Modern school management with ICT support

Cílem této práce je zjistit, jak využít ICT pro řízení ve školství. Pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů zmapovat současný přístup managementu základních škol k problematice ICT v řízení školy. V práci jsou vymezeny pojmy management a ICT, stejně tak shromážděna východiska tématu z aktuálních výzkumů, zpráv, nástrojů a strategie vzdělávání ČR. Výsledky pedagogického výzkumu mezi řediteli základních škol jsou v závěru konfrontovány s publikovanými výzkumy a závěry. To monitor current attitude of basic school management to the topic ICT in school management, due to half- structured interviews with principal. In this work are defined notions: management and ICT, as collected terminus a quo of the topic: current researches, informations, tools and strategy of education Czech Republic. Results of the pedagogical research among principals of the elementary school are compared with published researches and conclusions in the end of the work. Changeover of school culture after taking the office of director by a director of kindergarten

Jiří Trunda ABSTRAKT The changeover of kindergarten culture after taking the office by a new director This bachelor project deals with problems of the alteration in the school culture after assuming the office of Director. The theoretical part is based on scientific literature, which explains a culture of the school, its diagnostics, the evaluation and consequent changes. The research part tries to investigate the actual situation of the school culture in the specific institution. It attempts to identify problematic factors of school culture using analysis of data and find out how to initiate a convenient process leading to alteration of school culture. The question was if it is necessary to involve employees in the process or leave this difficult task on a director. The answer to the question "How to change a school culture" is certainly very difficult, because of different conditions in each school, different people working in the school and last but not least different values and attitudes, which they share. The goal of the project was to verify specific cases (in the specific conditions) by using general methods...
Rituals in the school environment

Rituals in the school environment, specifically in small schools with composite classes, are the subject of the diploma thesis. The theoretical part describes the environment of the small schools with composite classes in the Czech Republic and the specifics of teaching work in them. They are also discussed the rituals in general terms and the relationship to the hidden curriculum in this part. Specific rituals in contemporary small schools are described in following sections. The research part is conceived as a qualitative analysis of structured interviews with teachers and directors of small schools. The diploma thesis ends with a synthesis of empirical and theoretical part and with interpretation the results. The overlap of topics related to the problem that is mentioned in the conclusion.
School Uniform: Reasons, Discussion, Decision Making

Innovation and change are phenomenons any time. Within the scope of the Theory and Prac- tice of School Management module, the theses deals with management of a specific change, namely introduction of school uniforms into practice. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on relevant specialized literature on school management, marketing strategy, school culture and change management. It is completed with available foreign experience and con- clusions of surveys and research of media image, which is playing an important role in respect with the issue. The practical part, i.e. research, provides information and data obtained by the author from interviews with management of schools currently introducing school uniforms. The research results show that the original expectations have not been met in any of the pro- jects included. Understanding the cause of this failure, or else, partial success of the projects, constitutes an important part of the information summary designed for school headmasters considering introduction of school uniforms. The generalized research findings combined with theoretical knowledge imply a set of key recommendations introduced in the thesis con- clusion.
Teacher cooperation as the basis of the educational process

The thesis is divided in two parts. The first theoretical part defines the term cooperation and deals with the question of cooperation and individualism in school environment. It also reflects the documents where cooperation is explicitly mentioned. It shows the influence of school culture and climate on the development of cooperation, and it studies the climate of teacher-staff, and the role of the leadership in teachers' cooperation. The thesis further tries to map the reasons for refusing cooperation and define the environment that would encourage and support cooperation among teachers. At the same time, it identifies obstacles that prevent cooperation. It is aimed at mapping the areas and forms of cooperation used in school systems and various levels in which the teachers are wiling to cooperate. The practical part contains an exploratory study aimed at discovering the actual situation in teachers' cooperation in Primary/Lower Secondary Schools in the capital city Prague and a good practice examples that present options of cooperation among teachers in a Primary and Lower Secondary School in Prague 2.
Moral Education in Relation to Civil Society. Case Study of Students and Teachers at Chosen Primary School

The main aim of this thesis is to look at school as a place where children learn values con-nected with civil society. It tries to answer the question "How can schools prepare their students for participation in civil society with regard to values". This answer will be an-swered by studying of literature focused on this issue and by a research at chosen elemen-tary school. Design of research is taken from study of Klaassen and Huwae (2006) which has been done recently at Netherland elementary schools. There is no study like that in the Czech Republic and this thesis should bring basic information about this issue.
