Human biomonitoring - limitations and opportunities
Figenschou, Kristian ; Černá, Milena (advisor)
Human biomonitoring aims to measure the amount of certain substances in all aspects of the environment, how much of this that reach humans and in what way, and finally how this affects our health. In all aspects of this process lays challenges that must be overcome. When measuring substances in the environment, one must make sure that one is measuring the biomarker which gives the most precise results according to what one seeks to find. Dependent on the biomarker in question, multiple factors can potentially affect the measurements. When the most suitable biomarker has been found, one must make sure that all possible sources are located and taken into consideration, in order to provide a sufficient exposure assessment. The next challenge is to gather accurate epidemiologic data, and link this to the exposure in question, and make a reliable risk assessment. As the examples in this paper highlights, within each step are challenges, and possible limitations. For most substances, there are data gaps and incomplete understanding. There is now much work done globally, on how to further improve the process. Based on today's experiences and knowledge, new guidelines are put down. In Europe there was recently launched a program, that will coordinate the cooperation between the member states. Though it is already a...

Functional Competence as the Goal of Developing Speaking Skill in Teaching German as a Foreign Language
Hejduková, Andrea ; Nečasová, Pavla (advisor) ; Chvál, Martin (referee) ; Spáčilová, Libuše (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of speaking skill whcn teaching German as a foreign language. It tries to analyse all possible aspects of speaking skill in order to develop the best possible teaching approach that would enable students to use their (spoken) language effectively and reach their communicative goals. For this skill. vvhich is defined mainly by the ability to perform the language functions that one needs to express, the term Tunctional competence' is used. An important feature of this term is the preference of success of communication to its correctness. The theoretical part first explains the terms used in the thesis (ability / skill / competence, learning versus acquisition). Afterwards, speaking skill is analysed in the context of other communicative skills, i. e. listening, reading. and writing, so that it is clear that no particular skill can be dealt with in a completely isolated way and that the teaching process should always involve an appropriate combination of various communicative skills. A separate chapter describes the differences between monologues and dialogues / polylogues. After that. three stages of speaking skill are analysed (imitative speaking. guided non-imitative speaking, and autonomous speaking). For these stages. vast amount of concretc examples of speaking tasks...

Heterocyclic Compounds with Antimycobacterial Activity
Herzigová, Petra ; Klimešová, Věra (advisor) ; Potáček, Milan (referee) ; Pytela, Oldřich (referee)
The dissertation thesis belongs to the conception of the research of potential antimycobacterial compounds. The aim of this work is synthesis of sulphide pyridine derivatives and the relationship between structure and antimycobacterial activity. Within the framework of this Thesis, the 112 substituted derivates of 4-(subst. fenylalkylsulfanyl)pyridine-2-carboxylic acid were synthesized. Antimycobacterial activity of prepared substances has been tested under in vitro conditions against M. tuberculosis, and non-tuberculous mycobacteria M. avium and M. kansasii. The series of 4-(subst. phenethylsulfanyl)pyridine-2-carbothioamide (MIC 1-32 µmol/L) represents the most active substances (MIC 1-32 µmol/L). These derivates don't reach the activity used antituberculosis drugs against M. tuberculosis, but their activities against M. avium exceed that of isoniazid. The synthesis of new structures as potential antimycobacterial compounds forms the second part of Thesis. All synthesis is based on the use of bis- arylimidoyl chlorides of oxalic acid of as starting material. None of prepared new compounds don't display an interesting antimycobacterial activity.

Deformation index for tablets of lactose and mannitol
Neckářová, Kamila ; Řehula, Milan (advisor) ; Musilová, Marie (referee)
Neckářová Kamila - Rigorózní práce - 2006 This work deals with deformation index of tablets of microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol and lactose. The aim of the work was to find out the effect of filler on parameters DE and E2.The new parameter DI, deformation index, was studied as well,. It expresses the ratio between DE and E2. The measurement was carried out by means of T1 - FRO 50 device. The results show that the highest amount of energy was accumulated by mannitol, less by lactose and lowest amount by microcrystalline cellulose. The anhydride form lactose and mannitol has the parameter D lower than monohydrates. A semilogarithmic dependence was found between parameters D and DE. New parameter DI reaches highest value for microcrystalline cellulose, lower for mannitol and lowest for lactose.

Possibilities for Influencing Children in Nursery Schools with the aid of Psycho-motor Activities
Špalková, Markéta ; Dvořáková, Hana (advisor) ; Pokorný, Ladislav (referee)
Aggressive behaviour is possible to mwention in pre-school age.
