Utilization of waste from processing of industrial hemp for production of carbonaceous adsorbents.
Šrámek, V. ; Staf, M. ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Beňo, Z.
Utilization of waste biomass for production of carbonaceous adsorbents would be a suitable substitution of comercially available activated carbon. This work focuses on a two step preparation in two separate apparatus of own construction operated at UCT Prague. The first step involves pyrolysis of the hemp hurd at temperature range 450–850 °C and the second step is based on activation of the pyrolysis residue via steam at temperatures 740 and 800 °C. The prepared activated material was examined for key sorption parameters: specific surface are by BET equation, total specific pore volume and pore size distribution. The results were compared to comercially available activated carbon produced also via the steam activation.

Sepsis and Sepsis-associated Acute Kidney Injury: Molecular Mechanism and Lovel Aspects of Treatment
Horák, Jan ; Matějovič, Martin (advisor) ; Šrámek, Vladimír (referee) ; Balík, Martin (referee)
Sepsis is the most common cause of death in the intensive care units worldwide. Despite the undeniable progress in pre- and clinical research, the effective causal therapeutic strategy still does not exist. Given to extremely complex and heterogenic host response to presence of infection, the paradigm "one disease, one drug" is obviously flawed and combination of multiple targets that involves early immunomodulation and cellular protection are needed. Cellular therapy using mesenchymal stem cells represents strategy that brought positive results in experiments with rodent septic models. Part of this thesis is dedicated to evaluation of safety and efficacy of stem cells intravenous administration to well-established large animal model of progressive peritoneal sepsis. Affecting of the neuroinflammatory reflex through the vagus nerve stimulation showed potential to attenuate sepsis in rodents. Rest of the text is dedicated to evaluation of vagus nerve stimulation effectivity in our model. KEYWORDS Sepsis, sepsis-associated acute kidney injury, mesenchymal stem cells, vagus nerve stimulation

Biochar Preparation in Quality of Activated Carbon via Pyrolysis of Hemp Waste
Šrámek, V. ; Staf, M. ; Pohořelý, Michael
The paper describes the preparation of adsorbents with the properties of activated carbon from biomass waste. Prime feedstock are hemp stems and a referential material is hardwood. The preparation is divided in two phases. The first phase includes pyrolysis in the temperature range 450-850 °C in the horizontal furnace and in the second phase the pyrolysed material is activated with steam and carbon dioxide in a vertical reactor. Finally, biochar was analyzed and relevant properties including BET surface and pore size distribution were determined to appoint suitable operational conditions for the biochar production in quality of activated carbon.\n

ACTOR AS A CREATOR OF SOUND COMPONENT IN A AUTHOR`S PROJECT
Kolman, Petr ; ČTVRTNÍK, Jan (advisor) ; ŠRÁMEK, Vratislav (referee)
The bachelor thesis contains a brief insight into the theory of music and sound on
the stage. Describes differences in the use of sound between specific types of
theater. It continues with the personal reflection of the author of the work and
describes his most crucial moments during his studies, when he met with the music
as an actor on stage, how he worked and how he benefited from it.

HUMOUR AND RHYTHM
Jeřábek, Eliáš ; ADÁMEK, Jiří (advisor) ; ŠRÁMEK, Vratislav (referee)
In this bachelor thesis I aim to define basic relationship between rhythm and
humour and observe their connection in different theatre and other genres. In the
first part I focused on theoretical substance of both terms, then I contemplate on
their synthesis and application in the specific theatre work of mine.

The Impact of Study on my Personal and Dramatic Development
Kosková, Petra ; ADÁMEK, Jiří (advisor) ; ŠRÁMEK, Vratislav (referee)
In this master thesis I focused to summarize especially from my point of view the study at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre. The aim was to describe the education and clarify the problems, which have occured during my study. Further to explain what impact had the study on my actor´s and personal growth and my exceptions to it. With this master thesis I also tried to illustrate the author´s work which arise during four-year study on DAMU

The Reflection and Construction of "Good Old Age" in the Rainbow Carehome
Šrámek, Vít ; Ezzeddine, Petra (advisor) ; Kolářová, Kateřina (referee)
Keywords: seniors, ageing studies, interaction, strategies of care Abstract: With the current demographic trend of population ageing, the issue of the post- productive stage of life (65+) becomes a topic of growing social relevance. Social cultural anthropology is no exception as ageing studies have been moving to the forefront of scientific discourse in recent years. One of the pioneers of ageing studies in Czech social and cultural anthropology is Hasmanová Marhánková with her longtime devotion to the issues of ageing , senior care and gender in old age (e.g. 2013: Aktivita jako projekt. Diskurz aktivního stárnutí a jeho odezvy v životech českých seniorů a seniorek, 2011: "Leisure in old age - disciplinary practices surrounding the discourse of active ageing."). The question of how to ensure the appropriate quality of life for seniors is one of the most important ones. For a fair number of seniors, this means quality of life spent in senior homes, which represent one of the possibilities of senior care for families that cannot (due to physical or social limitations) or would not care for the seniors in their homes. It is also an alternative for seniors without family. The current project will focus on a specific senior home (called Delta Senior Home for the purpose of anonymity) and on the strategies of...
