Level and Efficiency of External Controls of Schools in Liberec Region (Focused on Founders' Competences and Mutual Cooperation During the Inspection)

My thesis analyzes and evaluates the status and functioning of the education system in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it analyzes the causes and consequences of influence of each factor on its quality. The found knowledge is summarized in the proposal of the new external school evaluation. Conslusions are based on the results of inquiry of directors, founders and employees of Czech School Inspection of Liberec region, based on the results of the national project Road to Quality Improvement realized in the Czech Republic, as well as the conclusions are based on results of international teams interested in implementation of evalution of school systems, for example Organization for Economic Cooperation Development (OECD), McKinsey & Company and Standing Conference of Central and General Inspectorates of Education (SICI). The aim of this thesis it to find the scale of competences and responsibility of each subject in educational politics. It is focused on qualification of founders and drawing of consequences coming from all indentified aspects. Assessment and self-assessment in physical education at primary school

This thesis is focused on assessment in physical education and its impact on pupils' self-esteem and self-assessment. The theoretical part consists of personality and social characteristics of a child under school age, self-analysis as components of human self- mastery, and finally the theoretical content and forms of assessment at primary school with an emphasis on its objectives. The key chapter is the theoretical description of the concepts of evaluation in physical education. Research section is then devoted to determining the impact on self-assessment by comparing the parallel surveys and exploration of current trends in assessment in physical education.

Development of metacognitive strategies for primary school pupils in the Montessori environment

In my final thesis I have dealt with the development of metacognitive strategies for primary school pupils in the Montessori environment. The aim of the first part of the thesis was to anchor the entire issue in the broader context of the current educational situation with respect to the requirements of The General educational program. In the second part of the thesis I described both - metacognitive strategies as well as key aspects of Montessori education. This characteristic I based on the analysis of the available literature. The final part of theory deals with the synthesis of both areas. This synthesis showes their harmonious connections and considerable complementarity. In this section I also revealed some problems that educators face in practice, and I tried to outline possible ways to address them - from my own experience of teaching practice. Empiric part of thesis uncovers the ways of introduction metacognitive strategies to education and presents few "examples of good practice.

Cooperative learning and the Results of Pupils

The aim of this theoretical-empirical thesis was to examine the principles of cooperative teaching while working on business letters within the lessons of Commercial-legal Correspondence at secondary school. The main objective of the research was to compare student's results - students' marking in two groups of students following the different types of educational methods: cooperation and non-cooperation. TITLE: Self-evaluation in terms of nursery management AUTHOR: Vaclava Čmolíková DEPARTMENT Charles University in Prague, college of education School Management Centre SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Vera Fantová ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to provide an overview of access of nursery schools to self- evaluation from a management perspective, compare the reality in nursery schools and units of the merged primary and nursery schools in the realization of self- evaluation and adopted measures, which are based on the self-evaluation report. In the theoretical section there are reported some basic terms related to self-evaluation, school management and the legislative framework. The subject of the research was to map how the managers of individual schools and units of the merged primary and nursery schools evaluate an area of the management. The result is a summarization of approach to school self- evaluation procedures in view of schools, which points to continuing problems in the evaluation of management of nursary schools and which opens a new way to understanding and doing self-evaluation more effective in the area of nursary schools.
