Dvořáková, Petra ; Drcmánková, Hana (referee) ; Bočková, Nina (advisor)
The aim of my master thesis is to create a comparison of economy between the Czech Republic and another country in the European Union. This other selected country member was Slovakia, which is quite similar to the Czech Republic, has a common history with the Czech Republic, but has already adopted the euro. At the beginning the history of European Union, the Monetary Union and the convergence criteria for the introduction of the single common currency are summarized. The analysis of selected macroeconomic indicators, the fulfillment of the Maastricht criteria and the analysis of medium-sized enterprises in the restaurant and hospitality sector was also carried out in practical part.
Development and use of a polymer-based antibody mimetic for specific targeting of fibroblast activation protein
Dvořáková, Petra ; Konvalinka, Jan (advisor) ; Brábek, Jan (referee)
Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a serine protease which is associated with cancer and recently also with other diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or liver cirrhosis. Increased expression of FAP was observed in more than 90 % of epithelial cancers in contrast to its minimal expression levels in healthy tissues. FAP therefore represents a potential target for anti-cancer treatment as well as a diagnostic marker for various other diseases. In order to accomplish inhibition of FAP, a series of inhibitors was developed. The essential property of the inhibitors is their selectivity against dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV), a homologue of FAP, which is expressed in majority of healthy tissues. This diploma thesis describes a novel research tool for characterization of FAP - a polymer conjugate containing FAP inhibitor as a targeting ligand, fluorophore for the visualization of the conjugate and biotin for its immobilization. The polymer conjugate functions as an antibody mimetic, which can be used in a variety of biochemical methods for detection, visualization and specific targeting of FAP. This study shows that the polymer conjugate selectively and effectively inhibits FAP with more than three orders of magnitude difference of the inhibition constant in comparison to DPP-IV. At the same time,...

The respondents were chosen in accordance to the tests purpose. Respondents were third-grade students studying...
The reflection of the conditions for the journalists in Morocco
Dvořáková, Petra ; Moravec, Václav (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the current conditions for journalists in Morocco based on the theoretical background of journalism in the country as well as personal interviews with journalists. Specifically, this thesis is focused on the methods by which the Moroccan state restricts journalism and media. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. In the first, I describe the historical and social context of today's situation. In the second, I cover regulatory legislation as it pertains to journalism and the media. In the final chapter, I detail the various restrictions troubling journalists, not just from legislation but also from financial pressure and government surveillance of individuals. This paper focuses primarily on journalism conditions in Morocco during the past ten years, but I also took into account prior hallmark periods, selecting King Hassan II's authoritative reign as a point of comparison for the current situation journalists face. In the practical part of this paper I present the topic more widely, through a qualitative analysis of the personal testimonies of Moroccan journalists, and I take into account the questions of media quality and the education of journalists. The practical part includes three case studies of foreign journalists, who have been forbidden...
Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great in Prague at Karlov during the Baroque Period between 1648 - 1785
Dvořáková, Petra ; Royt, Jan (advisor) ; Pučalík, Marek (referee)
The goal of the thesis was to form a complex image of the Church of Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great in Prague at Karlov during the Baroque period 1648- 1785. The initial part reviews sources and literature mentioning Baroque alterations to the Karlov church, the Virgin Mary of Karlov painting and J. J. Slansovsky oevre here. Next, I continue with a brief chapter about the Prague New Town foundation, followed up with Karlov history from the monastery foundation up until the end of Thirty Years' War. As an introduction to the Baroque period, I included a passage about Baroque piety. The core of the thesis focusing on Baroque alterations to the church is ordered chronologically with a subdivision into two chief sections, i.e. exterior- and interior alterations. A broader chapter is dedicated to development of the divine Virgin Mary of Karlov cult, including the characterization of the Maria Gravida type. My treatise is concluded with an outline of the Karlov church fate after its shutting down in 1785, including a brief summary of the interior changes in the spirit of the Neo-Gothic style. Key words Church of Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great, Augustinians, Karlov, Virgin Mary of Karlov, Holy Stairs, Bethlehem Cave, Baroque, altar, statue, painting
This thesis is focused especially on media regulation by the state. Apart from regulatory legislation I also cover the problem of the surveillance of journalists and influencing the media through advertiser manipulation. Though this paper focuses primarily on journalism conditions in Morocco during the past ten years, I also took into account prior hallmark periods, selecting King Hassan II's authoritative reign as a point of comparison for the current situation journalists face. In the practical part of this paper I present the topic more widely, thanks to personal testimonies of Moroccan journalists, and I take into account also the questions of media quality and the education of journalists. The practical part is a qualitative, diverse sample presenting the points of view of journalists from official state media as well as from independent platforms. To inform on the issue of the expulsion of foreign journalists, I present the stories of two foreign journalists as well. I also use my personal experience in Morocco to frame the thesis with a historical-social context. In the summary I compare...
