Management of risks during recruitment and selection of teaching staff

Human factor creates the greatest risk when working with people. Above all, to give a good example for future generations, it is necessary to select preschool teachers carefully. However, the role teachers play is not only to present a good example for children but to be also a colleague and team worker. Pre-school teachers are required to possess professional and personality competences. Therefore the process of recruitment and selection of teaching staff (followed by their adaptation in preschools) is one of the most important and difficult things in personnel management. Key staff, mangers and personnel officers are in charge of this process. It is highly important to be able to identify, evaluate and eliminate possible risks in the course of all recruitment process. To eliminate such risks is fundamental not only for key staff in education system. The aim of the paper is to define particular measures of prevention arising form identification and evaluation of possible risks during recruitment and selection of teaching staff school education, taking into account their future incorporation into the process of education. TITLE: Headmaster as a project manager AUTHOR: Mgr. Bc. Iva Lokajová DEPARTMENT: The centre of school management SUPERVISOR: RNDr. Jana Marková ABSTRACT: The thesis "Headmaster as a project manager" focuses on the topic of project management in schools. The processed topic should help novice headmasters in particular with the fundamentals of project management. It explains the basic concepts of project management and deals with the description of the forms and methods of project management. It explains the basic tasks, activities and competence of the project manager in education. The research part is trying to map out a so far relatively unexplored area of project management for headmasters of primary schools and kindergartens as well as analyze and visualize the needs of school headmasters in the area. The conclusions show that although elementary schools in particular recognize the benefits of participating in projects for schools, their support in this area is inadequate. The thesis offers proposals for measures that could be used to improve support for project managers in education.
Management of the development of teaching staff in secondary vocational schools

The thesis deals with the issues of the management of human resourses in secondary vocational schools. It describes the headteachers' attitude and experience in this area. The aim is to map, analyse and form conclusions, which will be useful and helpful in headteacher's work, to show a potential for teachers development, to apply knowledge from this area of the general management to a specific school environment and to show the meaning and and the growing importance of these processes in schools. The conclusions are based on research made in secondary vocationals schools among the headteachers and teachers with the questionnaire as a research tool. Selection process of the school director position from the point of view of Czech teachers and headmasters

This master's thesis deals with the selection process of the school director position. The work is divided into the theoretical and the research part. The theoretical part is concerned with the school director position and its competence, on the other hand with the legislation relevant to the selection process of the school director. In the end of the theoretical part author analyses the selection process in Slovakia. In the practical part author used the questionnaire to find the ideas of Czech teachers and headmasters of the selection process and of the Education Act novelisation. The goal of this thesis is to find how these interested sides perceive the selection process, whether the opinions are the same or different. The conclusions of the literature analysis and the research can be used for the improvement of the school director selection process in the Czech Republic. The work is based on the literature listed at the end and on the questionnaire survey, which was performed with 115 teachers and 13 headmasters. Proceedings of the adaptation process of preschool children on entry into primary education, possible problems and their prevention

The aim of my thesis was to compare the attitudes of school management to ensure smooth transfer of children from pre-school to primary education, and to compare these approaches in urban and rural schools. The work consists of theoretical and research. Both these parts are designed to provide answers to questions about managing process of adaptation to different types of schools. The theoretical part is devoted to the general management. It deals with the concepts of management, managerial functions, adaptation, communication, etc. Specifies the position of the school as an organization. Describes the issue of school readiness of children coming into primary education. The research part is looking for answers to research questions related to the issue management process of adaptation. The final section is devoted to evaluation of the data and suggests ways to address the prevention of adaptation problems arising from the management process of adaptation of pupils in first class. Supervision as a Way of Supporting Headmasters

The thesis deals with supervision as a way of supporting a headmaster. The theoretical part introduces the concept of supervision and focuses on forms, types and models of supervision, further, the Ethics Code of supervision and the managerial supervision are dealt with. The conclusion of the theoretical part pays attention to burnout syndrome that often affects people who work in helping professions. The practical part of the thesis finds out whether headmasters have notion of supervision, if they are able to characterize it what attitude they have to the implementation of supervision in their organizations, thesis examines whether supervision helps preventing burnout syndrome and how it affects qualities of headmasters' personal growth. Based on the survey with the selected headmasters, a proposal for the implementation of supervision at schools was created and developed.
