Title: Specific changes on feet of rhythmic gymnasts and possibilities of physiotherapeutic influence of the feet with the help of a movement program Objectives: An objective of the thesis is to assess a function and specific changes on feet of rhythmic gymnasts and to demonstrate a positive influence of a movement program on these changes and the deteriorated function of the foot. To summarize the results of existing studies focused on influencing of proper function of the foot and to gain useful information from this experiment not only for physiotherapists, trainers and modern gymnasts but also for laical, actively sporting public which exhibit the same issues with the foot area Methods: The main essence of this scientific-research quantitative study is an influencing of deteriorated function and specific changes on feet of rhythmic gymnasts with the help of a movement program. The program was performed after each practice (i.e. 4 times a week) through the course of 3 months. 10 probands in the age from 14 to 17 years participated in the program. The experiment was based on the method of a comparison of 2 questionnaires and an entrance and exit kinesiological analysis, the part of which was also a test according to Véle (with visual control/without visual control) and a plantogram. For their...
Voices of Native American women: the life narratives of Sarah Winnemucca, Zitkala-Sa, Maria Campbell and Leslie Marmon Silko
Nováková, Tereza ; Procházka, Martin (advisor) ; Kolinská, Klára (referee)

In the opening part, the work presents the genre providing its several definitions and tracing its origins. Further, it briefly summarizes the history of autobiography with a special focus on American literature and it introduces the genre of Native American autobiography and explains its particularities. Because the work deals with Native American women, the beginning also discusses their past and present social position and their first literary VOICeS. The central part of the thesis investigates four distinct autobiographical narratives written by Native American women at different times and it surveys the main themes that dominate the genre ofNative American woman autobiography. Although all discussed books are labeled as the autobiographies, they m1x together a number of various areas and genres such as history, sociology, mythology, ethnography, political documents, and many others. Native American oral storytelling forms the fundamental base in the analyzed texts, but it is the most experimental autobiography of Leslie Marmon Silko that is wholly constructed as the process of storytelling when her stories carry formal characteristics of Indian oral tales such...
Prevalence of asymmetric lateral disability on musculoskeletal apparatus in the neonatal age and infancy
Hanzlová, Andrea ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Prevalence of asymmetric lateral disability on musculoskeletal apparatus in the neonatal age and infancy. Objective: The purpose of this research thesis was to compile issues of possible types of asymmetric musculoskeletal impairment observed in neonates and infants, identify potential causes of these asymmetries and lateral predilection for reported types of asymmetries. The main subject of discussion are just found lateral predilection of asymmetries and relationship of their causes with prenatal, perinatal or postnatal period. Methods: This thesis is structured in the form of literary research and has descriptively- analytical character. Results: On the basis of the analysis of available sources about the asymmetric musculoskeletal impairment in neonates and infants a comprehensive picture of possible types of these impairment, their causes and lateral predilections was made. The vast majority of reported asymmetric impairment seems related to prenatal or perinatal period. Key words: asymmetry in infancy, birth injuries, congenital defects, positional preference

Foot Arch in Childhood
Kellerová, Kateřina ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Author: Bc. Kateřina Kellerová Title: Foot Arch in Childhood Problem definition: The most often diagnosis related to the foot arch in childhood is definitely flexible flat foot also called pes planovalgus. Because of that this thesis will be mostly oriented on this diagnosis. There are many articles about flexible flat foot and many studies were oriented on this problem. The informations about etiology, influencing factors or therapy are sometimes discordant in different articles. But almost all of them contain one same statement which says that the prevalence of this diagnosis is decreasing as the foot arch is changing during the child's growth. It means in older children there is not flexible flat foot so often as in the younger ones. But there is no detailed description of the dynamics of these changes of the foot arch in childhood. Aim of this thesis: The aim of this thesis is to find out the development of the foot arch in children of pre-school age. In other words to run the survey to find out the changes of the foot arch in children of pre-school age which occurs in six months. Method: The survey contains anamnesis questionnare for parents and also these examinations: footprints, examination of joint laxity, mobility of hip joint, position of knee, patellae and heel, Jack's test, posibility...
Influence of intra-abdominal pressure on stability of the lumbar spine
Fridrychová, Dagmar ; Šorfová, Monika (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title of thesis: Influence of intra-abdominal pressure on the stability of the lumbar spine Definition of the problem: This thesis addresses the problem of the stabilization mechanism of the lumbar spine and the influence of intra-abdominal pressure on the stability of the lumbar spine. Objectives: The aim of my thesis is to locate, evaluate and process all available resources and to bring up the issue of IAP and its influence on the lumbar spine. The work should provide the widest possible insight into the problems of IAP effects on the stability of the lumbar spine, summarize differing opinions, and allow easier orientation in the isme. Method: The work is treated as a search, focusing on the processing and retrieval of literature concerning the issue. Studies included range from 1953 to present. To which I will use a variety of sources of literature, internet and consultation with the head of my thesis. Results: The increase in IAP, which is provided by a synchronous contraction of the diaphragm, pelvic floor muscles and m. transversus abdominis, can effectively stabilize the spine. But you can not determine with certainty whether this mechanism to support the stability of the lumbar spine is indeed used or the stability is provided by contraction of muscles, leading to an increase in IAP, and...
Evaluation of the immediate influence of physical activity on the quality of postural functions of basketball players
Mudruňková, Michaela ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the immediate influence of physical activity on the quality of postural functions of basketball players Author: Bc. Michaela Mudruňková Supervisor: PhDr. Tereza Nováková, PhD. Problem definition: Difficulties in the evaluation of the quality of postural functions and in the establishment of a so-called ideal posture stem from the diversity of views of different authors. Posture is definitely not the same as standing, but unfortunately many of the tests for postural functions evaluation focus only on that. Postural stability can be measured using device methods as well, but these devices are not available everywhere. Therefore, I have tried to create my own set of tests, which would best meet all requirements: simplicity, speed, availability and complexity of testing and evaluation of the quality of postural functions. Physical activity is followed by fatigue of the organism (decreased muscle strength, impaired movement coordination, ...). In my thesis I try to explain how fatigue manifests itself on the quality of postural functions and how to best assess the quality of postural functions using simple tests. The aim: The aims of this thesis are to develop an appropriate set of tests for evaluation of the quality of postural functions and to investigate the effects of different...
