Environmental Aspects of Chemistry Teaching and Learning at High School

The abstract The main aim of the dissertation was to find out the level of knowledge and opinions of secondary technical and especially grammar school students in the field of Chemistry focusing on environmental problems of these days and their solutions. As a follow up of the research and the analysis of the current curriculum in Chemistry in grammar schools there are suggestions for some amendments in this subject. First of all, current trends of the environmental studies in different years of the educational system were monitored and the research results of preparation, realization and evaluation in secondary technical and grammar schools were analysed. In order to find out the level of environmental aspects in the content of the Chemistry textbooks currently in use at grammar schools, they were analysed by focusing on their eco-oriented content, the useable parts in each chapter were evaluated and some recommendations for their amendments were offered. Selected grammar school and secondary technical school students undertook the survey in order to find out their knowledge and opinions about the current environmental problems. Ing. Jitka Vodáková, CSc. ABSTRAKT This Bachelor thesis highlights the possibilities of environmental education in kindergarten and school company with practical activities. In the theoretical part, first of all, I am mapping out the framework education programs for pre-school and basic education and the charakterizuji environmental education and its interconnections with practical activities. The aim of the practical part of the drafting and realisation of a minor part of the project, focusing on environmental education. The project was primarily to provide children the opportunity to get acquainted with some methods such as observation, the use of the results for other activities, exploring the connection between different phenomena in nature, get to know the environment in which they live and to obtain a positive relationship to him. Overall, it was aimed to promote the development of the child as a personality-oriented proenvironmentaly. Influence of the natural environment on the development of motor and cognitive abilities of preschool age.

This work deals with the effect the natural environment on the development of motor and cognitive abilities of preschool age. The aim is to determine the effect of education in the natural environment to the level of motor skills and knowledge of preschool children. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of preschool age. Acquaints with the development of motor skills and their training in the natural environment. It also deals with the cognitive component of the preschool child's personality and the possibilities of its development in the countryside. Zooms problems of education in a forest environment, types of learnin and methods of training in the various components of the child's personality just in a forest. The practical part is a qualitative research method used is a questionnaire survey among kindergarten teachers to determine the most commonly used educational environment, the method standardized test for 4-6-year old children to determine the level of motor skills of the children, and the method of diagnostic interview, which examined the effect of natural environments on children's knowledge. Results in agreement with reported literature confirm the positive influence of education in the natural environment for the development of several components of the child's personality.

School gardens and their potencional for process of education

This diploma thesis deals with a utilization of school gardens for education at primary schools. It draws on historical development of school gardens and tries to emphasize an importance of their incorporation into an educational process, their positive impact on health and growth of pupils, and improvement of their skills and knowledge. Thesis also analyses relationships with Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Research itself deals with current state and utilization of school gardens by primary school teachers at Kolin district. It focuses on a school garden ownership, frequency of their usage, personal experience and needs of teachers for giving lectures in gardens. It also discusses areas of education for which the gardens are mostly used. Ekonaratology - story of nature

Ekonarathology Thesis deals with the history, goals and using modern theories of narrative in an interdisciplinary environmental education in pre-school environment. It describes the importance and potentiality narratology as an approach to children's understanding of the outside world and increasing environmental sensitivity. The aim of the research was to verify the narrative paradigm (Fisher, 2000, Bruner 1996) for preschool children and establish a closer relationship between children and nature by creating more authentic stories about nature, which the children themselves invented. The second part focuses on research among teachers in nursery schools. The task was to write books about nature, which in its practical use. From this list, then formed the top ten most popular children's books about nature. The work also offers a list of suitable books for ekonarathology method for preschool children. The result was the finding that children aged 4-6 years will naturally remember more when they hear the information in the form of storytelling, and that they are able to listen to nature and its manifestations.

Influence of enviroment to art creation

It is analyzing differencies in the understanding of the environmental art term, and its historical bases. The thesis is comparing two different cultures - finish and czech, concerning its way of using the term. The comparison show the problematic issue of the czech prehension of the environmental art term. Didactic section presents a project of the mountain leasure time centre focused on the ecological education through the art activities in the nature.

Conception of cross-curricular subjets in natur science subjects at secondary school.

The task of contemporary education is not only to equip pupils with skills and knowledge, but to give them postures and values as well. That is one of the goals of the so-called cross-curricular subjects, which were brought by the education reformation accomplished several years ago. This area is as new for many teachers as it is for pupils and that is the reason why this master thesis was created. It provides basic information about cross-curricular subjects and supplies options for their practical implementation in the education. The theoretical section aims at the characterization of Czech and foreign cross-curricular subjects and their mutual comparison. The research section, among others, contains practical suggestions interconnecting the cross-curricular subjects with natural sciences education, and some of them have been verified in practice. Questionnaire survey follows, finding out the position of high school students towards the cross-curricular subjects and towards key-competence developing activities. Students also expressed their opinion on the practical suggestions application during education in this survey. In conclusion of the study, the observed results were evaluated and compared with the literature and author's opinions.

Education projects focused on the area of Milíčov forest and ponds

Title: Educational projects focused on the area of Milíčov forest and ponds. This graduation thesis deals with project education in the field of natural monument Milíčov forest and ponds. It directly borders with southern city housing estate. Result of this work is a collection of materials focusing on environmental education and upbringing pupils on 2nd stage of basic schools, which are located near this monument. These are mainly a methodology for teachers, manual to the project education, worksheets for pupils and creative solution of worksheets for teachers. The starting point for creating projects has been a partial study, questionnaire and open discussion with students. Teoretical part at its beginning describes general conservation and special nature protection, to place issues in a boarder context. The historical aspect is also mentioned. In the thesis are also defined Milíčov forests and ponds characteristics, taking into account their rarities. It is mainly dealt with occurring of important species and specially protected species in this area. In my work is also given the emphasis on the General educational program, environmental education, analysis of schoolbooks and organizational forms of teaching.
