Expert System for Decision-Making on Stock Markets Using Investor Sentiment

The presented dissertation examines the potential of using the sentiment score extracted from textual data with historical stock index data to improve the performance of stock market prediction through the created model of the expert system. Given the large number of financial-related text documents published by both professional and amateur investors, not only on online social networks that could have an impact on real stock markets, but it is also crucial to analyze and in particular extract financial texts published by different users. investor sentiment. In this work, investor sentiment is obtained from online financial reports and contributions published on the financial social platform StockTwits. Sentiment scores are determined using a hybrid approach combining machine learning models with the teacher and neural networks, with multiple lexicons of positive and negative words used to classify sentiment polarity. The influence of sentiment score on the stock market through causality, cointegration and coherence is analyzed. The dissertation proposes a model of an expert system based on fuzzy logic methods. Fuzzy logic provides remarkable features when working with vague, inaccurate or unclear data and is able to deal with the chaotic environment of stock markets. In recent scientific studies, it has gained in popularity a higher level of fuzzy logic, which is referred to as type-2 fuzzy logic. Unlike the classic type-1 fuzzy logic, this higher type is able to integrate a certain level of uncertainty between the dual membership functions. However, this type of expert system is considerably neglected in the subject issue of stock market prediction using the extracted investor sentiment. For this reason, the dissertation examines the potential to use and the performance of type-2 fuzzy logic. Specifically, several type-2 fuzzy models are created. which are trained on historical stock index data and sentiment scores extracted from text data for the period 2018-2020. The created models are assessed to measure the prediction performance without sentiment and with the integration of investor sentiment. Subsequently, based on the created expert model, the investment strategy is determined, and its profitability is monitored. The prediction performance of fuzzy models is compared with the performance of several comparison models, including SVM, KNN, naive Bayes and others. It has been observed from experiments that fuzzy logic models are able to improve prediction by appropriate setting of membership and uncertainty functions contained in them and are able to compete with classical expert prediction models, which are standardly used in research studies. The created model should serve as a tool to support investment decisions for individual investors.

Abstract This thesis is dedicated to a specific type of literary film art called rather innovatively in the paper as "a fictive screenplay". It is a literary work of art which uses different forms established as a basis for a transformation of a written art to a film: film thesis, libretto, literary or technical scenario. So called "fictive scenarios" are different from other creations of this type primarily by the apparent intention of the author to see them as a complete piece of art in its printed form without any ambitions or actual need for subsequent realization of its film version. The composition of the paper is based on a study of the relevant materials and is divided into three parts. The first part covers a compilation of texts collected by screen editor Kurt Pinthus in the 1910's (Das Kinobuch, the oldest Czech "fictive scenarios"). Web Browser Extension for Page Analysis

The purpose of this thesis is to create a WebExtensions oriented module for a web browser. An extension module allows the user to submit details about the currently displayed web page and text content to a server application for thorough analysis and displaying the result. It is built on ExtensionAPIs, but is also supported in WebExtensions based web browsers. The communication between the extension module and the server is realized by XMLHttpRequest and the server application itself is implemented in PHP.

Monument as the materialization of memory in relation to the current generation and the role of the media

The thesis "Monument as the materialization of memory in relation to the current generation and the role of the media" is devoted to the analysis of media discourse of contemporary memorials. The discourse of contemporary memorials is represented in the thesis by media coverage in the Czech periodical printed media regarding to two memorials installed in the Czech Republic. The first is a monument of General Patton in Pilsen and the second is a monument of the Czechoslovak RAF aviators in Prague - Klárov. Examined media coverage related to memorial scandal in Deník VLP, Mladá fronta DNES, Lidové noviny, Blesk, Metro, Haló noviny and Právo belong to the years: 2005, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2015. The form of contemporary memorial discourse was examined with the help of multiple methods including quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis represented by textual and argumentative analysis. Based on the combination of the mentioned methods basic form of the discourse of contemporary memorials was described with the main focus on media communication containing the topic of foreign affairs and the concept of memory. Structures and themes of Yusuf Idris' short stories

