In the practical part I perform the research among the university students from the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the University of South Bohemia. The results from the questionnaire inquiry are written down into the individual graphs. Thanks to these results I find out a development of free-time activities of the contemporary university students from their compulsory school attendance to their university study. The questionnaire inquiry that was under way among the university students verifies three determined hypotheses. The first aim of this bachelor thesis is retrospective comparison of free-time activities of the university students and the second aim is the specification of active and passive free-time activities of the university students during their school attendance and university study. The bachelor thesis output helps to create a conception of free-time activities with an accent on prevention.

Řihošková, Nikola ; Spilková, Jana (advisor) ; Kratěnová, Jana (referee)
According to the World Health Organisation, obesity is an epidemic of the 21st century. It is most certainly a serious risk to the health of the individual in question, markedly lowering their quality of life. The Czech Republic is the fourth most obese country in Europe, with 5-10 % of child obesity present. This paper explores the development of child obesity and its potential root causes that might contribute to it. The analysis is supported by data from a study by the State Health Institute, which was carried out over 4 phases in 18 cities in the Czech Republic. Quantitative research was used in the analytical part of this paper. The data was processed within the SPSS programme, using the method of statistical analysis of contingency tables and binary logistical regression analysis for testing previously established working hypotheses. The results of the analysis have shown that the rate of obesity grew across the four phases, except only in the youngest group of participants. An analysis of the various contributory factors to obesity has highlighted age and place of residence as being the most influential. The highest number of obese children was found in the regions of Karlovy Vary and Ustí nad Labem, which could be due to the socioeconomic and environmental factors in these areas. In...

Dvořák, Marek ; Wolák, Radim (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
The thesis "YouTubers and their influence on the values and development of teenagers in the Czech Republic" aims to determine the influence of people producing and presenting their own videos on the video-sharing website YouTube, the so-called YouTubers, on the social and educational development of teenagers. YouTube is a phenomenon of today's young generation which spends much more time on social networks than in front of television or print media, so the impact of this media on young people is considerable. The YouTubers have become within a very short period of time, approximately five years, idols of adolescents and they are influencing their values, way of expression, clothing style or their opinions on the events around them. However, for many adults this phenomenon is completely unknown or misunderstood. That is also why one of the objectives of this work is to clarify the phenomenon of YouTubers. The work focuses on the analysis of the Czech YouTube scene, its production and content. The first part is devoted to defining concepts which are important for adolescence, and theoretical bases for value creation or socialization. The second part aims to analyze YouTube as a powerful media which influences socio-cultural environment of teenagers through the videos uploaded by YouTubers. This...
Fights of Roma Teenagers Cultural Models of Violence
Trachtová, Zuzana ; Bittnerová, Dana (advisor) ; Abu Ghosh, Yasar (referee)
This thesis focuses on the meaning of violence within groups of Roma youth. It discusses questions regarding how they understand, verbalise and reflect on violence. Answers to these questions presented in the work are based on long-term communication with Roma teenagers visiting a low-threshold club, where I worked. Afterwards, the research was carried out outside the club, in their private space and also in a boxing club. The Roma teenagers formed a fixed group, identifying themselves with a particular Prague district. The dialogues revealed an interesting topic of "fights" among Roma groups coming from different Prague districts. The aim of the thesis is to provide answers to the questions what teenagers are actually saying when they are talking about "fighting" one another, how they assess such behaviour and what meanings it carries for them. The theoretical part presents definitional frameworks concerning the term of violence as well as the concept of physical violence appearing in different socio-scientific contexts. In literature, violence is often referred to in connection with young people, gender, masculinity, social exclusion and honour. Furthermore, this part concentrates on defining the Roma minority and outlining their situation in Prague and the Czech Republic. The theoretical and...
Facebook and Instagram as a part of teenagers' lifestyle - Qualitative study on how teenagers use social networks as a part of their daily lives
Svobodová, Lucie ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Švelch, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis focuses on social networks and the role they play in the lives of teenagers. My aim was to provide insight into teenagers' worlds on Facebook and Instagram. The first part provides a theoretical basis for my research and summarizes foreign research on this topic. The second part describes the research methodology that has been performed in this thesis, in addition to the sample who participated in this research. Finally the results of this research are compared with research of foreign authors. The main research question was "What are the motivations of teenagers to use social networks and how do teenagers represent themselves in these surroundings?" The next research questions focused on privacy concerns and whether teenagers take their own safety into consideration when using Facebook and Instagram. My research demonstrates that electronic social networks are primarily used by teenagers as a means of maintaining contact with their peer group rather than making new social connections. Though social networks such as Facebook and Instagram play a primary role in teenagers' social interactions, there are many privacy risks that are not easily accessible to teenagers and present long-term challenges for their electronic presence. It is important to emphasize that the results of my research...
