has an impact on the knowledge of women on the menopause issues. The research was carried out in combination of two research methods - quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative research was designed as a descriptive cross-sectional study. The design of the descriptive qualitative study was used for the qualitative research. For the methodology of the qualitative research the Standards for qualitative research were applied. For the quantitative research a research sample I was set up. It was composed of women with a permanent residence in the southbohemian region in the ages of 45-65. For these respondents three types of questionnaires were designed, the standardised WHOQOL-BREF, WHQ and the unstandardised questionnaire. The data analyses were executed via SASD programmes (Statistical data analyses) and SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The qualitative research was realised in two phases. The first part of the research was carried out before the educational programme was realised and the second part took place 3 month after finishing the educational programme. For the purposes of the qualitative research analyses elements of embedded theory using open and axial coding were applied. There were two research samples that were subject to the qualitative study. The research sample II was composed of women in the ages 45-55. The research sample III composed of midwives working in the primary care. In midwifery in the clinical practice no measuring tools are used to evaluate the quality of life and health of women in menopause. Nowadays the evaluating scales are applied in research studies rather than in the clinical practice. In our quantitative study women evaluated the quality of life primarily as good. While evaluating the individual domains via the WHOQOL-BREF tool, women rated their physical condition the best and on the contrary the environment they live in the worst. When qualifying their health condition based on comparison of individual dimensions using the standardised WHQ tool, women mentioned the vasomotor symptoms as bothering and on the contrary, they rated anxieties/worries as not so bothering. In the qualitative part of the research women qualified the following symptoms as the most frequent: hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, corrupted sleep, gaining weight, mental and cognitive changes. Conclusion: In the framework of the study based on the results an educational brochure for women was created. The aim of this brochure is to provide information about the problematic of the menopause period, about the symptoms, about the diagnostics, about the therapy and about the regime precautions. At the same time as a part of the research an educational programme for women was prepared. This programme focused on climacteric symptoms, diagnoses, therapy and the use of regime precautions leading to relief from the menopause difficulties. In this field, midwives still play a significant role. Midwives should lead women to accept the positive approach to the issues of menopause period.

Rizikyová, Tímea ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Kopsa Těšinová, Jolana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to provide the reader with a comprehensive view of institutional developments in the area of mental health policy in the two compared countries - the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These countries have a long history, and their health policies were based on the same foundations. This determined their different direction also in the area of mental health policies, the effective setting of which is today more important than ever before. The available global and national statistics point to alarming numbers in the area of mental illness, lack of staff and capacity and insufficient financial resources devoted to this area. Based on historical institutionalism and its concepts, I present identification of the reasons why both countries stagnated in the area of mental health policies for a long time and what were the critical junctures behind the change of institutional settings of mental health care policies to their present form. In the final part of the thesis, I compare these political settings, I identify the main similarities and differences, and also, I formulate the most problematic areas of the current mental health care systems. Hrabcová, Tereza ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Hrkal, Jakub (referee)
Factors affecting prevalence of physical fuctional limitation among European population Abstract Walking difficulties have a major impact on everyday life. Therefore, the main objective of this thesis was to find factors that influence the prevalence of walking limitations. It also dealt with the impact of walking limitations on quality of life and how the prevalence of these health problems varies across European populations. binary logistic regression, which was the main statistical method, involved respondents aged 25 years and older who participated in the EHIS study in 2019. All sociodemographic, lifestyle, and health factors examined appeared to be risk factors, except neck disorders, which became protective in the final model. No significant differences were found between the genders. It was also found that the most risky factors that influenced quality of life analyzed using self-rated health assessment and the appereance of depressive symptoms were confirmed walking limitations, together with pain and depressive symptoms. Based on age-standardized prevalence rates of walking limitations and healthy life years without walking limitations, Europe was found to be polarized into Western and Eastern countries, with populations in Eastern countries burdened by walking difficulties significantly more than...
The impact of social media on social participation and quality of life of the elderly in the Czech Republic
Přiklopilová, Jana ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Schneiderová, Soňa (referee)
The Czech population is ageing, and the number of seniors continues to grow year on year. At the same time, the number of working seniors, who currently make up one tenth of the Czech workforce, is increasing. There is also a decline in the number of extended family structures, which more often provide the necessary social network and support, compared to narrower nuclear family types. That is not the only reason why there is an increase in the number of lonely seniors, who are isolated from the world and social relations and who stop participating in social activities. It is estimated that one in three seniors across the globe struggles with loneliness. With the advent of modern information technology, the question arises whether virtual contact can help to address the issue of loneliness and improve the social participation of seniors. The aim of this thesis was to provide a deeper insight into the situation in the Czech Republic, outlining potential benefits and risks as well as possible barriers for this demographic group. This research found that Czech seniors use social media not only to maintain relationships with their family and friends, but also to broaden their horizons in the field of hobbies and take an active interest in current and political events. Social media can thus be a tool...

The thesis focuses on the quality of life of people with hearing impairment acquired in adulthood. The objective of the thesis corresponds to the title, i.e. to study the effect of acquired hearing impairment on the subjective perception of quality of life. The first part of the thesis presents a theoretical elaboration on the subject based on a study of the literature focusing on hearing impairment and quality of life. The second part of the thesis contains the research itself. The research sample was intentionally defined as very diverse, which allows indicating the broad scope of the topic under study and identifying common aspects. The research questions are focused on sub-topics, such as what is the subjective perception of quality of life in the context of age or general health, what are the informants' personal experiences with compensatory aids, or what areas of quality of life are most affected by hearing impairment. The elaboration of the topic is based on a qualitative analysis of information obtained from a questionnaire survey and semi-structured personal interviews, which are processed in the form of case studies. The results of the research indicate some surprising conclusions: for example, it is possible to assume that the acquired hearing impairment, while affecting the informants'...
