Restoration of aquatic ecosystem and water quality in the drinking-water reservoir Římov after the flood in 2002
Hejzlar, Josef ; Kaštovská, Klára ; Seďa, Jaromír ; Znachor, Petr ; Jarošík, Jiří ; Haider, Z.
The extreme flood event in the catchment of the Malše River in August 2002 markedly changed hydrodynamics of Římov Reservoir (loss of thermal stratification; water residence time dropped from months to single days) and caused problems in water treatment due to a long-lasting increase in concentrations of dissolved organic matter. However, biota of the aquatic ecosystem was influences relatively little. Although large proportions of phytoplankton and zooplankton biomasses were flushed out of the reservoirs the originally dominant species re-established in their original size of biomass within less than one month. The fish community was influenced almost negligibly except for a temporal enrichment by species from streams and fishponds. These results evidence that the reservoir ecosystem is very stable towards fluctuations of hydrologic conditions.

The Incidence of Suicide Among Alcoholics
LHOTSKÁ, Veronika
For my master thesis, I have chosen the topic of alcoholics' suicide occurrence. There were 1647 people who have committed a suicide in the Czech Republic during the year 2012. Out of the 1647 people, there were 1370 men, and 277 women (ČSÚ, 2013). The deaths of alcoholics are not recorded by the National Evidence Center. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The information for the theoretical part was gathered from academic sources. The two examined parts are the suicide commitment in the Czech Republic, and the alcohol consumption. The practical part is simply a primary research that I have done in PL Červený Dvůr. The research had two parts; quantitative and qualitative. The qualitative part was done through interviews with chosen respondents. The quantitative part was done through surveys distributed in PL Červený Dvůr. I have chosen to do the quantitative part first, so that I could choose the right candidates for the quantitative part based on their responses. The interviews helped me to complete the information I was looking for. I have set various goals that I wanted to reach through the research. The main goal was to chart the suicide behavior of alcoholics who are patients of PL Červený Dvůr. In order to reach such goal, I have set partial goals. The first partial goal was to contras the reason that lead the patients of PL Červený Dvůr to try to commit a suicide. According to the results I received, the most common reason for committing a suicide is either unfulfilled love, or the breaking-up with partner. Another goal was to discover the way the patients tried to kill themselves. As the majority responded so, the most common way is to cut the veins while drunk. The third goal was to compare and contrast the different reasons why as well as the ways how to commit a suicide. I have focused on two groups of patients of PL Červený Dvůr; the alcoholics and the toxicants. The alcoholics had proven that the reason why the tried to kill themselves was love, but the toxicants stated that they did it because they simply did not have a reason to live anymore. Both of the groups decided to end their lives by cutting their veins.

The migration crisis in Europe and subsequent implications for Swedish welfare state
Lacková, Dominika ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Němcová, Ingeborg (referee)
In general, migration is one of the most important global challenges. The topic of regulating migration flows came to the fore in relation to the current Europe's migration, or more precisely, refugee crisis. It has been described as the most massive migrant's crisis since the WW2. Unprecedented influx of immigrants and refugees in 2015 resulted in that even the best prepared European countries, such as Sweden, have reached a tipping point with regard to respect EU standards related to reception and processing of asylum applications. Master thesis covered two main analyses - the relevance of the refugee crisis in the EU in regards to the Swedish welfare state and the subsequent implications arising from the refugee crisis for the Swedish welfare state.

Politics and legislation. Czech Parliamentary Culture 1993 - 2010
Wintr, Jan ; Znoj, Milan (advisor) ; Kysela, Jan (referee) ; Znoj, Milan (referee)
S u m m a r y The study is focused on the real activity of the Parliament of the Czech Republic since the establishment of the Czech Republic in the year 1993. Central idea of parliamentary culture describes rules, customs, manners a behavior, which are typical for a particular Parliament. Two ideal types are introduced by this study: regulated and improvised parliamentary culture. For the first one is typical the direction of parliamentary activity: agreements between parliamentary groups over the course of the session and the debate, a strong role of the Speaker or parliament presidium, an attractive debate with changing speakers for and against, a possibility of a interrupting questions (Zwischenfrage), but also a dominance of frontbenchers. Model cases are the House of Commons of the United Kingdom and the Bundestag. On the other hand an improvised parliamentary culture is more free and chaotic, the daily agenda is often result of a force vote and always can be changed, the order of speakers depends only on order of applications, it can not be voted for the end of debate, it is not allowed to interrupt the Speaker with questions and the factual possition of the Speaker is rather weak. All this is typical for the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. These considerations are the...

