Business Plan and its Economic Evaluation

The aim of this bachelor work is to lay a foundation for the implementation of a business plan. In particular, the goal of the business is to provide secured accommodation. The building intended for this purpose is going to serve people who cannot take care of themselves anymore. In the theoretical part there will be described ways of donation, funding and possible options of the actual realization of the business plan. All of the information which will have been discovered in the theoretical part will be applied in the practical part. At the end of this work all of the options will be evaluated.
Effect of activisation programme on independence of elderly in nursing home

Author: Kateřina Sýkorová Title: The effect of an activation program on the self-sufficiency of seniors in a nursing home Objectives: The main objective of the work was to find out whether, after the program, there will be an improvement in self-sufficiency in a group of probands from a nursing home. Methods: The study involved a group of 5 participants from a senior care home, ranging in age from 70 to 90. The group consisted of one male and four female participants. Each participant was engaged in individual exercise lessons focused on the development of fine motor skills, dexterity, and development of sensorimotor functions for 8 weeks (1 lesson per week). The Moberg Pick-Up Test was used to assess the functions mentioned above before and after the intervention. The test was carried out four times with each participant; twice on both the dominant and non-dominant hand, once with visual control and the second time without visual control. Furthermore, after the intervention the participants subjectively evaluated the change in their self-sufficiency using a questionnaire. Results: From the results of the Moberg-Pick Up Test suggest that there was an improvement in 8 out of 16 measurements of fine motor skills. Two participants showed improvement in speed by more than 10 % multiple times....
Taking care of an elder relative: options in Russia

The topic of care for seniors considers a variety of aspects related not only to the elderly people themselves but also to their relatives or other caretakers and, usually, to the institutions. Those are, for instance, the institutions providing long-term care at home or in special facilities. In the case of Russia, there are two main dimensions of long-term care for elderly people. The first option is care provided by the state, and the second one is private care provided by non- governmental facilities or by people not belonging to any company. The following thesis aims to research which options for elderly long-term care provided by the state are available for people. The paper consists of an introduction, theoretical framework, methodological part, analytical part, discussion, and a conclusion. Using familisation and defamilisation theory, this thesis investigates and analyses the elderly care options provided by the state in Russia via conducting document analysis. Education as a tool for improving the quality of seniors' life

This bachelor's work focuses on education of elderly people, especially whether education influences the quality of their lives. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part summarises the findings of three thematic parts (old age and getting old, quality of life and the meaning of education for quality of life of elderly people) based on foreign and Czech literature. The work inspects the process of ageing and old age by using appropriate resources, it also inspects this issue from the demographic point of view, the role of international organisations concerning ageing issues, quality of life term definition, its dimensions, models and measurements. Then the work defines the concept of active ageing and deals with its determinants, the importance of education for a quality of life in old age, purpose of education of the elderly, its specifics and educational possibilities in the Czech Republic. The other empirical part focuses on quantitative correlation between satisfaction and education of the elderly people, areas of their interests and reasons for not participating in educational activities. The influence of independency of seniors in home care by movement activities

Title: Influence of Physical Activity over Self-care and Quality of Life of Elderly People Living at Home Objectives: The main objectives of this thesis are measuring the level of the physical activities of elderly people living at home and the analysis of the influence of these activities on their independence in everyday activities and on their quality of life. Methods: For research I choose a questionnaire survey as main metod. To collect data for the research I used physical activity questionnaire which I created specifically for this thesis, Barthel Index the standardized self-care test, SQUALA questionnaire measuring the quality of live. To verify my hypothesis I statistically evaluated the outcomes of the tests and questionnaires. For this purpose I used the descriptive statistics in the computer program Microsoft Office Excell. Results: The main objective was fulfiled. In thesis we are trying to define period of old age, status of of old people and problems they may face in society. Focus is aimed mainly on prejudice and stereotypes that are still present in our society towards elderly people. Aging of population and rising of middle period of life needs new view and approach of society towards elderly people and need to raise productive time of older people. To change participation of elderly people in society and other aspects of life of society we need to change the approach of young generation but also the approach of older generation. Goal of this thesis is therefor bring new knowledge and opinions on the old age and situation of elderly people in society. Interprete and define social positivism and desirable role of elderly people towards younger but also older generation. Analysis of computer literacy courses offer for elderly people in Prague

The thesis deals with the issue of computer literacy of elderly people and the offer of these courses in Prague. First part of the thesis is devoted to theoretical and analytical introduction of terms such as old age, aging, age, older adult, literacy and education of elderly people. This part also provides a deeper insight into gerontagogy and gerontodiadactics related to ICT literacy. The second part contains an analysis of the internet offer of computer literacy courses in Prague and the results of the quantitative questionnaire survey. These results are analysed and explained. Then the specified hypotheses are evaluated on their base. The thesis is written on the base of a comparison of scholarly sources from Czech and foreign authors and on analysis and synthesis of the data identified in the survey.
