Development of Competitiveness of Company

The content of this master’s thesis deals with competitiveness of the accommodation establishment „Jacob Brno“ through its brand. The current situation of the company is dismantled according to theoretical knowledge. Based on the value chain theory, the value creation process for the customer is further dismantled and compared to competing company. According to the variety of analyses, it is proposed to extend the supply of the accommodation establishment to ancillary services. This includes services such as a conference facility or an improved way to accommodate guests.
The issue of tertiary education in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy

The aim of the dissertation titled the issue of tertiary education in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy is to justify a cultural and social importance and need for developing disciplines - Hospitality and Catering at the college/university level. Sub-objectives judge the current state of professional education in the studied area. The main output is the concept of professional standards in defining key competencies and sample profile of a graduate of bachelor and master study programme of the examined field. The combination of several methods and techniques was used for the processing of this study - a comparison of higher education environment in the analysis field in the Czech Republic and Europe, including survey results from 556 respondents, observation and personal interviews. Results of the evaluated analysis and synthesis helped to formulate conclusions. The educational model for higher levels of hospitality and catering allows modifications within the study program - with regard to the requirements of professional environments. Based on survey results, it was defined competencies of graduates, which are required by employers of surveyed industries. The research was done for a three-star hotel Kozak in Brno owned by Kozak Invest a.s.
The Proposal for Improvement of Services in the Myslivna Hotel

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of enhancing quality of services provided in the Myslivna Hotel. It is necessary to increase the level of current services by a number of measures. When working on my thesis, I based on real economic, operational and technical data carried out within full operation of the Myslivna Hotel. In the innovation section I present measures that can lead to an increasing trend of occupancy and the quality ot the services provided there. There is a need to spend a considerable amount of money on the realization of all the proposals, but their return shoud definitely have a very positive effect on the function and prospertiy of the Myslivna Hotel.
Psychological testing in personnel psychology: competency-based selection of hospitality leaders

This thesis deals with one of the most debated topics of the Personnel Psychology - the personnel selection. The aim of the thesis is to provide an exhaustive overview of the designing process of the selection procedures with special attention being paid to the various methods of selecting employees. Attention was primarily paid to the effort that the knowledge of the otherwise common methods of selecting employees be put in the new framework and the latest ways of their application. Particular emphasis has been put upon the new approaches to the method of interview, cognitive abilities testing, detection of individual personality at work and new methods in designing assessment centers. An interesting chapter is the use of emotional factors as selection criteria and the application of the attachment theory to work. Considerable extent of the thesis is also devoted to the methods of job analysis and competency modeling, their comparison and applications. Based on the previous theoretical treatise the empirical part attempts at creating a competency model for senior executives in the hotel industry and proposes possible ways of its practical use.
Management of Hotel

The aim of this thesis is to find out common and different features between the ways of management of selected hotels and after that to compare their ways of management with prevailing theory about the management of this type of organizations. Part of this thesis is to analyse management of three hotel organizations and their mutual comparison. First, there will be found information about the particular way of management in each of selected hotels, which will then be applied to theoretical knowledge. The result of this comparison will be information on whether the way of management in individual organizations corresponds with theoretical knowledge and whether, by contrast, could this knowledge be actually used. The next step is to compare individual hotels among themselves and based on results, which emerge from this analysis, the proposal to improve the management of individual hotels will be suggested.

The thesis deals with the issue of enhancing the quality of providing services at a real hotel in Telč, the Vysočina Region. The hotel is in need of certain adjustments in purpose to improve current services. When processing this thesis I delt with factual economic, operating and technical figures connected to the latest economic activity of the hotel. In the proposal part I presents series of suggestions that could recondition provided services, and therefore, draw attention of more customers. It is indisputable that a considerable amount of money would be necessary to invest first. However, the returnability should bring overal effect in prosperity of the whole hotel.
Business Plan of the Trilobit hotel

The goal of the thesis is is to present a business plan for new Trilobit hotel, conduct analysis of its marketing activities and determine strategies of development to promote the services of this hotel. SWOT analysis was used and showed that the hotel has more strength than weaknesses; also there are a lot of opportunities for development. Competitive analysis defined the hotel as the best in that area. All tools of marketing mix were explained clearly and in detail. Implementation plan and financial computations were placed to show costs, investments and cash flow. Range of development strategies was offered. In case of implementing that, hotel will attract new customers, extend range of services and increase competitive advantage and profitability.

The aim is to provide a comprehensive summary of selected new professional positions and put them into the context of hotel organization, and to analyze the current requirements for the position of Revenue Manager. The information obtained by monitoring the current job at the advertising portals and by an interview with a human recources officer of 5 * Prague hotel.
