Comparison of parents' post-divorce standard of living in relation to social construction of target populations

This diploma thesis deals with social policy towards single-parent families in the Czech Republic with focus on alimony policy. I deal more closely with the standard of living by single-parent families and obligated parents. This problem is explored on the basis of theoretical framework called social construction of the target populations. Social policy towards single-parent families does not reflect their needs at the right time. Different approach could lead to improvement of their standard of living. The Czech society has not come with an agreement on reforming the social system to more benefit the single-parent families. Despite the fact that the concept of supporting single-parent families has been formally accepted by European Union and Czech government as one of the top priorities, this proclamation has not brought any real change to the single-parent families` standard of living. I try to understand a present situation/image of social policy towards single-parent families in regard to alimony policy with an application of theoretical framework social construction of the target population basis. The Personalities of the journalists - seniors in Prague

The thesis The Personalities of the journalists - seniors in Prague intends to cover several subjects. It does not relate to present activities and opinions of the journalists - seniors only. In the first part the thesis focuses on description of the living standards of journalists at the times of so-called period of normalisation, when todays journalists - seniors were economically active. The main emphasis of the description is on the role of the Czechoslovak Union of Journalists. The thesis describes individual segments that union has affected its members through and where it provided benefits and support (abroad recreation, recreation, spa treatment, assistance in solving residential state, language courses). Materials from the Syndicate of Journalists Archive fund are used as the main source of knowledge. The essence of the second part of the thesis are standardized interviews with particular journalists - seniors. The evaluation of their answers complements the findings from the first part and adds some more findings from journalists everydayness in 70s and 80s and the role of the Czechoslovak Union of Journalists in relation to its members. The effect of minimum wage and social unemployment benefits on motivation to occupation

Presented dissertation analysis to what extent is motivation to occupation affected by minimum wage and by State system of social help. It focuses on very controversial topic of today's society and that is if current rate of minimum wage is sufficient for people to pay off or if it is discouraging them to search for a new job so people then prefer to draw the social benefits rather than working. The dissertation illustrates definition of minimum wage and its development in the Czech Republic, furthermore it deals with the function of minimum wage and especially with its influence on motivation to work and its consequences on an employment. It also contains how and in what amount the minimum wage set down in European Union is. In the contrast the dissertation handles the theory of welfare state and social system in the Czech Republic, it contains scope of social benefits which are in the Czech Republic provided during unemployment or to people with low income. Measuring of Living Standards and Quality of Life

Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of standards of living and quality of life. Both of these concepts are defined and characterized in the performed research of literature. Further the possibilities of standards of living and quality of life measuring are described. In the second part the results of two chosen surveys are described and analy-zed. The first one is Human Development Index, the other is life satisfaction detected during European Quality of Life Survey. Closer description and analyses are focused on European Union, V4 states and Czech republic. The results of secondary analysis are summarized in the tables and graphs.

Diploma thesis Insurance companies products comparison in the market of Czech Republic focuses on the subgroup of life insurance which is term life insurance. Thesis is divided in to the theoretical part, where the situation of Czech insurance market is brought in details and it depicts and analyses life insurance as a whole to emphasize the reason of selection of term life insurance outside of the other types. Theoretical part is constructed the way to enlighten the issues of life insurance for ordinary readers and on other hand to provide professionals working in this sector with useful and beneficial information. The core of the thesis is represented by practical part, where deep analysis of particular products and their interpretation and application on defined groups consisting of different people structures is provided. Thesis is trying to emphasize an importance of ensuring personal well-being via insurance and aspires to be helpful as a tool when choosing a right product of life insurance as well.
The consequences of the monetary reforms in Czechoslovakia in 1953

The thesis focuses on monetary reform in Czechoslovakia in 1953. It concentrates especially on the impact of monetary reform on the population. Based on the hypothesis that the economic situation of the state and of the population has not improved as the monetary reform planned. The thesis describes postwar period of Czechoslovakia for a better evaulating and understanding of the monetary reform. The conclusion of the thesis is that monetary reform didn´t increase economic growth and damaged greatly all social strata of the population. The way how the monetary reform was proclaimed caused loosing population´s confidence in the government and in the currency.

The living standards of Czech households

The aim of the Diploma Thesis was to evaluate the contemporary state of the living standards of the households in the Czech Republic. The sources were statistical data on the one hand, on the other hand, there was the point of view of the Czech inhabitants. The theoretical part consists of the basic definitions summary, explanations of the diverse attitudes to evaluation of the living standards and description of indicators that influence the process of living standards. The practical part analyses the living standards development based on the data from the Czech Statistical Office. Alongside, there were used data from the Czech Social Science Data Archiv. The data were acquired in the public opinion poll Our Society 2015 executed by the Public Opinion Research Center. There was ascertained, that the living standard of the households in the Czech Republic is growing. There was also discovered, which factors influence the living standards and in which way. The final part provides the appraisal of the results.
Development of selected indicators of living standards

The thesis is focused on statistical analysis of development of selected indicators of living standards: GDP per capita; the amount of net cash incomes of households; the amount of income each household types; average salary and retirement pension; the amount of net cash expenditure on food and non-alcoholic beverages and the amount of net cash expenditure on housing, water, energy and fuel in the period from 2000 to 2014. The theoretical part explains the important concepts related to the living of the population and households. In the practical part of the study was to help elementary characteristics of time series found that the development of selected indicators can be described as a growing trend. During the evaluation of development are also discussed factors influencing the indicators. For each indicator was subsequently selected individual function, which is to describe the development seemed most appropriate. The forecasts of possible future development of selected indicators of living standards showed that despite sporadic declines in their value will increase in 2015.
Assessment of The Financial Effectiveness in Lease or Purchase of A Flat as Possible Alternatives of Housing

The subject of this thesis is the financial assessment of ownership and rental housing in the country. The theoretical part focuses on the standard living, cash flow planning for household, Czech housing fund and the most attention is paid to the possibilities of financing of own housing. These are mainly mortgage and building savings. In the practical part are applied previous knowledge to the specific case of renting an apartment and buying a flat. Different financing alternatives own housing are also made. Financial efficiency of rent an apartment and own apartment is compared in the long term.
