Honskusová, Linda ; Rusek, Martin (advisor) ; Škoda, Jiří (referee) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
Teachers' ability to reflect on teaching is one of the essential attributes that enhance the quality of teaching. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on teachers' professional development and cultivate their professional vision (PV) over a long period of time. PV is an important set of discursive practices that enable one to see a meaningful event and is associated with selective attention and knowledge-based reasoning. This dissertation focuses on three main objectives: (1) to describe current findings on PV development in teachers and to select the means by which PV will be developed in prospective chemistry teachers, (2) to identify the PV skills of chemistry student teachers and the factors that influence its development, and (3) to suggest appropriate teaching innovations. In order to determine the degree of PV development of future chemistry teachers and the possibility of developing it through systematically guided reflections, students' input and output written reflections were analysed using a methodology based on Sherin and van Es (2009) and supplemented with information from a questionnaire of personally perceived teacher proficiency. Influencing factors were identified through semi- structured interviews. The research was conducted on three groups of Chemistry student teachers of the...

STAREC, Jan
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cross-curricular relationships between civics and geography in elementary school education. The aim of this work is to provide an overview of these interdisciplinary relations between both educational fields. This was achieved through a content analysis of the thematic units of the curriculum presented in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Based on the obtained data, the author designed eight model teaching units that were put into practice. Individual teaching units were subsequently evaluated. The main contribution of this work is finding numerous compatibility between both fields, which can be used in everyday pedagogical practice.
The meaning of student teaching practice for entering the teaching profession
Hájková, Aneta ; Duschinská, Karolina (advisor) ; High, Radka (referee)
The aim of the presented work is to map the issue of pedagogical practice regarding its importance in the decision-making of future teachers about entering or not entering the profession, evaluate its benefits for students and outline possible changes in undergraduate teacher training. The presented text contains two main parts, namely the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part consists of chapters dealing with the training of future teachers. The first chapter defines the key concepts in the field. The second chapter follows the general characteristics of pedagogical practice as an integral part of the study of teaching. The core of the text then consists of a passage, the content of which is specifically focused on the description of the special importance of the training of future teachers. The design of the research survey in the practical part is based on a qualitative methodology, primarily the use of the method of explanatory case study. Data collection is realized through semi-structured interviews with individual students, where a large amount of data is collected from a few respondents. A thorough examination of a small sample of respondents will help to understand similar cases. Furthermore, the theoretical part defined key terms related to the topic. Terms such as...

Němečková, Linda ; Pavlasová, Lenka (advisor) ; Škoda, Jiří (referee) ; Čížková, Věra (referee)
Pedagogical practice is a substantial component in the education of future teachers, because during it, the specific knowledge that is important for the performance of the teaching profession are developed. This dissertation thesis is dedicated to professional vision and the ability to reflect by future biology teachers during their pedagogical practice. The thesis specifically deals with the analysis of individual reflections of students and observation interviews. The research is conducted using several studies. The first study was performed with the analysis of 130 written reflections taken before and also after individual watching video recordings of 65 students' own lessons. For the analysis of written reflections, the categorical system submitted by Sherin and van Es (2008) was used. For students doing their first practice at lower secondary school, a statistically significant shift across a wide range of professional vision categories was detected after watching a recording of their own lessons. This was unlike the students doing their second practice at upper secondary schools. Further analysis was carried out, and was aimed at deeper research into the nature of the evaluative statements. The analysis was conducted by 10 future teachers of biology and 40 written reflections were reviewed....

Comparison of current undergraduate training future biology teachers in selected countries
Fialová, Michaela ; Rajsiglová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Havlová, Michaela (referee)
In most of the countries all over the world, one can find governmental resorts (ministries) focused on education in the given country. The agenda of these ministries is, among other things, the education of those who are supposed to educate others, in other words, pedagogical workers or teachers. Teachers are the fundamental functional unit in education which is why there ought to be a special emphasis placed upon their education and preparation. Unless the society has sufficiently qualified teachers, it cannot expect any excellent results in education, even though there are some other factors involved as well. The main concern of this bachelor thesis lies on teachers' education, mainly biology teachers: what is the lowest possible education needed and how many years must a future teacher study; what is the required structure of teachers' education in the Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Ireland and in the USA and what part of the future teachers' study is dedicated to gaining knowledge in biology and what part to obtain pedagogical-psychological knowledge which is considered necessary for working itself in the pedagogy sphere.

The thesis is divided into three parts according to the target group on which the research is focused. Both the results and the specified literature confirm the importance of continuous presense of animals in the proximity of preschool aged children in several areas of their personality development (emotions, environmental feelings, communication, motivation, responsibility, thoughtfulness, concentration, attention, senses, interest, calming down, cognition - the cycle of life and animal characteristics). The Ways of the pedago-psychological diagnostic Methods at primary School
ŠTORKOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis is focused on a practical utilisation of methods of pedagogical-psychological diagnostics in a primary school. The theoretical part explores the role and importance of pedagogical diagnostics in a school, the view of a teacher on a meaningfulness of diagnosis in dependence on the years of his/her teaching experience, and positions on the personality of a pupil in dependence of his/her physical, psychical and social development. The practical part consists of interviews with teachers where I asked about the practicality and possible ways of use of the methods of pedagogical-psychological diagnostics in the usual school environment. This is followed by an analysis of the drawing-projection method and didactic non-standard tests. This paper is concluded with an assessment of social climate in a class. The research has been conducted with the teachers and the pupils of the primary school in Ceske Budejovice.
