Psychological profiling of an offender

Criminal profiling Abstract The purpose of my thesis is to analyse criminal profiling, one of the disciplines of forensic psychology used by law enforcement authorities in their effort to capture offender of a crime. The reason for my research is my interest in the criminal law in general, mainly in the psychological aspects of work of law enforcement authorities with individual offenders. The thesis is composed of three chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of criminal profiling. Chapter One is introductory and defines basic terminology of criminal profiling and the essence of criminal profiling in general. The chapter is subdivided into five parts, which deals with the term of criminal profiling, its development, particular delicts suitable for profiling, the manner of creating a profile and its efficiency in the criminal proceedings in Czech Republic. Chapter Two examines the best known approaches to criminal profiling, its methods and typology. The chapter consists of five parts. Part One focuses on the different approaches to criminal profiling. Categories language and its future implementation is an interesting view of the Danish

The aim of this dissertation is to give an overall picture of the category future and its language realization in the Scandinavian languages. In the first part of the thesis, the category is described from a philosophical point ofview. With support in one oftwo most int1uential theories on metaphysics oftime, the dynamic A-theory, I suggest an intuitively plausible and linguistically relevant modelof time which as opposite to the traditional time line is able to account for the striking temporal asymmetry known from several European and non-European languages. The usual time line has been replaced by branching future with branches representing potential future courses of events, of which some are more probable than others. On the basis of this model, future constructions in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish which are the language s ofthe so called 'futureless area' (Dahl 2000) are described. In the second part of the study, the inventory of the future markers in the three language s is discussed systematically according to their grammaticalization source dornains (modality, motion verbs and aspect). Domestic violence as a social problem in České Budějovice district

Violence at home, a.k.a. home violence, is a spiraling cycle of brutality committed in private between closely related persons. Such violence can by physical, psychological, sexual, economic or social, with the roles of the attacker and the victim clearly defined and never changing. Anyone can be exposed to home violence, irrespective of her or his social position, education, job, sex, age, religion, or the type of partnership that people live in. Advanced societies have developed a tendency to tackle the issue, and the awareness of the problem has improved. In our country this favorable development is driven primarily by the newly enacted regulations and the keener interest stirred up in the public. The thesis aimed to investigate the general public awareness of home violence within the District of České Budějovice. As followed from the survey, the public living in the District is well aware of the issue. The results showed that as much as 69% of respondents knew about home violence, while the remaining 31% were ignorant of the problem. Hypothesis: Females are better informed about home violence than males - confirmed by comparison between what the women and the men knew about the issue. The difference encountered, however, was just minor. Hypothesis: People living in the District of České Budějovice are not knowledgeable about changes newly passed in Act 135/200 to solve the problem of violence at home - not confirmed. The majority of respondents heard of the Act and were able to specify at least the essential changes it enacted. The change the respondents mentioned most often was the 10 day period of flat-eviction order. It comes as a matter of interest that males were better aware of the Act and could better quote the changes it introduced. Hypothesis: The public accepts as true that home violence is confined to just problem-ridden families - not confirmed. Eighty seven percent of females and 81% of males were convinced that home violence was not limited to only such families. Merely 13% of females and 19% of males believed the home violence was a matter of the problem-ridden families. The survey results showed that the public living in the District of České Budějovice had dropped this myth, i.e. they had not seen the hypothesis as truthful. The thesis can serve as a source of information for the lay public, as a piece of instruction material for the students of the University of South Bohemia, or it could also be given to the Intervention Center to be distributed among the victims of home violence.

Analysis of brand awareness of Air Bank on the Czech market "Can the Czechs like also a bank"?

The aim of my bachelor thesis was to analyse the position and awareness of the new young emerging banking institutions on the Czech banking market that occurred after entrance of new young banking institutions, which disrupted the traditional hegemony of big traditional banks such as Česká spořitelna, Komerční banka and others. The research is primarily carried out from the point of view of brand creation. Theoretical conclusions, that define the first part, are practically validated on a specific example of the new bank - Air Bank. I describe the bank history and key milestones in its establishment on the market and defining marketing approaches that Air Bank has chosen including their influence on the brand awareness. To confirm my claims -- both theoretical and practical ones - I conducted a questionnaire survey at the end of my thesis investigating either general factors of clients approach to banks, and in particular the key public knowledge of Air Bank. I obtained an overview of the success of their marketing communication and brand awareness. In the survey, I confirmed my hypothesis that points to the knowledge of Air Bank and its marketing communications.

