Social construction of inequalities in an access to higher education and admission exams

The thesis deals with the construction of inequalities in the access to the tertiary education with the special emphasis on entrance exams to the universities. The aim is to explore how the entrance exams as the gate to the universities are perceived by students - the actors who are the most affected by these inequalities in education, according to relevant research of these inequalities. The thesis studies how these actors perceive their position and situation within the entrance process, what situations (if any) are constructed as unequal by these actors, who is affected by such inequalities and how does he/she copes with them. The research question is seen from the perspective of interactionist constructivism and answered by applying methods of grounded theory and semi-structured in-depth interviews.
Management of risks during recruitment and selection of teaching staff

Human factor creates the greatest risk when working with people. Above all, to give a good example for future generations, it is necessary to select preschool teachers carefully. However, the role teachers play is not only to present a good example for children but to be also a colleague and team worker. Pre-school teachers are required to possess professional and personality competences. Therefore the process of recruitment and selection of teaching staff (followed by their adaptation in preschools) is one of the most important and difficult things in personnel management. Key staff, mangers and personnel officers are in charge of this process. It is highly important to be able to identify, evaluate and eliminate possible risks in the course of all recruitment process. To eliminate such risks is fundamental not only for key staff in education system. The aim of the paper is to define particular measures of prevention arising form identification and evaluation of possible risks during recruitment and selection of teaching staff school education, taking into account their future incorporation into the process of education. Why do primary school children choose multi-year gymnasiums?

The Czech educational system offers primary school children the possibility to proceed in the lower-secondary education at a multi-year gymnasium. This bachelor's thesis examines the students' change from a basic school to a multi-year gymnasium and explains the real reasons, why children choose this school type. The theoretical part provides the basic history of the Czech educational system, especially gymnasiums, and familiarizes the reader with research and facts about tracking and ability grouping. In the empirical part, the thesis describes methodological aspects of qualitative research. It analyses reasons why children choose an eight-year gymnasium, what is expected from future studies and what experience these eleven years old children have.
Entrance examination procedures for Bachelor studies at Charles University faculties with social science orientation

The main aim of the thesis is to explore a current status of entrance examination procedures, which are applied for bachelor studies at faculties of Charles University with social science orientation (i.e. the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Arts). In first part, utilizing an analysis of relevant secondary data, the thesis deals with the description of current forms of entrance examination procedures. Besides description of current practice, the thesis further contains an analysis of stakeholders and qualitative research which is based on an analysis of interviews with representatives of faculty decision-makers, representatives of students from the faculty academic senates and students of the three analyzed faculties. The inteviews were transcribed and open-coded, which led to the sorting information into categories by theme. As a method of stakeholder analysis a "quick" analysis of stakeholders was used in order to identify the main stakeholders of the issues under investigation. Overall, the analysis of interviews shows that each faculty has different strategies and preferences for selecting students during the entrance procedure. Non-verbal communication as one of the criteria for taking on pedagogical staff

6 ABSTRACT: Knowledge of individual elements of non-verbal communication is of great contribution for verifying submitted information, opening possibilities to view personal characteristics of given individuals. These pieces of knowledge can be successfully used during job interviews for pre-school institutions. This is one of the criteria, which can help discover desired qualities of future teachers, which are necessary for good work simultaneously helping to discover undesirable and problematic qualities. This thesis aims at detecting which features of non-verbal communication are most preferred by headmasters of pre-school institutions in the process of talking on new teachers. Instructions, created on the basis of the questionnaire evaluation and personal interviews, explain the most significant elements of non-verbal communication. These instructions can be used to help during job interviews. This Thesis is aimed at the recruitment, selection and intake of new employees of the selected company. The theoretical sections describe the findings, acquired from the professional sources. Relevant prerequisites, concepts and procedures are defined. The empirical sections present the selected company from their field of operations point of view and analyse their methods of recruitment of new employees. The closing sectiions advise of and propose the changes to be implemented in order to achieve higher level of effectivity of the recruitment system.

This bachelor thesis deals with selection of employees in the state administration. Approaching the problem of the possible presence of nepotism in selection of employees. Thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the search, recruiting and selecting staff from literature. The next point of the theoretical part is the selection of employees in the local government units on response to the law n. 312/2002 Sb., which is about local government units officials and amended later laws. In the theoretical part are the social and human consequences of the choice of employees in connection with nepotism. The practical part is focused on interviews with employees of municipal office.

My degree work will deal with design methodology selection procedures for a successor company. In a business plan the company want have 70 emloyees in one year. At the end I'll have a handbook for a selection procedures new employees. I'll start with formulation requirements and generation classifieds, next will be selection procedures and possibility stimulation, I want avoid a unwanted leaving the job.
A comparison of the requirements for practical entrance exams for high school sports in the Czech Republic and their design optimization at the University of South Bohemia\\

The main goal of this thesis is the proposal of optimization of practical entrance exams, for study on Faculty of sport at University of South Bohemia. Another goal is the comparison of requirements for practical entrance exams at selected sport universities in Czech republic. By data analysis of entrance exams from past four years at University of South Bohemia author found out, which disciplines are overrated and on the contrary which are underrated, graphs of results frequency were generated by data analysis, descriptive statistics and histograms for each discipline; based on these results, procedure for optimization the scoring system was set. When determining the new recommended values in the tables of Faculty of sport at University of South Bohemia was used descriptive statistics and a histogram. For comparison, author used scoring tables from other universities, which have shown us how different their scoring system is against scoring system at University of South Bohemia.
