How pupils use ICT when doing school homework

The goals of this thesis are: to find out what role do information and communication technologies (ICT) play in learning and students' preparation for school and in what conditions and means are students using ICT for school preparation in non-school settings; and to show the current state of digital technology usage by students for school purposes, but also to hint at the potential challenges in the implementation and usage of information and communication technologies. The theoretical part consists of three aspects; it introduces the terms preparation for school and learning using information and communication technologies; analyzes the current relation of curricular documents to using ICT in schools, and summarizes results from thematically-related research. The research part of this thesis presents the results of the quantitative and qualitative research inquiry into selected high-school students and their teachers/educators. The goal of this inquiry was to determine what methods and in what conditions are students using ICT in their school preparation.
Printed Books vs eBooks: What, Why and How Does Generation Y Read?

The aim of the thesis 'Printed Books vs. eBooks: What, Why and How Does Generation Y Read?' is to uncover what motivates a group of young people, specifically twenty students attending universities based in Prague, to choose either printed or electronic books. Furthermore, while using the qualitative method of semi-structured interview it was also the aim of this thesis not only to describe and analyse how important are the social aspects of books as well as the ways of acquiring them, but similarly to get a better understanding of how Generation Y perceives books. For this reason the conducted research could be beneficial to an academic area of interest, while correspondingly valuable for publishers, bookshops or e-reader manufacturers and their marketing strategies. Practical research is built upon a relevant theoretical basis: history of reading, characterization of printed and electronic books, together with a Czech book market summary and an introduction of Generation Y. In addition, the fourth chapter presents methods used when conducting the research, particularly Grounded Theory. Class Management as Teacher's Managerial Activity

The topic of the thesis is class management as teacher'smanagerial activity. The aim of the thesis is, based on the perused documents, and the interview analysis made with three primary classteachers and three secondary classteachers, to draw a set and description of all manager competition and class management related activities. The thesis is supposed to become the source material for a comprehensive meta analysis of managerialcompetence in a teacher's professiography. Within the theoretical part, the thesis focuses on the comparisonof a teacher and a manager. There search section, using qualitative approach, deals with the issue of class management as managerial activity. The half-structured interview with six respondents have been used as a method, which are further analysed and the conclusion of the thesis has been elicited based on them.
Gender Equality in Preschool Education

The diploma thesis deals with gender aspects of preschool education from kindergartens leading's view. The main aim was to research situation and approach to gender equality in preschool education. Because of it I have decided to focus on knowledge and attitude of leading of kindergartens and their importance to preschool curriculum and also to order of children group from the gender perspective. The theoretical part summarizes findings about school socialization, preschool institutions and documents about curriculum. This part also focus on viewpoint of character of institutional children education, studies of school and preschool socialization and the aspects which are cause for feminization of preschool education. The empirical part introduces the methodological steps of the research. That means method, data collecting or the way of questioning which work on the constructivism and critical theory. This offers the results of analysis of semi-structured interviews. Do we need more information? Using of multiple media at the same time

The diploma thesis named "Do we need more information? Using of multiple media at the same time" examines the phenomen of simultaneous media usage in young audience aged 18-35 years. This thesis is based on the hypotheses of international surveys that demonstrate a new trend in consumption of media by which people use multiple media simultaneously. The aim of the thesis is to provide an insight into this issue. The first part defines basic concepts such as the media, media audience and related theories. Furthermore, international studies and their conclusions are presented, serving as a starting point for my own research. The second part presents the research methodology. The thesis makes use of a combination of a quantitative and qualitative approach, the so-called mixed research. The methodological section briefly describes the selected method - survey and an semi-structured interview. The next two sections deal with the implementation of the research itself. The sample consisted of 103 young people for the quantitative part of the survey, and 15 young people for the qualitative analysis section. Motivating factors influencing the work of directors of nursery school

Master's thesis entitled Motivating factors influencing the work of directors of nursery schools aims to identify motivational factors influencing the work of headmasters. The main objective of the research is to determine which of motivation, stimulation, and demotivating factors affect headmasters of nursery schools of the Pardubice Region. Based on quantitative and qualitative research lead to the fulfillment of specific objectives. The first partial objective is to conclude from created questions for a research and carrying out research among nursery schools among Managers of Pardubice region through a questionnaire survey and subsequent analysis of the data,what motivational factors, stimulation, demotivating and to what extent, affect the work of directors of nursery schools in Pardubice region. The second partial objective is to compare the motivational factors influencing the work of selected directors surveyed of nursery schools in Pardubice region at different stages of their professional development and to identify changes in the scope of these factors of motivation. Vedoucí diplomové práce PhDr. Irena Reifová, Ph.D. Abstract This thesis in its theoretical work focuses on the topic parasocial interaction, a specific relationship between fans and celebrities. This fundamental concept is initially set in a broader context. Closer are characterized by celebrities as a publicly-known media figures, and the audience as active recipients of stimulus. There is a concept called. Ordinary stars, as well as focus on issues not only fandom, but also specific terms such as adoration and celebrity stalking celebrities. After outlining the basic theoretical insight is explored basic concept - parasocial relationship. The practical part with respect to the overall theme of the work is carried out using semi-structured interviews with rock stars, fans steady on one side and ordinary fans of the stars on the other. Based on the results and authentic materials are analyzed each category. The work aims to explore how similar concepts related to celebrities, as well as different approaches to media stars.
Audience perception to the paradoxical narrative in the series Game of Thrones

The thesis "Audience reception to the paradoxical narrative in the series Game of Thrones" focuses on the research of the audience and its reactions to the unusual plot twists in the series Game of Thrones producted by HBO. The Audience and its reactions to specifically selected twists were researched through qualitative methods of deep semi-structured interview which was carried out with ten respondents. "Primary" audience, i.e. the viewers who had not read any books from the Ice and Fire saga before watching the show, was choosen as a research sample for this study. Reactions of this audience are more spontaneous and unpredictable. The primary aim of the research is to find out how viewers react to the newly defined paradoxical narrative in the Game of Thrones series and why they keep watching this series despite its unusual plot twists.

The nature of work is theoretical work and research. In the theoretical part are defined basic concepts like community, community work, community project, minority and examples of organizations working with minorities through community projects. Research is based on semi-structured interviews within field examine, which introduces a view to Organisation Český západ, public participation in the implementation of community projects, what projects are highly relevant, to the skills acquired and in what situations seek the services of this organization in 2015. Their utterances are analyzed and interpreted in relation to individual objectives of this work. On the basis of this examine it was found that for informants was important to by employed.