Category of competence and its understanding by practicing teachers

Disertační práce se zabývá problematikou zavádění konceptu klíčových kompetencí jakožto cílů vzdělávání, které přináší kurikulární reforma. Teoretická část je zaměřená na prozkoumání toho, jakým způsobem jsou zpracovány klíčové kompetence v odborné literatuře a evropských i českých kurikulárních dokumentech. Věnuje se pojetí a začlenění klíčových kompetencí do národních vzdělávacích programů v zemích EU. Různé přístupy v těchto zemích porovnává a vyhodnocuje ve vztahu ke kurikulární reformě v České republice a ve vazbě na pojetí klíčových kompetencí v Rámcovém vzdělávacím programu pro základní vzdělávání. Výzkumná část se soustředí na zmapováni porozumění klíčových kompetencí u "stěžejních hráčů kurikulární reformy (učitelé, školitelé, inspektoři), jejichž úkolem je tento nový koncept zavádět do pedagogické praxe. The electoral system to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

The aim of this text is to analyse current electoral system to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and its critics. Chapter one defines four main variables that are exclusively specific to list proportional representation systems - electoral district magnitude, electoral formula, legal threshold and the number and character of tier districting. Various combinations of these variables produce various proportionality of the representation authority. Chapter two presents descriptive analysis of the current electoral system to the Chamber of Deputies, by means of four main variables and a secondary variable - character of list of candidates (ballot structure). Chapter three is pointing to some of the critics of the current electoral system. In chapter four, there I present my project how to reform current electoral system. These changes are likely to have minimal effect on the electoral behaviour of voters and political parties. Transformation of political system in Cezchoslovakia in 1989-1992

Od listopadu 1989 uplyne v příštím roce 2009 již 20 let. Z těchto rušných dnů a týdnů si jako pětiletá nepomatuji nic. Zpětně si však uvědomuji, že jsem i já byla svědkem jednoho z nej významnějších předělů novodobé historie Československa. 17. listopadu 1989 byla zahájena revoluce, která do dějin vstoupila s různými přívlastky - něžná, sametová, pokojná... Podstatné bylo, že skončila vláda jedné strany - Komunistické strany Československa. V prosinci 1989 byl prezidentem zvolen Václav Havel, významný představitel československého disidentu z období normalizace 1969 - 1989. V červnu 1990 proběhly první svobodné parlamentní volby, které se staly po více než čtyřicetiletém období nesvobody nezbytnou součástí transformace našeho politického systému a demokratizačního procesu. Dne 28. října tohoto roku to bude již 90 let od vzniku Československé republiky. Myslím, že je nutné ohlédnout se zpět a uvést některé podstatné události, které se přímo dotýkají demokratizačního vývoje u nás. Zároveň je třeba připomenout si ty okamžiky, kdy byl silně potlačen či dokonce zastaven svobodný a demokratický vývoj v Československu. Practical Application of the Profile Topic " Multicultural Education"for the Teaching of History

Diese Arbeit hatte zum Ziel, ein Manual für die Arbeit mit dem ausgewählten Querschnittsthema zu schaffen, das Grundschullehrern bei der Festigung ihrer eigenen Lehrpläne behilflich ist. Ich habe mich intschieden, einen Entwurf für die Arbeit mit dem Querschnittstheme "multikulturelle Schulausbildungů im Geschichtsuntericht in der siebenten Klasse an Grundschulen anzufertigen. Mein Entwurf beinhaltet konkrete Beispiele von Tätigkeiten sowie Fragen, Übungen, Produkte, Realisirungsvorschläge usw. Alles wird durch Bildmaterial ergänzt. Am Schluss habe ich Beispiele leicht zugänglicher Literatur angeführt, mit der Lehrer in den Schulstunden arbeiten können. Ich meine die Ziele erreicht zu haben, die ich mir in der Einleitung habe; und vielleicht wird diese Arbeit denjenigen Lehrern zuträglich sein, die sich bemühen, ihren eigenen Lehrplan zu fertigen.

Bel canto - ideal aim in technique preparation of teachers

The notion bel canto is frequently used among singers and singing masters but nobody knows how exactly this concept should be specified. The students then are confused and consequently do not achieve such good results as they could. This fact inspired me for the topic of my master thesis, which is to briefly conclude, what has already been written about bel canto and put it into the context with the vocal training of teachers to be. This master thesis forms a complex work. There is a chapter about the vocal physiology, because every student should have at least basic knowledge about this topic. Because not all the students learn or understand Italian I added the chapter about the basic principles of the Italian pronunciation based on the Metodo practico di canto italiano by N. Vaccai. At the close of the theoretical part I introduced three significant names connected with bel canto, that are Niccolô Vaccai, Mathilde Marchesi a Lilli Lehmann. The vocal training has the only aim, that is the beauty of the voice and precise intonation. There are as many ways leading to this aim as many singing masters exist. Usage of psychometrics in the organizational setting

Theoretical part of this work is supposed to serve as a basic handbook for those who are willing to use psychometric, respective psychological tests in the organizational setting. In the preliminary part there is briefly explained what psychometrics is, there is shown its historical development, arguments for its use, methods of calculating its economical effectiveness and areas of most common application of results based on psychometric testing in context with human resources management. Next part is concerned with basic abstract of category structure of psychometric methods and characterization of basic features that all tests should fulfill. Following part of this text is focused on practical issues regarding to use of psychometric test in the organizational setting - from creating clear conception, through job analysis, selection of suitable testing methods, test administration and scoring until their interpretation and giving feedback.
