Didactic exploitation of the francophonie in the islands of the Indian Ocean

This diploma thesis, Didactic exploitation of the francophonie on the islands of the Indian Ocean, resulted from insufficient outcomes of a questionnaire focusing on the francophonie and francophone facts of the overseas territories located in the Indian Ocean. The diploma thesis consists of three main parts which are subsequently divided into subchapters. The first part explains the choice, focus and targets of the questionnaire and provides its evaluation as well. The theoretical part aims at clarifying and defining receptive and productive competence from a didactic viewpoint with regard to language level A2 and B1, given by CEFRL. The practical part follows with a description of created worksheets always containing exercises that aim firstly at receptive competence- reading, and then at productive competence- writing. Texts together with exercises focus on geographical facts, culture and tradition, language situation and language oddities of the following French overseas territories in the Indian Ocean: Réunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, Seychelles, Comoros, and Mauritius. Media education - incorporation into language education and teaching materials for teachers of English

Messages delivered by the media are often used as a source of authentic texts in language teaching, yet there is not a sufficient amount of works dealing with the connection between media education and language teaching. The theoretical part of this thesis, therefore, tries to describe this relationship from the perspective of media studies, linguistics and language teaching methodology. The aim of this work is to create teaching materials incorporating media education into teaching English as a foreign language. The materials consist of worksheets for students and methodological support for teachers. Toxic plants in teaching of biology at secondary schools

This diploma thesis is dedicated to teaching botany, and is focused namely on lessons concerning toxic plants. The first part deals with creating of worksheets for secondary school students for field trip into Botanic Garden of Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The second part compares effectiveness of classical lesson and the field trip. Students of the first grades from four secondary schools (grammar schools) were divided into two groups.The first group was taught by classic conventional teaching in classroom (control group) and the second group (experimental) was taken for the field trip to the Botanic Garden of Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The effectiveness of education was measured by means of a knowledge test before the lesson (pre-test) and after it (post-test). Level of knowledge increased in experimental groups and control groups, however, the difference between individual groups was not significant. Biological and Geological Excursions for second degree of primary school in the Třebíč areas

The aim of the presented master thesis is to prepare, realise and evaluate an efficiency of the alternative method of biology (natural history) teaching at second grade of primary school via excursion into natural areas of the Třebíč region. Four field trips dealing with botanical, zoological, geological and ecological focuses were realised. The theoretical part of the thesis is characterised the Třebíč region focusing on several different natural aspects with an emphasis on an interesting natural sites in this region that are suitable for teaching. Specific teaching methods that are useful for field trips are included in this part of the thesis. The practical part described four field trips including methodical instructions for teachers. Other didactic materials and worksheets are added in the appendices. The empirical part contains questionnaires and didactic tests that are used to monitor specific attitudes of 120 pupils from primary schools to teaching of natural, field trips and worksheets. The questionnaire results definitely proved the following: a) the biology (natural history) classes are among the favourite subjects of the 2nd grade primary school, b) most pupils considered the field trips as interesting and informative, c) worksheets are useful but do not enjoy it. Life situations in literature. Worksheets for ninth grade of secondary schools

The possible approach towards the teaching of literature at the 9th grade level of primary education is the central topic of this thesis. The main idea is to base literature teaching on a system of working sheets, which relate to extracts from 4 selected books. These books have a common theme; real-life situations relevant to students of the 9th grade. Such theme has been preselected on the author's perception that students are becoming less in contact with the literary world, thus seeking a path to bring students closer to it. The goal is to show pupils the relevance and practical use of literature, with the use of diverse tasks and assignments and to convince them that reading may be entertaining as well as educating. A specific characteristic of the thesis is the fact that the research has been carried out in a given classroom at one of Prague's primary schools, where the author teaches Czech Language and Literature. Therefore, a key element of the thesis is the discussion of first hand findings and lessons-learned during these lessons. On the basis of the working sheet system trial results in class, this method proves to be efficient. Creation and validation of chemistry worksheets for lower grades students of grammar school

Inclusion of learning exercises intended to acquisition of schoolwork is desirable in majority of science subjects. This diploma thesis deals with creation of chemistry worksheets for 8th and 9th grade pupils of secondary school and forpupils of corresponding grades of lower grammar schools. Research of contemporary literature mostly chosen workbooks and worksheets available on the Internet isincluded in the thesis. The main part of the thesis was creation of worksheets on diferent themes in chemisty education according to RVP ZV. Created worksheets were verified and evaluated at schools. The thesis brings new possibilities how to deal with teaching some of the chemistry topics using pre-prepared worksheets, which contain mostly exercises for acquiring new schoolwork.
Creation and testing of educational materials for the Geological park of Faculty of Science

The thesis is focused on use of the geological science park as a mean of acquiring and developing knowledge in the field of geoscience disciplines in the teaching of natural science, biology and geography at primary schools and secondary grammar schools. This thesis consists of a general retrieval of teaching geoscientific disciplines at basic schools and secondary grammar schools based on the national curriculum standarts including description of actual situation in a selected school where my teaching praxis took place. Worksheets for pupils and methodical materials for teachers will be created as means to support teaching in the geological park. Finally, the potential of the created materials will be evaluated from the attractiveness and better remembering of knowledge in geoscience disciplines point of view. Fungi in the Teaching of Natural History and Biology

This diploma thesis deals with mushrooms (Fungi) and their inclusion in the teaching of natural sciences and biology. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with textbooks of natural history and biology in relation to the issue, the characteristics of the mushroom kingdom (Fungi), their structure, systematic division and meaning. The content also includes an analysis of the issue of fungi (Fungi) in the FEP for basic education, in the FEP for grammar schools and in selected school educational programs. The following is an analysis of a textbook of natural history and biology from various publishers focusing on the topic of fungi (Fungi). The work also includes proposals for worksheets and practical exercises that will introduce students to the issue of mushrooms in an interesting way. The thesis contains an interview with eight teachers form practice about how they implement the teaching of this topic in their lessons. In the research part, I present the results of the analysis of science and biology textbooks in the form of text, tables and graphs. I also present the results of interviews with teachers from primary schools and higher grammar schools in the form of text and tables. Literature of the microregion of Krnovsko in teaching at the 2nd level of elementary school

This bachelor thesis contains materials, which help to involve the literature of Krnov microregion in the class at the secondary school. Theoretical part of the thesis is about Krnov microregion and ethnic changes, which happened during the years of 20th century. The knowledge of this theoretical part provides self-study materials for teacher. The practical part contains worksheets with samples of work by writers connected to Krnov. There are an introduction of the writer, methodological guidelines for teachers and worksheets answer key. The aim of worksheets is to know the regional identity of the student and meet the school syllabus through the literature theory class. The work with regional literature can be applied to any class at the secondary school due to worksheets versatility.