This bachelor's thesis deals with the artistic development of the Egyptian writer Yusuf Idris (1927-1991). Based on the study of two short stories collections it describes the changes in his writing from the 1960s to the 1980s. To achieve this goal, the thesis uses the terminology of the theory of fictional worlds developed by Lubomír Doležel, which provides a suitable tool for the characterisation of themes and techniques in Idris' works. Starting from Idris' realistic worlds of the 1950s, the thesis tracks and explains the fundamental change that his writing later underwent. The essential socio-political context is also given. Through detailed textual analysis of selected short stories, the thesis concludes that author's fictional worlds from the 1980s are darker, more self-contained and complicated, despite of some continuity of themes and structural techniques used throughout Idris' work.

Hispanoamerican Literary Tradition as Reflected in the Jorge Luis Borges' Works

The aim of the work is to present Argentinian literary tradition as reflected in the Jorge Luis Borges' essays and collections of poems from his early creative period (twentieth and thirtieth of 20th century). The corpus of the analyzed works is created by three collections of poems - Passion for Buenos Aires, Moon across the Way, San Martin Copybook and three books of essays - Evaristo Carriego, The Size of My Hope and The language of the Argentines. At the beginning, the text is focused on Argentinian (respectively on Hispanoamerican) cultural context at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Then, the text continues by analysis of six Borges' books mentioned above reflecting five most important Argentinian motives - pampa, gaucho, compadrito, Buenos Aires and its suburbs and dictator. The author notices different attitudes to Argentinian topic and concludes that Argentina symbolizes very important theme, which is influenced also by Borges' predecessors (e. g. The Christian Spirituality in the Modern Egyptian Prose

This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to understanding of themes of the Christian spirituality and the Coptic identity in the novels H̱ālatī Ṣafīya wa-ad-dayr (My Aunt Ṣafiyya and the Monastery, 1991) and Ḥiǧārat Būbillū (Stones of Apollo, 1993) by two important Egyptian authors Bahā' Ṭāhir and Idwār al-Kharrāṭ. By means of textual analysis of the two novels, the thesis analyses the significance of space and place in the narrative construction, the use of the Christian symbolics in the description of the Coptic community and a possibility of literary fiction extending into to the real world and its impact on the formation of the Coptic culture. Forensic analysis of anonymization strategies in English

The objective of this thesis is to identify those specific aspects of written style which native speakers of English modify when attempting to anonymize their texts. The conclusions are based on the analysis of 20 texts by 10 authors, all of whom are native speakers of English. Two texts dealing with the same topic were produced by each participant; one was written as an official letter of complaint, and the other was written as an anonymous letter. The bulk of the results are grounded on a qualitative stylistic analysis of the individual texts, with merely a brief survey of quantitative methods.The purpose of the introductory chapter is to familiarize the reader with the subject of forensic authorship analysis, to provide a brief summary of the current state of research, and to introduce a series of empirical studies. The practical part of the thesis presents the qualitative stylistic analysis, provides a shorter summary of the quantitative analysis, and finally ventures to draw meaningful conclusions from the results. The results showed that the majority of authors manipulated with the style/register of the texts and with the specific lexical choices, whereas none of the 10 authors made alterations to spelling and only 2 authors chose to change the punctuation in the anonymous text. Textual Analysis of the Extant Text of The Secret History of the Mongols

Textual Analysis of the Extant Original of The Secret History of the Mongols Abstract The purpose of the present thesis is to analyze every aspect of textual nature present in the Chinese original of the Secret History of the Mongols. The work consists of four chapters that touch issues such as the Chinese characters used for the transcription, their pronunciation and meaning, as well as invented or wrong characters. A list is presented with all the Mongolian syllables obtainable by means of the Chinese transcription system and with all the characters used for this. Subsequently, graphic aspects such as word division or punctuation are examined. The last chapter approaches the glossing system of the Mongolian text used in this work. On the basis of the analysis of the collected data, some plausible assumptions about historical or linguistic issues are advanced, such as the ethnic identity of the author of the transcript or the author of the glosses, the existence of a Mongolian dialect with own characteristics in the Yuan dynasty environment, or the reason why this transcript was glossed, and whether it was done out of an original written in Uyghur script.
