Utilization of Knowledge Systems and Bases for Selection and Evaluation of Domestic Electrical Installations.
Haluza, Miroslav ; Martínek, Zbyněk (referee) ; Gurecký, Jiří (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
My doctoral thesis deals with use of the sophisticated methods for the selection of technical and economic solution of electrical wiring. This solution is based not only on a price but also on many other criteria such as a comfort, service, durability etc. The focus of the work is a treatise on wiring systems from a global perspective, where it is impossible to use a conventional approach for objective evaluation and selection of the appropriate electrical wiring system (because of the complexity of such systems and their interdependencies). In the four chapter are given information of an energy consumption (the total consumption and household consumption). In this chapter is given also a consumption prediction – especially for households. Following is an overview of possible measures for reducing electricity consumption in households. In the next part of this thesis are solved the knowledge, respectively expert systems for use in an electrical engineering – especially for a suitable tool for the selection and evaluation of households wiring electrical system. The result of this work provides a possible solution for a selection of wiring electrical system for households (focusing on the intelligent wiring) – from a technical and economic point of view and with using an innovative approach. The main contribution of this work is a proposal of the main part of the knowledge base. This base could be as a basis for knowledge, respectively for an evaluating technical and economical solution of an electrical wiring system – the expert system includes also a feedback function of an effectiveness solution, use value, price etc., which would also serve as a knowledge base.
Extraction of Semantic Relations from Text
Schmidt, Marek ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
Extraction of semantic relations from English text is the topic of this thesis. It focuses on exploitation of a dependency parser. A method based on syntactic patterns is proposed and evaluated in addition to evaluation of several statistical methods over syntactic features. It applies the methods for extraction of a hypernymy relation and evaluates it on the WordNet thesaurus. A system for extraction of semantic relations from text is designed and implemented based on these methods.
Ontology-Based Content Management System
Čekan, Ondřej ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the analysis, design and implementation of a system based on semantic technologies and ontology languages. There is described the semantic web and its concept, technology of semantic web especially RDF and OWL and the ability to view on the Web. Another part of this work treats with the specification, analysis, design actual implementation of the system, which processes the ontology and allows users to create individual depending on the definition of the ontology. The created content is presented on the Web annotated. The result of this work is the demonstration application.
Graphical User Interface for Comparing RDF Models
Administration Interface of an Information Extraction System
Gongol, Jakub ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This thesis covers the subject of information extraction from Web. The main objective is the design and implementation of an administration interface for an extraction system implemented as web application on Java platform. The application provides an editor for extraction tasks specification in the form of interactive graphs. It includes the possibility to upload and process an ontology from a file and generate graph according to selected ontology properties. The solution ensures integration with the FITLayout tool.
Ontology and Semantic Web
Stuchlík, Radek ; Hruška, Tomáš (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
The purpose of the master's thesis "Ontology and Semantic Web" is to give a description of general principles of ontologies, which are closely associated with so-called new generation of web: semantic web. The thesis is conceived as tutorial and it is focused on both theoretical basics and practical examples of the use of technologies developed recently. The aim of this tutorial is to present main ideas of semantic web, technologies and data formats, which should provide its implementation into standard practice.
An attempt at an ontological critique of Wilhelm Dilthey's conception of resistance
Sajvera, David ; Novák, Aleš (advisor) ; Nitsche, Martin (referee) ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (referee)
An attempt at an ontological critique of Wilhelm Dilthey's conception of resistance The starting point of the paper is Wilhelm Dilthey's conception of resistance as a pre-reflective experience of separation of the Self and the outer world. This emerges in the very early (prenatal) stages of ontogenesis and forms the basis of our belief in the reality of outer world. We try to explicate Dilthey's insights more precisely by pursuing the interpretation of his conception by other authors, confronting it with a phenomenological approach and reflecting on the possibilities of ontological grounding of the term. Dilthey's analysis of resistance met with explicit responses from Martin Heidegger and Max Scheler, and became one of the main topics of a debate between them, triggered by Scheler's response to Being and Time. Heidegger rejects Dilthey's concept of resistance, claiming that resistance is characteristic of an ontic entity, but it never characterizes the world in the ontological sense. Resistance always presupposes the disclosure of the world, and also disclosed is that which our will or instinct aim for. A key role here is played by the existential structure of Sorge. Scheler revises Dilthey's original concept and purifies it from some untenable ontic characteristics (e.g. resistance as a content...
Categorial Ontology Introduced by Aristotle and Edward Jonathan Lowe.
PRIEHRADNÁ, Markéta
This thesis aims to compare two ontologies regarding their ontological status of universals, namely the Aristotle's one and the Lowe's one. The first part deals with the extension of research of the being, in which the problem of universals plays a key role. The following chapters analyse the ontologies of Aristotle and Lowe with respect to their individual deficiencies. The last section compares the acquired data and describes the differences between the two ontologies. In Aristotle's approach these seem to be the ten categories of the basic entities, while in Lowe's approach there are four categories from the ontological square which may be qualified as basic beings. The last section also deals with other differences of the two ontologies, such as hylomorphism and the connection between universals and particulars.
