Criminality of children and youth

The work deals with youth and children crime. It is concentrated on crime as a whole, it defines the most important terms related to the topic. It points out probable roots of that pathological phenomenon and looks for possible measures leading to its reduction. Considering the field of study, i. e. Pedagogy, a part of the work will be aimed at children's primary social environment, i.e. family and school. Attention will be paid to crime prevention and its categories. Finally, case studies will prove that family, school, education and training are the most important factors forming young people and influencing their behaviour.

Press is a part of mass communication providing the public with information and symbolic contents. It always reflects the supposed interest of the public in concrete problems and it mediates social control of the institutions which are responsible for the particular spheres. On the basis of the content analysis of the regional press in South Bohemia we can state that citizens do not perceive the problem of public greenery as urgent and thus this topic is not very frequent in the media. People mainly observe if public greenery is in good shape. The number of organisms to be encountered in urban environment by greenery users is not large according to the press.

Youth criminality prevention in the Czech Republic

This study focuses on the prevention of juvenile delinquency in the Czech Republic while defining the best possible means for an individual to achieve positive socialization and develop protection against anti-social behavior. The study is divided into two sections - theoretical and analytical. The first section aims to: describe criminal prevention strategies and their philosophy and goals; present different methodologies for prevention; and define target groups. It also gives an account of objective and subjective factors that may influence anti-social behavior in youth, since it is proven that particular characteristics of the social environment or personality can increase the likelihood of committing a crime. The core of this theoretical study includes an overview of criminological theories, which seek to reveal the roots of criminal behavior. Also described is the evolution of salient ideas in this sociological framework, which form the basis for criminological theory, along with a summary of biosocial and psychological theories. A special focus is on the Social Control Theory and General Theory of Crime published by T. Hirschi and M. Gottfredson in the 90's, considered to be the most complex and relevant theories of social prevention due to their emphasis on the correlation of individual and social...

Workshop Current environmental threats and their impact on the landscape was organized in the framework of the Strategy AV21 of the Academy of Sciences, the program Natural threats.\nThe papers were oriented both on natural threats (geological and geomorphological threats - slope deformation, erosion, hydrometeorological extremes floods, droughs, biological invasions) and their evaluation and prediction, and social and legal implications of natural and human activities caused by threats and their impacts on the landscape (e. g. changes in the urban environment, anthropogenic impacts in the mining areas). Important topics were focused on the assessment of natural and environmental threats and their solving in selected emergency and crisis situations using geoinformation technologies. \n

The middle class in China - potential and problems

Middle class is important for economic development and growth of a country. Nowadays middle class in asian countries like China, Vietnam or India is significantly growing. Middle class in China has started to develop after economic reforms, which were launched in 1980s. People belonging to middle class in China are concentrated in urban area. Originally it started to develop in the coastal part of the country. There is a trend to move also to the inner part of the country. The biggest potential of the middle class is boosting domestic consumption. On the other hand there are certain problems, which might lead to middle income trap. The main problems are low productivity, high disparity, pressures on environment or aging population. The government is making a lot of measures to solve this problém. Nevertheless these problems are long term and they must focus on them in the future too.

This master's thesis focuses on studying the NGOs involvement in crime prevention in the Czech Republic. At first, it deals with the theoretical framework and the history of crime prevention, then it studies the cultural, political, social and legal aspect of the environment in which the NGOs operate and also maps what types of organizations are currently involved in the crime prevention.

The Idea of Desert in Modern Arabic Short Stories

This thesis examines the theme of desert as literary environment in modern Arabic short story. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the short story's texts dealing with the desert. This topic will be approached in terms of semantic-symbolic analysis, which will be matched by the relationship between nature and the environment as a landscape, and nature as a source of mythological and fantastic ideas, which are reflected in the life of literary figures and story construction. The work includes a search for an answer to the question of what is the diference between the author who has direct access to the desert and the other one who deals with urban or other environments according to the geographic origin. The work is divided into three parts, which then develop symbolic, mythological and anthropological analysis of selected texts. Coordinating landscape protection and needs of cities: Case study Císařská louka, Prague

The aim of this thesis is to create design of areas with different ways of using in area of Prague 5, Císařská louka and neighborhood. This design should join the requirements of nature and landscape protection and needs of city residents. The thesis is divided into three basic parts. In the first part, in the literary research is described relationship between the city and the river, the role of the river embankment in the urban environment, systems which includes area of the riverbanks and the legislative framework mentioned issues. Next, analytical part maps area of interest within the wider context as well as the concretely chosen studied area. Findings from the two previous parts are implemented in the last part of the design. This part consists of different variants of solution showing the options of area layout in the studied area. The result is a final design which joins required coordination of nature and landscape protection and the needs of city residents.
