Cooperation between the authority for social and legal protection of children and primary schools in the education of socially disadvantaged pupils
Horáková, Denisa ; Němec, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Mužáková, Monika (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on the collaboration between primary schools and the authority for social and legal protection of children in educating socially disadvantaged pupils. The theoretical part discusses the challenges faced by socially disadvantaged individuals, not only in school and family environments but also in the context of cooperation between elementary schools and social-legal protection authorities, especially in difficult situations. The practical part includes qualitative research conducted through semi-structured interviews with teachers, representing the schools, and social workers, representing the authority of social-legal protection of children, These interviews were analyzed using open coding for content analysis. The thesis aims to describe the cooperation between child protection bodies and primary schools, not just in addressing challenging situations involving socially disadvantaged pupils, but also to identify the challenges in this cooperation and suggest possible improvements. The collaboration usually occurs through telephone communication and educational committees. A major hurdle identified is the lack of feedback from schools, which hinders the effectiveness of the child protection authority. Numerous challenges impede this collaboration, requiring both teachers...
Multiple sclerosis - clinical and paraclinical markers for monitoring disease activity and factors influencing its course
Šťastná, Dominika ; Horáková, Dana (advisor) ; Libertínová, Jana (referee) ; Taláb, Radomír (referee)
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disease that, without treatment, leads over years to decades to severe disability in most patients. We cannot cure the disease, but there is growing evidence that early initiation of anti-inflammatory therapy and management of associated comorbidities has a major impact on its course. Patient registries have an irreplaceable contribution to evaluating factors influencing the MS course and the monitoring of therapeutic agents in real clinical practice. First, this thesis evaluated therapy management trends between 2013 and 2021 based on data from the Czech National MS Registry (ReMuS). Subsequently, the paper responds to the onset of the covid-19 pandemic through registry data and addresses this issue in the context of MS. The proportion of patients in ReMuS treated with high-efficacy disease-modifying therapies (HE-DMT) increased from 16.2% to 37.1% between 2013 and 2021, and the proportion of treatment-naive patients initiating HE-DMT increased from 2.1% to 18.5%. Regarding covid-19 infection, we determined that higher body mass index, older age, recent high-dose glucocorticoid treatment, and anti-CD20 therapy were independent variables associated with pneumonia based on data from 958 MS patients with a history of covid-19. Further, we analyzed...
The Czechoslovak Government-in-exile and its Relationship to Argentina 1939-1945
Horáková, Denisa ; Soukup, Jaromír (advisor) ; Krausz Hladká, Malvína (referee)
The bachelor thesis "The Czechoslovak Exile Government and its Relationship to Argentina in the years 1939-1945" examines the development of the struggle of the Czechoslovak exile government for recognition by the Argentine government. The thesis not only deals with the process of recognition of the Czechoslovak exile government and embassies in Buenos Aires, but also by the activities of compatriots in Latin America that helped foreign resistance through social activities. I use here primary sources which I found during study in the Archive of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Very important is also the first chapter. I mention here the historical development of Argentina since the 20th century, its relation to the world's great powers, and finally the development of Argentina in the Second World War. I conclude the thesis with summary of answers to research questions.
Holistic Medicine as a Phenomenon Now Days Time
Horáková, Daniela ; Janečková, Hana (advisor) ; Křížová, Eva (referee)
This thesis focuses on the comprehensive approach to human health. She attempts to shed more light on this topic, to document current circumstances related to the psychosomatic medicine and the so called holistic medicine, and to clarify the manner of understanding these concepts nowadays. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis constitutes a rough summary of the comprehensive approach to human treatment, a view of fundamental theories of psychosomatic medicine and its current position in the Czech health system. The thesis also includes an outline of applied terms which are connected to the comprehensive approach to human treatment, especially in the specialized literature. The practical part of this diploma thesis monitors the way in which the media use the terms of holistic medicine and psychosomatic medicine. Further, a general understanding of these concepts is demonstrated by the means of a questionnaire survey on a sample of 454 respondents. Moreover, the practical part is completed by interviews with two specialists of the Czech psychosomatic scene. The thesis is concluded by the author's polemic regarding the topic of this diploma thesis itself. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Magnetic resonance volumetric techniques in monitoring disease activity in patients with multiple sclerosis
Andělová, Michaela ; Horáková, Dana (advisor) ; Vymazal, Josef (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (referee)
Clinical course of multiple sclerosis (MS) is heterogenous and white matter lesion count and volume on brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) correlate with clinical course only partially. Therefore, there is an urgent need for more reliable prognostic biomarkers. This work explored three imaging markers - spinal cord (SC) imaging (specifically SC volume measurement and assessment of focal and diffuse SC changes), atlas-based model of "disconnectome" (i.e. disruption of brain connectivity due to white matter lesions) and periventricular white matter gradient assessed with T1 relaxometry. For the SC projects, we assessed MRI from 2044 MS patients with a semi-automatic method for SC volume measurement. We confirmed (i) a relationship between diffuse SC changes, SC volume and disability; (ii) a novel finding was that in patients with EDSS ≤ 4.0, diffuse changes contributed to higher disability more than SC volume; (iii) SC volume explains the paradox in patients with dissociation between brain white matter lesion load and disability; (iv) SC focal and/or diffuse changes are present in 75% patients with early MS, of which 43% have diffuse changes that are related to brainstem lesions. In the disconnectome project, we evaluated the disruption of connectivity caused by white mater lesions in 745 patients...
