Transport nesteroidních antiflogistik přes hematoencefalickou bariéru in vitro
Nováková, Iveta ; Červený, Lukáš (referee) ; Štaud, František (advisor)
The migration of substances between the blood circulation and the central nervous system (CNS) is regulated by the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Small, lipophilic molecules such as carbon dioxide, oxygen or ethanol can pass the BBB by passive, transcellular diffusion, while the paracellular transport of hydrophilic substances is restricted by intercellular tight junctions. Due to accessory transport systems, the BBB is able to regulate specifically the permeation of substances (e.g. nutrients) (Ballabh et al., 2004). Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly used substances world-wide, yet little is known about their ability to cross the BBB. Since NSAIDs may exhibit CNS side effects including dizziness, headaches and drowsiness we sought to study the transport of several NSAIDs (celecoxib, diclofenac, ibuprofen, lornoxicam, meloxicam, piroxicam and tenoxicam). Both single studies and group studies were carried out applying either a single substance or several substances simultaneously across the BBB in vitro model based on the human cell line ECV304. The permeability data were normalized to the internal standards diazepam and carboxyfluorescein to account for cell layer's variabilities. According to our studies, it was confirmed that crossing of ibuprofen and...

Institut of roman civil process with an emphasis on reception of the roman law
Brantlová, Kateřina ; Falada, David (referee) ; Bělovský, Petr (referee)
Identification of individual phases of development of civil proceedings as an ancient, classic, post-classic and Justinian process has its information value. Original legislation proceedings soon became obsolete as it could not catch on an outset of changes in social development of the country. Therefore, it is no wonder that a vast majority of its inherent features did not make it to the next procedural form. Full impact of legislation proceedings was the most typical for the oldest stage of the Roman history. And again, it is suitable to emphasize the principal benefit of legislation procedure consisting mainly in suppression of unauthorized actions. Legis actione was the first step on a long way leading to better and more perfect procedural regulation. Contrary to the previous procedural regulation the formula proceedings had been for a long time a crucial form of proceedings. Therefore, it did not come from usage in one day, but this process was very slow. This is demonstrated also by relatively long-lasting cohabitation of the classic and cognition procedure. Therefore, the identification "classic" is perfectly appropriate. Paradoxically, this procedure was not the one which should have become a focus of attention of many following generations of jurists. The term "post-classic procedure" can...

Environmetal insurance as one of instrument of the environmental protection policy
Bílková, Jana ; Hadrabová, Alena (advisor) ; Dvořák, Antonín (referee)
This thesis deals with the internalization instrument and with one of the form of provision and compensation of environmental damage, with the environmental insurance. It focuses on the development of this insurance, on the risk assesment, on the determination of premium and on the existing limitations in the insurance contract. The main problem is devoted to the analysis of the Czech insurance market and especially to the compulsory insurance of a major accident. By interrogation of firms and insurance companies, it evaluates a volontary access of the insurance contract conclusion. I try to show that the state intervation don't have to be so well-founded in this domain, because firms are willing to insure volontary and insurance companies are able to offer volontary insurance too. Free decision making of firms would be better and would lead to more effective solution than the state regulation.

The Establishment and Development of a Private Limited Liability Company
Andreisová, Lucie ; Kalinová, Miluše (advisor) ; Kropáčová, Marie (referee)
This bachelor dissertation is dedicated to the process of establishment and development of one of the most often utilized legal forms - that of a private limited liability company. The main goal of this dissertation is to offer as much information, so as even a reader who is not familiar with all the legal regulations would know, what all is needed for a proper establishment and subsequent development of this legal structure. Except for the process of establishment and development of the private limited liability company itself, there is also attention paid (with regards to the satisfaction of the mentioned goal) to other with this problem related questions. At the beginning there is a definition of the terms company and business law, then an explanation of other basic business law's terms follows, there is also a basic characterization of a private limited liability company and some non-juridical aspects of the establishment and development of this legal form cannot be missing, too. And finally, there is also some practice of the business courts added at the end of the paper. This practice concerns some more or less serious faults which can come during the process of the establishment and development of a private limited liability company.

Metabolism of Iron And Insulin Resistance
Křenovský, Pavel ; Kraml, Pavel (advisor)
Thesis topic "The metabolism of iron and insulin resistance" gives an overview of the current problem of the metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance as a major component of the syndrome X. There is mentioned classification criteria for the MS, including the most recent in 2005 by IDF (International Diabetes Federation). The paper examines the mechanism of action of insulin at the cellular level, with an emphasis on "locus minorit resistentiae" in postreceptor signaling cascade of insulin in relation to the emergence of insulin resistance. Conclusion The first chapter is devoted to one of the most complex methods of prevention of insulin resistance - physical activity, the expression of molecular mechanisms affecting the IR due to exercise. The second chapter we give to the problems of iron metabolism. Particular attention is paid to the absorption of iron and regulate its metabolism, which is very much applied fairly recently discovered peptide hepcidin. Conclusion Chapter preventive recommendations are due to adverse effects of excessive stocks of iron in the body in terms of insulin sensitivity. There is mentioned also the findings of several studies exploring the relationship of metabolic syndrome and its major components, including insulin resistance with regard to the amount of iron stored and...

Differentiation of yeast colonies and development of new approaches to monitor oxygen and nutrient availability
Vopálenská, Irena ; Janderová, Blanka (advisor) ; Demnerová, Kateřina (referee) ; Pichová, Iva (referee)
Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an unicellular organism is one of the best-studied experimental organisms. It is an important model organism for the study of intracellular processes of eukaryotic cells. Yeasts are also social organisms with cell-to-cell communication able to form organized multicellular structures (colonies and biofilms). Yeast and other microorganisms in nature prefer to form colonies on solid substrates rather than to grow as "planktonic" single cells (Palková, 2004; Wimpenny, 2009). The yeast S. cerevisiae typically forms colonies, biofilms were described only rarely. Yeast colonies exhibit an organized morphological pattern characteristic of each particular yeast strain (Kocková-Kratochvílová, 1982). This work is focusing on morphology and differentiation of the S. cerevisiae colonies of common laboratory strains forming less structured colonies, and strains of the Σ1278b genetic background forming highly structured "fluffy" colonies. It shows that polarized budding pattern and especially cell ability to form aggregates enable development of structured morphology. During development of "fluffy" colonies two differently regulated events of dimorphic switch from yeast form to filamentous growth occur. One of these events is dependent on the surface glycoprotein, Flo11p flocculin. This...

Inbound marketing of Nestlé in the area of infant formula
Hnízdilová, Lucie ; Průša, Přemysl (advisor) ; Postler, Milan (referee)
This master's thesis deals with inbound marketing of Nestlé in the area of infant formula. Its aim is to determine whether inbound marketing is a suitable tool for infant formula promotion which is strongly regulated. The thesis is based on a comprehensive analysis of the area of infant formula and analysis of inbound marketing strategy of one of the most dominant companies on the market, Nestlé. In the beginning, attention is focused on important milestones of the development of infant formula and on a case which caused an important change in the promotion of infant formula, Nestlé boycott. The following section deals with the supervision and marketing regulation both in international and the European law. The final chapter of the first part emphasizes on philosophy of inbound marketing. The second part is introduced by outlining the current situation both on global and the Czech market of infant formula. Then, attention is focused on Nestlé. Its introduction is followed by analysis of company's inbound marketing strategy which is then evaluated. For this purpose, analysis of the effectiveness of marketing tools is made with regard to strategic goals of the company.