The role of fibroblast activation protein and other proteases in tumour progression
Dvořáková, Petra ; Konvalinka, Jan (advisor) ; Gemperle, Jakub (referee)
Proteases are often associated with cancer and play a role of leading enzymes responsible for tumour cell invasion and metastasis. Proteolytic activity enables proteases to influence tumour progression in many ways, including cleavage of extracellular matrix, which is necessary for invasion. This thesis deals with the study of processes by which proteases regulate tumour development, either positively or negatively, and also mentions factors influencing the activity of the proteases. In connection with invasiveness of tumour cells, a major part of the thesis is dedicated to the role of fibroblast activation protein. This serine protease is expressed in stromal fibroblasts, is able to cleave collagen and has been thus established as a therapeutic target for the treatment of carcinomas. The emphasis is also put on dipeptidyl peptidase IV, a close homologue of fibroblast activation protein, especially in relation with a selective targeting of fibroblast activation protein using the inhibitors and other therapeutic agents, whose development and use are also outlined in this thesis. TITLE: The possibilities of rehabilitation for people suffering from tinnitus AUTHOR: Bc. Petra Dvořáková DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Miroslava Kotvová ABSTRACT: The increasing phenomenon of tinnitus, the perception of noise caused by permanent damage to the cochlear hair cells, lately resulted in growing focus towards this problem. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate, which of the available therapies for tinnitus is mostly sought by patients. The work presents insights of this phenomenon through its classification, provided aetiology and mainly focuses on possibilities of available therapies. Henceforth, the chapter with focus on the impact of tinnitus on the daily life of people suffering from tinnitus is one of the core chapters of this thesis. The practical part evaluates the already realised qualitative and quantitative research. Further, the quantitative method used is the questionnaire construction. The resulting values are summarised and presented with their absolute and relative abundance in tables and graphs. Following, the resulting values are complemented by three independent casuistry of persons suffering from tinnitus. The research questions focus on the general public awareness, what therapy method is mostly used, what are the main causes for the...
Healthy lifestyles in pre-school and primary education and their application in educational practice
Dvořáková, Petra ; Čevela, Rostislav (advisor) ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (referee)
The nutritional status is significantly influenced by changes in eating habits of entire families. The baby is not born obese, but becomes it in the course of its development, due to heredity, family educational activities, psychosocial and cultural conditions of the society in which he or she lives. Everyday improper habits of adults are also transferred into the lives of children and violations of the principles of healthy eating, lack of physical activity, lack of rest and relaxation, stress and many other factors of present is involved in the onset of many diseases and complications of health. Base on fact that there are no standardised textbooks for teaching subjects Health Education and healthy lifestyle, while neither the directive which would lead teachers in pre-school education to systematic education of children in this area, I deal in my work with the question, which are the options to learn on healthy lifestyle and how get quality information teachers themselves. Futhermore I address the issue of overweight and obesity of children in terms of health literacy, strategy of selected primary schools and kindergartens on the question of exercise and diet and appropriate / inappropriate eating habits of children. The first part focuses on the implementation of programs in the field of...
