Parental attitudes towards the education of children with autism spectrum disorder

This diploma thesis provide a comprehensive list of information about the attitudes of parents towards education of children with autism spectrum disorders. The aim of this thesis is to determine how the parents receive a diagnosis of autism of their children and how they determine the access to education for their children as well. The theoretical part is based on literature, there are defined basic information about autism spectrum disorder, division of autism, causes symptoms of autism and finally information about parents with disabled children. This issue is focused to main autism spectrum disorders. There is mentioned technical assistance to families with ASD. Qualitative research, phenomenological approach and semi-structured interview designed to attitudes of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. Are used in the empirical part. Research shows the acceptance and coping with a diagnosis of autism, and changes to the education of children with ASD. Practical part was created on the basis of theoretical knowledge, my personal experience and research questions. Psychological aspects of parental care for children with autism spectrum disorders

The thesis concerns the topic of parental care for children with autism spectrum disorder. In the theoretical part there are described the main areas in which the autistic spectrum disorders manifest and the description of particular disorders. Next chapter describes this issue from point of view of parental care, it describes the difficulty of the situation, the impact on the lives of parents and whole families, factors affecting the adaptation to the situation and its overall management. The qualitative study was chosen for the research. The sample is composed of 11 mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder. Data for study was collected by half-structured interviews and supplemented by Logo-test. The results of study describe the impact of care for a child with autism spectrum disorder to the lives of parents, emotions in different situations, stressing and supporting aspects of the situation, scarce factors and external factors which the most affect the situation of parents. It seems that the situation causes numerous of changes in the lives of parents and affects their values and attitude to life. Preparation of a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder on Individual Integration at the Elementary School

The main aim of this bachelor's dissertation on the topic "The preparation of a child with autism spectrum disorder on individual integration at the elementary school" was to discover a way to prepare a child with autism spectrum disorder for individual integration into the main educational channel while they are in kindergarten. The dissertation is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part contains a total of four chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to demarcating the concept of the disorder of the autism spectrum, then to its characteristics and the classification of individual disorders. The second and third chapters focus on the possibilities of integration and its problems for children with autism spectrum disorder in the Czech Republic. The final chapter in the theoretical part describes special pedagogical approaches that find their place in the teaching of children with autism spectrum disorder. The practical part defines the stated aim of the work and research questions. In its sub-chapters the approach which was selected to reach the goal is laid out. In order to collect the data, a method was chosen which involved observation and semi-structural interviews. The research investigation itself contains three case studies of selected children who were chosen according to the criteria prescribed. The case studies proved that the kindergartens selected for preparation approached their task responsibly and made efforts to ensure that entrance into primary education is, for the child, as simple as possible. From the research it also arises that the kindergartens selected provide all the resources necessary so that attendance at the establishment is as effective as possible for the children and contributes to their overall development.
Reading comprehension in children with autism spectrum disorder in 6th and 9th grade

The submitted thesis deals with the matter of reading comprehension in pupils with autism spectrum disorders. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part we dealt with the issue of autism spectrum disorders, constituent diagnoses and the triad of disrupted areas. Further into thesis we presented the reader the fundamental cognitive theories which explain exhibitions within the range of autism spectrum disorders. Towards the end of thesis we dealt with reader's literacy with special emphasis on reading comprehension. The second part presents empirical research aimed at ascertainment of reading comprehension in pupils with autism spectrum disorders. The research sample consisted of sixth and ninth grade pupils diagnosed with Asperger syndrome from both primary and grammar school. The sample was supplemented with a control group which comprised intact pupils of the same grades. For the purposes of this study there were created new tests focusing on the level of reading comprehension. The first test aimed at reading comprehension with regard to silent reading, the second test observed reading comprehension in terms of loud reading. This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of students with autism spectrum disorder educated in elementary schools. The aim is to find out how teachers perceive these students. The theoretical part is focused on autism spectrum disorders, especially diagnosis of Asperger syndrome, students with this disorder, teachers and educational and training approaches to these students. The practical part explains the research metodology, which is based on semi-structured interviews with teachers who have experience with pupils with ASD a qualitative analysis of these interviews. Personality Development of Preschool Children. Use of Rhythmic Texts with Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The rhythmic text is irreplaceable in the life of every preschool child. The main pointof the theses is to find a way to make this development tool approach to children with autism spectrum disorder. Theses characterize rhythmic texts and discusses their importance in a child's life. It occused with personal and social education of preschool children. Based on the Rámcový vzdělávací program pro předškolní vzdělávání. We pay attention to the way visualized creating rhythmic texts and the possibility of their use in the kindergarten. We found that visualized poems and songs can affect not only the speed and accuracy of their learning, but also can become helpers in introducing methods of augmentative and alternative communication, as well as a means for developing games and creating new opportunities for social inclusion of children with autistic spectrum disorder.

Title: Specifics of motor development in children with autism spectrum disorder Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to summarize the accessible literary sources about possibilities of early diagnostic of autism spectrum disorders, characteristic features of motor development and presence of movement and other abnormalities during early development in children who were later diagnosed with some disorder of autism spectrum. Methods: The study is divided into two main parts. In the first part, general information about autism spectrum disorders is presented. The ethiopatogenesis, characteristic features and different types of autism spectrum disorders are described. The second, descriptively analitical part, contains a brief description and resume of many studies, which deal with early identification of autism spectrum disorder, with examination of features of autism spectrum disorder in early development and motor abnormalities in individuals with autism spectrum disorder or high risk infants. Coping with Stress in Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

in English: This diploma thesis is focused on parents coping with the burden of having children with autism spectrum disorder. It's goal is to analyze parent's strategy to cope with such burden in relation to taking care of a child with autistic spectrum disorder. Thesis is constructed as an emprical qualitativeresearch which also involves quantitative data. Data were acquired via half - structured interviews with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.Furthermore, a questionnaire SVF 78 "Strategy of stress management" was used and filled out by the parents. The data were subsequently qualitatively analyzed and interpreted using content analysis. Finally, a comparison to specialized literature was performed. The text of the thesis itself is composed of three parts. First part includes theoretical solutions that are based on both Czech and foreign literature concerned with autism theory and coping with stress of parents bringing up an autistic child. Second part is focusing on the methodology and data analysis procedure.
