Evaluation of the benefits of the primary prevention program Nevypusť duši for its participants

The diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of the primary preventive programme Duševní zdravověda, which deals with mental health issues and is implemented in secondary schools. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness and benefit of this programme for its participants. Another aim was also to find out if variables such as gender, age and experience with mental illness of the respondents can influence their attitudes towards mental health. In the theoretical part of the thesis are defined mental health and illness, primary prevention and the current state of school primary prevention in the field of mental health are also defined. Also identified are protective factors that primary prevention programs dealing with mental health should support. Principles of effective primary prevention programmes and examples of proven mental health prevention programmes are presented. The preventive programme Duševní zdravověda and the non-profit organization Nevypusť duši, which implements it, are described here. The research group consist of 1898 respondents (1655 respondents from the experimental group and 243 from the control group). Experience of peer workers in the field of mental health care

The aim of our thesis is to describe and gain the best possible understanding of the experience of peer consultants in the field of mental health care. Additionally, it involves identifying essential phenomena that may arise during their mentioned experiences and carry stimuli suitable for further analysis. For these reasons, we chose a qualitative approach in conducting our research. Specifically, we opted for Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, which allows for a detailed focus on the form of experience of individual respondents and its nuances. The respondents consisted of three adult women and two adult men aged between 26 and 56. Each of them is employed as a peer consultant in either health or social services. We gathered data through semi- structured interviews, analyzing it on two levels. Firstly, we outlined and analyzed the experience of each respondent and its specific details. Secondly, we conducted an analysis of the themes that were common among the respondents, yet held analytical potential in relation to the studied phenomenon. Social networks and youth mental health care

Perceiving the world from the perspective of the present and adapting to it represents the continuum of life. The aim of the graduate thesis is to analyse the mainly communicated topics on mental health on selected social networks and to examine social networks from the point of view of e-social work. The theoretical part characterizes social networks in general, discusses the relationship of social networks with mental health problems of young people and individually discusses the pitfalls that the use of social networks brings with it. Furthermore, the research offers insight into the characteristics of young people's mental health problems, deals with them from a contemporary perspective, and connects them with the specific social networks. The subchapter of social work determines need of e-social work and its possibilities. The end of the theoretical part looks at social identity and the need for community in the life of adolescence. Framing of mental illness in selected Czech media

This thesis focuses on the framing of mental illness in the Czech media. It defines the concept of framing and presents the characteristics, process and effects of framing. Simultaneously, the thesis discusses the concept of mental illness and its categorisation in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). The focus is on the state of mental illness in the Czech Republic. Subsequently, prominent research papers dealing with the framing of mental illness are presented. The aim of the quantitative content analysis of this thesis is to find out how Czech daily newspapers framed mental illness in the years 2018, 2020, 2022. The analysis focuses on which illnesses are mentioned, how the mentally ill are presented, how the media frame the causes and solutions of mental illness, and which sources journalists quote. The results show that stigmatising stories are the most common and that journalists tend to use episodic framing. The most cited illnesses were depression and drug addiction, and very often journalists did not specify the exact diagnosis at all.
The influence of social networks on the idea of ​​a healthy lifestyle among young girls

Michaela Soukupová Title: The influence of social networks on the idea of a healthy lifestyle among young girls Objectives: The main goal of the thesis is to find out and then describe how social networks influence young girls in selected factors of a healthy lifestyle. The secondary goal of the thesis is to find out what is the positive and negative influence of social networks on selected lifestyle factors among young girls. Methods: A quantitative research method (internet questionnaire) was chosen for the thesis due to a broader focus and the need for more respondents, combined with a qualitative method (semi-structured interview). 50 female respondents aged 15-18 took part in the internet questionnaire, a 17-year-old minor and an 18-year-old adult took part in the semi-structured interview. The survey was created in the Survio program and placed on the social networks Instagram and Facebook. The interview took place online via the Skype platform. Results: 50 respondents aged 15-18 participated in the questionnaire and 2 girls aged 17 and 18 were involved in the semi-structured interview. The effect of social contact loss due to COVID-19 pandemic restrctions on physical activity level of the university students

Title: The effect of social contact loss due to COVID 19 pandemic restrictions on physical activity level of the university students. Objectives: The main aim of this work was to examine the evolution of physical activity and contact loss of the university students in Czech republic during the pandemic COVID -19. Methods: Quantitative type of research using the reach technique of the questionnaire, which was made by research team of experts in psychology and sociology from several universities in Czech Republic, under the auspices of the Czech konference of rectors and the council of the universities. The research group consisted 4 426 respondents - active students of czech universities. Results: The physical activity and the social contact have significant influence on quality of life of each person. COVID - 19 pandemic has affected them greatly. Respondents show, that during the pandemic there was a decrease in the regularity of physical activity. The most significat diferences were recorded during the winter semestre 2020/21, when the second wave of the pandemic was taking place. Engaging Peer Consultants in the Mental Health Care in the Context of Psychiatric Care Reform in the Czech Republic

The thesis deals with the issue of the current involvement of peer consultants in the care of mentally ill people in the context of identifying their specific needs. The aim of the thesis is to identify the benefits of employing peer consultants for themselves and for the social and health care system of mental health care. At the same time, the thesis aims to identify possible barriers or challenges that arise in the practice of peer consultant work, as well as in their employment. The author uses the concept of recovery and implementation theory to theoretically and conceptually anchor the thesis. Through the perspective of experts working in the field and peer consultants, the thesis provides a mapping of the benefits of the peer consultant role and an overview of their specific needs. At the same time, the author identifies the existence of significant barriers in the current set-up of the system of peer consultant involvement, which are mainly caused by the legislative non-anchoring of their position. The author concludes with recommendations for the future development of peer consultant involvement.
