Managerial competences in pre-primary education

The thesis deals with the topic of managerial competences in pre-primary education. This topic has been chosen on the basis of ever-changing and evolving demands on the management of kindergartens and the need for high-quality and very comprehensive competencies of kindergarten headmasters. The aim of this thesis is to compare managerial competencies and on the basis of these acquired information to design the most appropriate model of competencies of directors of these contributory organizations. The theoretical part analyzes individual competencies in the field of economic, personal and legal management of the school. The practical part is focused on the comparison of individual areas of management in terms of their complexity and assessment of managerial competences with respect to the time burden. The work is based on professional literature, valid legal norms and results of the research conducted. Relationship of the founder and director of pre-primary education in the Pilsen region.

The Diploma thesis dealing with the relation between a founder and a director of pre-school education management in the Pilsen region, aims to evaluate a system of kindergartens, which are independent contributory organizations and whose founder is a municipality. To find out what competences the founder has in relation to a kindergarten, in which spheres the founder cooperates with a director. How the founder evaluates director's work, if he does control activities and if he works with outputs of the control bodies, especially the Czech School Inspectorate.To find out what the competences of a kindergarten director are, whether he is supported by the founder or not. To find out how the cooperation between the founders and the directors of kindergartens is evaluated by inspectors of the Czech School Inspectorate who are specialized in pre-primary education and work in the Pilsen Inspectorate of the ČSI. Effect of current changes in school legislation on pre-primary education management

OF THE THESIS Author: Bc. Anna Hrudková The diploma thesis deals with the topic The impact of changes in school legislation on management of pre-primary education. The theoretical part deals with the explanation and definition of concepts in the field of management, management of educational institutions (pre-primary education) and school legislation and its amendments. In the practical part, the work deals with the analysis of the collected data from the questionnaire, data were collected from the directors of nursery schools in the Central Bohemia organized by the municipalities. There is a correlation between changes in educational legislation and changes in the workload of nursery school directors and the functioning of these schools. The aim of my final thesis is to find out whether the current changes in school legislation (focusing on pre- primary education) have a significant impact on the management of kindergartens, how and in what areas the impact of these novelties was influenced. The conclusion of the diploma thesis is the evaluation of the collected data and the proposal of the institution dealing with the legislation of education. Headmaster's function in the concept of preprimary education

The diploma thesis deals with the director's function in pre-primary education. The aim of the diplom thesis is to analyze and evaluate processes and management in the concept of preschool education, emphasizing the role of the headmaster of the kindergarten as the governing body responsible for the quality of educational processes. The preschool headmaster works closely with other pedagogical staff and deputy directors whose functions are also mentioned, here. The pedagogical staff are indispensable in the educational process of the school. The concept of pre-primary education is characterized in the theoretical part by its legislation. It focuses on the work activities of pedagogical staff - teachers, deputy director and director. It introduces the functions of the kindergarten, represents individual activities in kindergarten mode and mentions the obligatory documentation, which is necessary for the functioning of preschool organization. Participatory management of the organizationin pre-primary education Renata Capová ABSTRACT This diploma thesis deals with the participatory management of the organization in pre-primary education. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis is dealt with in the first chapter by management in educational institutions, managerial management styles, decision making by an individual and participative and worker self-management. In the second chapter, in the theoretical part of the thesis, it deals with the management in pre-school education, the styles of leadership in nursery school and the head of the kindergarten. The practical part, in the form of indirect, standardized observation and structured interviews, focuses on the management of participatory management in the form of a worker self- management in the International Private Kindergarten and the Bambíno Dejvice Nursery. Recruitment and selection of pedagogical employees in kindergarten

The diploma thesis deals with the personnel management practices of recruitment and selection of employees. The theoretical part provides a brief description of the development of human resources management and an outline of the constituent personnel management practices. The steps undertaken by an organisation in the process of recruitment of employees are described thoroughly, from identifying job openings till designing and publishing a job advertisement. The main methods of employee selection are mentioned, followed by a more detailed description of the selection interview. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the field of pre-primary education. It examines the current circumstances of recruitment and selection of pedagogical employees in selected kindergartens in Prague. It investigates which methods and techniques are used in these personnel management practices and it scrutinizes the factors that influence them. The results of the inquiry show that the recruitment and selection of pedagogues are executed on an adequate level in the selected schools. Developing scientific literacy in pre-primary education through environmental themes

1 Abstract Thesis Woods as an educational space? examines using quantitative methods the differences between children in ordinary kindergartens and forest kindergartens, and it does so according to formation of individual components of scientific literacy or knowledge of selected terms (concepts) in its empirical part. For this purpose it creates evaluation model of scientific literacy of preschool children (didactic test) based on the example of processing a particular topic - Forest. The topic is set into the concept of pedagogy, developmental psychology, and social ecology. The theoretical part discusses the issue of scientific literacy, especially in the context of preprimary age. From the perspective of developmental psychology are furthemore described cognitive developmental characteristics of preschool age in their basic level. This part also focuses on strategic documents of (permanent) sustainable development. The thesis gives a first interesting insight into the problem and reveals a serious facts such as that children from ordinary kindergartens confuse natural objects under artificial objects also are less oriented in inanimate components, than the children of the forest kindergartens. Support of the beginning directors of kindergartens from 1990 to present

This diploma thesis provides information on the subject of supporting beginning kindergarten headmasters. It deals with the changes of this support from 1990 until the present. The objective of this diploma thesis is to find out the opinions of the headmasters of pre-primary education schools in Prague concerning the support provided by the state, school authority, middle management, the previous headmaster, other colleagues and educational institutions upon taking up their the post. The theoretical part introduces the basic terms connected with the headmaster's managerial functions and competences as well as with the historical development of the kindergarten headmaster's function in relation to the support received upon taking up their post. It points out the necessity of external support of headmasters during their career, especially in its beginning. The empirical part of the thesis is based on studying specialised literature and on survey results. It assesses the headmasters' experience at the beginning of their careers as headmasters. It evaluates the quality of assistance provided and points out the missing links of subvention.
