The Role of the School Counseling Centre in Elementary and Secondary Education

This thesis focuses on the significance and role of the school counseling centre in the context of modern education. Its main objective is to analyze and evaluate in detail the functioning of the school counseling centre at a specific school in Prague through a combination of theoretical knowledge and empirical research. The work is divided into two parts - the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part examines the development and current state of counseling in education, its principles, and approaches. Emphasis is placed on presenting the roles of individual members of the school counseling centre and their importance in supporting students in various areas of their lives and learning. The practical part of the work deals with a specific analysis of the operation and functioning of the school counseling center at a selected Prague school. The conducted empirical study utilizes qualitative methodology. The results of this analysis are subsequently presented with the aim of identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement in the work of the school counseling office. Based on the findings, specific recommendations and strategies are proposed for optimizing the services provided by the counseling center to achieve better support for students and their needs. Music education as a means to improve classroom climate

The diploma thesis deals with the use of music education as a means of improving the classroom climate at the first grade of primary school. The aim is to map a wide range of music education activities and propose specific music education activities that will contribute to the positive development of classroom climate. The theoretical part first introduces the developmental characteristics of the young school-age child, especially cognitive, emotional and social development. Next, it defines key concepts related to classroom climate and the basic principles of music education at the first grade of primary school. It also analyzes and specifies music education activities that promote overall well- being in the classroom. The educational activities are divided into five areas that are key in forming a quality classroom climate. The practical part focuses on transforming the classroom climate through the implementation of the aforementioned music education activities in practice. Support for the adaptation of pupils with ASD in school classroom

The diploma thesis deals with supporting the adaptation of pupils with autism spectrum disorder in the school classroom. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the support of adaptation in the school environment and the inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the complex definition of autism spectrum disorders with manifestations and specifics that appear in pupils with ASD. Then it describes the possibilities of inclusive education with recommended approaches to these pupils and counselling services including support measures used in education. The theoretical part also describes the possibilities of supporting the adaptation and inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the issue of adaptation of pupils with ASD through qualitative research. The aim of the research investigation is to find out how teaching staff support the adaptation of pupils with ASD to the school environment and its inclusion in the school classroom. In addition, what specifics in the adaptation of pupils with ASD are perceived and taken into account by pedagogical staff. Last but not least, the difficulties and risks encountered in the adaptation and education of pupils with ASD are identified. The research is carried out by means of semi-structured interviews and observations. The thesis presents validated and recommended strategies and methods of work for pupils with ASD in adapting to the school environment and for their easier integration in the classroom collective. Among the most important are: visiting the school before starting school, peer-to-peer information transfer, structured learning, motivation and targeted work with the class collective. The cooperation of class teachers and teaching assistants is indispensable here. The special education centres have a major role in this issue, which are present in the entire process of adaptation and education of pupils with ASD.

Aspects of promoting well-being in primary school with focus on exceptionally gifted students

This thesis focuses on the wellbeing of students in education. Specifically, it concerns pupils of two parallel classes attending a primary school with a specific organization of education for exceptionally gifted pupils. The aim of the paper is to capture the pupil`s subjective feelings in relation to aspects of the school environment that have been implemented to promote pupil`s wellbeing. The first part of the thesis includes a theoretical background that summarizes the knowledge on the issue of wellbeing. It focuses on the aspects that may influence wellbeing in education, taking into account the teaching of exceptionally gifted pupils. The second part of the thesis contains a description and results of the actual research investigation, which was conducted in two stages. The first stage of the research investigation used a quantitative method of data collection through a questionnaire, the respondents were pupils in two parallel classes at a selected primary school. Based on the analysis of the results of the first stage of the research survey, the basis for the questions for the second stage of the research survey was created. The diploma thesis focus on building classroom community throuhg drama education. It examines and discovers the work in a team and the connestion of ties to the new class teacher. The selected pupil will be characterized by his behavior and relationship with his classmates. This diploma thesis focuses on monitoring the impact of methods and techniques of drama education on building the classroom climate of a given class in the fourth year of elementary school. He investigates and finds out about working in a team and connecting ties with the new class teacher. In the case of the selected student, he will characterize his behavior and relationship with his classmates. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the definition and concepts of drama education, as well as terminology from the field of school classroom climate, approaches. The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of „The tutor at the specialized High School.“ The main objective of the thesis is to describe a work of the Tutors at the current Czech school system. The thesis describes necesseary competences required for successful work of the tutor as well as the needed activities. This thesis includes various typologies and characteres of teachers as including their capabality of self-reflection and respect. Other topic refers to actual view of the Czech education system. The objective of the practical part is to resolve explorati-ve questions. By quantitative research and questionnaires we can find answer of the questions of pupils view of the class teacher and their satisfaction. The questionnaires research took part this year at spring.

The management of the adaptation course in high schools by the class teacher Palicová Petra 2022 ABSTRACT The diploma thesis deals with the issue of conducting adaptation courses at High schools. The main topic is the management of the courses by the class teachers themselves so that the course is beneficial for the collective, communication and the overall atmosphere of teaching. The adaptation course is seen here as one of the means by which school discipline can be aided and its appropriate form of management has a positive effect on teaching. In the practical part, the research is described, the aim of which was to analyse the process of designing and implementing an adaptation programme at High schools, with reference to the role of the class teacher. Quantitative research was chosen, the method of data collection was a questionnaire of own construction. Three hypotheses were formulated and chi-square was chosen to test them. The research population consisted of High school class teachers. The paper includes recommendations for the optimal approach of classroom teachers to the adaptation program at High scool.

Form lessons as a part of school strategies supporting contentment and safety feeling in primary school pupils.

The diploma thesis is focused on the importance of properly managed classroom classes, in terms of their impact on building good relationships in the classroom and creating a pleasant environment in primary school. It deals with their function, importance and benefit for individuals, and therefore for the whole team, including the class teacher. The content of this work also deals, for example, with the correct compilation of class rules, which contribute to the creation of a confidential and relaxed atmosphere in the class team, in which students are not afraid to speak and cooperate. Furthermore, the work clarifies why and how class classes should be held and what topics are appropriate to include in their thematic plans. The main goal of the thesis is to find out whether the classroom classes contribute to the creation of a safe and relaxed environment at the Elementary School Zdice u Berouna. To verify this goal, I will use qualitative methods, namely structured observation of students' groups during class classes and structured interviews. Both qualitative methods take place on the grounds of Zdice Elementary School. Annotation: Michaela Kaštánková Pecháčová's diploma thesis "The cooperation between family and school in the case of pupils with special educational needs from teachers' point of view" deals with the issues of school-family cooperation. It is divided into a theoretical part, which describes the functions of the family and school, forms of cooperation and communication between both parties. It also focuses on the role of educational counsellor and form teacher. Theoretical knowledge is mainly from the field of pedagogy, psychology, didactics and special pedagogy, as well as from professional experience. The second part of this thesis is the research. The research consists of two parts. The first part deals with the area of expertise of the educational counsellor during the online education. The second part researches the opinions of the teachers about the problematics of the cooperation between school and parents in primary educational system using qualitative interviews with teachers and subsequently their analysis.
