Function of clothing and identity in adolescents
Ciencialová, Eva ; Levínská, Markéta (advisor) ; Doubek, David (referee)
This work focuses on fashion and its function in a class at school, mainly with adolescets. Pupils of the eight grade at primary school were involved for comparation and students of the second year of high school were involved. The main questions are: What these young people consider as fashionable? Do they percieve the fashion to be an instrument to achieve any goals? What can certain clothing enable to them? The aim was to map the importance that students attach to the clothing, and the allocation of the various functions of a clothes according to their importance. This is all in connection with the formation of identity, which is the main developmental task in the period of adolescence. Following methods were used in order to collect information: observation, short completing interviews and questionnaire, which was fundamental. This questionnaire consisted of three parts. The first part was focused on what do they consider as fashionable, the second part was focused on personal preferences and the third part was focused on the functions of clothing. On the basis of the analysis of questionnaires and other data, have been set fashion trends and the function of clothes, which are described according to the importance. Also been found a social group created on the basis of the modes and relations....
Musical Attitudes of Children and Their Belief System
Stratil, Petr ; Váňová, Hana (advisor) ; Kodejška, Miloš (referee)
4 Summary Exploring the musical preferences in relation to other aspects of human life has a long tradition. The present work is focused on exploring musical preferences with regard to personal value system. The research was designed as mixed method using questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The research sample consisted of 18 pupils aged 16 years. An important part of the research was music questionnaire that tried to clarify those genres, that are not familiar to respondents. Results of the music questionnaire were used as the basis for selection of respondents according to the preferential groups and to compare these groups in relation to certain musical attitudes, home musical environment and above all value system. The overall results of the research point to a very slight tendency to group certain specifics of the respondents which prefer hip hop, metal and classical music. On the contrary, results show a demonstrable impact of home music environment in shaping musical preferences. The unexpected outcome of present study is finding that listeners using the music questionnaire rated more positive the same genre of music compared to rating genres only by their concepts about each genre. Key words Musical preferences, musical genre, value system, adolescents, home musical environment, mixed...
Connection Between Attitude Toward Music of Parents and Their Children
Stratil, Petr ; Váňová, Hana (advisor) ; Kodejška, Miloš (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on connection between attitude toward music of parents and their children. The goal of the thesis was a questionnaire survey on the sample of adolescent population and their parents, analysis of results and evaluation of hypotheses. 123 pupils of secondary school, 94 fathers and 120 mothers took part in research. Pupils and their parents filled in the questionnaires that were subsequently conjugated and analyzed concerning the connections between them. Hypotheses supposed significant parents' influence toward their children in selfassessment of musical skills, parents' musical experience affecting children musical education and finaly indirect effect of parents on children's musical preferences. Findings of research indicate stronger alliance between mothers' musical attitudes and attitudes of children. In spite of common perception, which supposes deep generation gap between children and their parents in the field of music, research results indicate, that parents and children often accept their favourite music respectivelly, or at least they know it. However, it is impossible to assert, that children simply copy music attitudes of their parents. The way of acquiring music differs between parents and childern dramatically; children are used to download music recordings on...
Correlation of human figure and tree drawings
Matoušková, Tereza ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kučera, Miloš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the figure drawing test and the tree test from the projective point of view, based on the books written by Zdeněk Altman. I focus on the interconnection between these two kinds of drawings. The thesis contains the basic characteristics of these two methods and discussion about their scientific basis. I describe the process of using the books as manuals for drawing analysis. This thesis also contains results of drawing analysis and characterization of their authors. Fifteen adolescents placed in a children's home participated in research. In conclusion, I address the correlation of both drawings.
Genetic study of obesity in children
Říhová, Aneta ; Daňková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Novota, Peter (referee)
Obesity is multifactorial dissease. Genetics factors participate in its origin of 40-70% (Barsh et al., 2000). Incidence of obesity is associated with a number of complications, which affect quality of life and abbreviate its length. It is projected in constantly younger age and its prevalence in the world grows. Even though several hundred genetics markers associated with obesity have been described, we still do not know all causes, which complicates efficiancy of treatment. Subject of this study was research of selected genes and their polymorphisms: FABP2 (rs1799883) and PLIN (rs1052700 and rs894160). The aim was to establish association between genotypes and antropometric and biochemical parameters related to obesity in group of 299 children and adolescents aged 7-18 years. Next goal was to establish whether these polymorphisms affect success of reduction therapy. SNP associations with antropometric and/or biochemical parameters were evaluated for boys and girls separately. Observed genotype frequencies between sex did not differ and they were in accordance with those explored in other populations. In rs1799883 polymorphism neither association with measured anthropometric and biochemical parameters nor effect on weight loss during reduction therapy have been found. The TT homozygote subjects of...
Definition of new referential values of maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures and P0.1 values in normal population of the 16 - to - 17 age range
Kálalová, Tereza ; Šulc, Jan (advisor) ; Koudelková, Alena (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to define norms for inspiratory (Pimax) and expiratory (Pemax) pressures and mouth occlusion pressure (P0.1) in healthy white population of the 16-17 age group in the Czech Republic, specifically the capital city of Prague and its close vicinity. Furthermore, this work aspires to ascertain whether there is a correlation between the respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric and pulmonary values. In order to define the norms, 79 children were tested, including 41 boys and 38 girls 16 to 17 years old. After establishing the subjects' case histories, anthropometric, spirometric inspiratory, expiratory and forced vital capacity measurements were made. The study defined the norms of respiratory pressures and P0.1 in 16 to 17-year-old boys and girls, thus achieving its main goal. Furthermore, a difference was found between the average measured Pimax and Pemax values for boys and girls, with the boys showing higher values comparing with the girls. The study did not ascertain a correlation between respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric values (age, height, weight, BMI, BSA). No correlation was found between respiratory pressures and static pulmonary volumes. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Heroes of the troubled children
Timurová, Lenka ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Mazehóová, Yvona (referee) ; Chrz, Vladimír (referee)
The dissertation thesis points to a wide range of possibilities of therapeutic use with fairy-tale material and at the same time offers a concrete example of working with adolescents with educational problems. We worked with ten respondents, 5 boys and 5 girls who were clients of the Center for Educational Care. Based on the assumption that the fairy tale metaphor represents a non-threatening stimulus, the respondents were asked to formulate their own lives into a fairy tale. All participants were willing to work with a fairy-tale metaphor even on subjectively unpleasant topics, and in none of the stories did we encounter any significant resistance. The analysis of stories through Propp's morphology of the fairy tale brought a characteristic story of a child with an educational problem and at the same time proved to be a meaningful therapeutic tool. The analysis of the data through a narratively oriented approach inspired by McAdams and his identity as a life story yielded a demonstration of the identity of an adolescent with educational problems. An important outcome of the work is the evaluation of the internally experienced responsibility of this specific group of adolescents. Keywords: adolescents, risk behavior, fairy tale, life story, therapeutic tool
