This part of the thesis is primarily focused on problems and common issues of both nations present in Czechoslovakia. There is also brief analysis of national policy towards other nations. Second part of the beginning is dealing with the political history of Czechoslovakia between November 1989 and June 1992. This part describes in detail the biggest difficulties both nations had to solve. Special attention is paid to the "dash-war", dispute about competence between republics and federation, negotiations about state agreement and constitutions. From the opening analysis results, that till the election in June 1992 was achieving a compromise between both nations difficult but still possible. In this detail interpretation of conferences is revealed role of each of the main politicians involved in the process of the partition, starting with problematic role of Václav Havel, who unwillingly but significantly contributed to the division, continuing with uncompromising...
Teaching-space paradigm
Bureš, Jan ; Müller, Rudolf (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The project is dealing with building of a new Faculty of Architecture at BUT. The target area is located on one of the BUT campuses between Údolní, Úvoz and Tvrdého streets. The concept of the new Faculty of Architecture is based on a relationship between teachers and students. The specificity of the architectural studio education is historically referring to beaux art academies. The atelier is a community space where students learn from their "master", but above all from each other. The project addresses the relationship between student´s and teacher´s spaces, which meet in the central "factory" hall, connecting the two worlds.
Migration of Czech junior hockey players
Bureš, Jan ; Crossan, William Morea (advisor) ; Vojta, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: Migration of Czech junior hockey players Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to understand the relationship between migration of Czech junior hockey players and the level of their success in the NHL. To help accomplish this goal, desirable secondary data needed to be collected. One of the secondary goals of this thesis was to analyze topics and studies related to this thesis. Methods: This thesis uses quantitative research. One of crucial methods used is document analysis; analysis of related case studies and data in particular. Comparative research was also used to compare data collected in this thesis and data collected in related case studies. Correlation analysis was used to understand the relationship between migration and success in the NHL. Results: The results of this thesis follow up on related case studies in certain aspects, mainly the data gathered in said studies. Comparison of data collected in mentioned studies and this thesis proves the generally known decline of total number of Czech players drafted to and playing in the NHL. The number of Czech players in the NHL has more than halved in the last 20 years. Case studies previously done on this topic showed that Czech players who spend their junior years abroad are very unlikely to succeed in the NHL. The results...
Institutionalization of Czech Party System after 2002
Hanáček, Vladimír ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Just, Petr (referee) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
v anglickém jazyce: The dissertation thesis deals with the issue of stability and the change of the Czech party system through the prism of the theory of party system institutionalization formulated by political scientist Scott Mainwaring and his followers. In the context of the development of the Czech party system between 2002 and 2017, when multiple changes to the systemic format and mechanism occurred, it seeks to identify the degree of systemic deinstitutionalization and, above all, to reveal its causes. The changes in format associated with the increase in out-of-system volatility and the emergence of new actors in the 2010, 2013 and 2017 elections are the result of processes identified at the individual level of political parties as units of the system. Therefore, the theories of institutionalization of political parties formulated by Angela Panebianco and Vicky Randall and Lars Svasand are used to examine the degree of intra-party institutionalization. The prism of these theories identifies the causes of the internal deinstitutionalization of political parties, given the small number of their membership bases, the excessive dependence on state and private funding sources of the party, as well as the internal disunity and party secession. Key words: party system institutionalization...

Analytical and bioanalytical evaluation of novel potential drugs from the group of iron chelators
Bureš, Jan ; Štěrbová, Petra (advisor) ; Kujovská Krčmová, Lenka (referee) ; Hroch, Miloš (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis Candidate: Mgr. Jan Bureš Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. Petra Štěrbová, Ph.D. Title of Thesis: Analytical and bioanalytical evaluation of novel potential drugs from the group of iron chelators High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) gained its unprecedented position among bioanalytical techniques due to its effectivity and versatility. If tuned properly, it can separate complex mixtures and can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis simultaneously, usually within a short time. Reliability of the HPLC methods is proven by their validation performed according to accepted guidelines. Iron chelation is considered to be an effective concept of treatment of various pathologies - from iron overload disease to cancer or neurodegenerative disorders. To develop new chelators for these indications it is important to investigate their structure- activity relationship, the fate of the drug in organism and its relationship to biological effects and toxicity etc. Modern analytical methods are essential tools for these studies. The first part of this work presents validated LC-UV and LC-MS methods for assay of aroylhydrazone iron chelators and related pro-drugs in biological...

The horse riding centre is designed to play a role of a new tourist attraction in the region. The diploma thesis deals with the main building design. The building is supposed to be bricked with ceramic blocks and roofed with a gable roof but partly also with a flat roof. The thesis also looks into two special features – the design of health-technical installation, gas and water plumbing. Last but not least, it designs a steel roof truss.
Model of landscape connectivity for European otter
Bureš, Jan ; Romportl, Dušan (advisor) ; Matějček, Tomáš (referee)
Model of landscape connectivity for European otter Abstract Landscape connectivity is one of the main functions that mitigate the effects of landscape fragmentation on organisms. It allows organisms to move through habitat areas to natural habitat. Given of the overall decline in biodiversity, conservation of landscape connectivity is one of the main objectives of current nature protection. The greatest impact of landscape fragmentation on the population of European otters is mortality on roads. The most of the dead otters are found every year in the Jihočeský and Vysočina regions. That is why this region is an adequate model area for determining the connectivity of the landscape from the perspective of otters. This thesis deals with landscape fragmentation, habitat connectivity and landscape resistance. CIRCUISCAPE is the main tool used to solve connectivity modelling. From the resulting connectivity, landscape resistance and mortality values, risk areas for migration were selected. The telemetry data from the area around Dačice were used to validate this model. Keywords: habitat connectivity - landscape resistance - telemetry - European otter