Height measurement in the northern area of mining areas Doubrava and Karviná Mines In 2016
Kajzar, Vlastimil ; Waclawik, Petr ; Staš, Lubomír
In the northern area of mining areas Doubrava and Karvina mines on the border RA Detmarovice and Doubrava are implemented, the mining activities. For this reason, in order to detect possible effects of the mine to the surface and surface objects twice a year height focuses, points in this area stable. From 2014 he was a contractor for these works chosen by the Institute of Geonics, v.v.i., Ostrava. In August and November 2016 survey conducted campaigns planned this year, during which it conducted a total of 4 highrise focus of inter-related leveling routes, which are formed by these points. Highrise points are stabilized in the area of interest in several ways - usually in steel design height marks on buildings, then as an iron bolt concreted in the ground or using nails driven into the concrete foundation or other alternative means. Distribution points in the area of interest is indicative captured in the map appendix. Existing trace and focus points are highlighted in green, yellow trace inaccessible points, refocused points in red and violet points that have occurred to their long term disablement or destruction. Each zaměřovaných points in order to trace the terrain carefully documented (GPS coordinates, photos, text description) and registered. These documents are available from the contractor.

The position of the main world currencies in the current world
Štětina, Václav ; Jiránková, Martina (advisor) ; Jedlinský, Jakub (referee)
Nowadays, the subject of world currencies seems to be an often-discussed topic. There are discussions about the descending dominance of the United States of America and dollar, an increasing role of Chinese renminbi, and the troubles of the Eurozone and euro. In 2014, China became the biggest economy in the world. The fact that USA, which was dominating the world economy for 142 years, was surpassed is considered as the end of its dominance and the dominance of dollar. The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to demonstrate the position of three world currencies -- dollar, euro and renminbi -- on the basis of statistics and to estimate their future development.

Analysis of relationship between distribution of pharmacies and economic and demographic factors
Havlík, Karel ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
This thesis main focus is to test the existence of relationship between number of pharmacies in a region and its properties. On data panel spanning over period from 2005 to 2012 in 73 regions, totaling to 578 observations I based econometric model. Average percent of sick leaves, share of pension recipients, share of doctors, the number of parts of village, and population density have been found to be statistically significant. Based on the model, implementation of regulatory fee per prescription was not statistically significant toward the number of pharmacies, even though it affected amount of prescriptions that were used in 2008. Impact of income was not analyzed due to lack of data.

Establishment of the organization Islamic state and its influence on the stability of the Near East
Chudoba, Jan ; Havlová, Radka (advisor) ; Volenec, Otakar (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of the organization Islamic State, which has expanded in the territories of Iraq and Syria where it announced an establishment of a caliphate, which has not been recognized by any state. The Islamic state has challenged the status quo of Iraq and Syria and has significantly contributed to the destabilization of the region of the Near East. The aim of the thesis is primarily to analyze factors that have led to the radicalization of the locals, eventually to the support and expansion of this organization. The theoretical part of the thesis explains how the states of the Near East were created, describes the roots of the Sunni-Shia split and analyzes the socioeconomic and partly security development of Iraq and Syria. The practical part focuses especially on the development in Iraq after the fall of the regime of Saddam Hussein in 2003 and on the development in Syria after the beginning of the civil war in 2011 because these events are of great importance for today's situation. The last chapter of the thesis summarizes the efforts in fighting against this organization and outlines the influence of its existence on the region of the Near East.

Remediation of former In-Situ uranium mining region.
Kříž, Jakub ; Kalous, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
Remediation process of region, formally exploited for chemical leaching of uranium, is based on pumping water contaminated mostly by residuals of sulfuric acid from the relevant geological horizons. The contaminated water is then treated in a chemical plant. In the treatment process evaporators play the key role. Presently operating evaporators – three units – are of falling film type. Heating service is provided by compressed vapor that is generated by evaporators. For driving the compressors and associated circulating pumps of each unit electric power of 3,4 MW is required. In the evaporators treated solution is distributed into individual tubes by nozzles of cyclone type that are mounted at the top end of tubes. In the evaporators feed solution contains calcium sulfide of low concentration. Once the calcium sulfide concentration in the evaporating process reaches the state of saturation, even locally, fouling is initiated. Thus the solids start to grow on the inner surface of the tube wall and the nozzle’s openings become restricted. The evaporator performance – evaporating rate – gradually declines and when it reaches the bottom limit the evaporator has to be shut down. This is followed by carrying out the cleaning procedure. At the time when the evaporators started operating (1996) the period between shut downs lasted around a half a year. However, gradually, this period has become substantially shorter – presently it may even last one week only. The thesis proposes two ways of approaching the present hardly acceptable state. First, replacement of distributing nozzles by a set of properly perforated sieve trays secures the uniform distribution of solution into each individual tube. Second, evaporators’ duty will be taken over by newly build multi-flash concentrator that will substitute the presently operating evaporators. Configuration of this new equipment is derived from widely used multi-flash distillation of sea water. Heat required by the concentrator’s end heaters is drawn from a gas turbine exhaust gas. Steam provided by Heat Recovery Steam Generator is supplied to the condensing heat exchangers installed on the evaporator’s feed stream. Generator coupled to the gas turbine, fueled by natural gas, provides the electric power of 30 MW for export.

EU relationship with the European Convention on Human Rights
Heřmanová, Jolana ; Grmelová, Nicole (advisor) ; Levý, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the accession of the European Union to the European Convention on Human Rights. This accession is being prepared for several decades, and in 2013 finally got to the stage where a draft of the accession agreement was already finished. Now the European Court of Justice delivered his opinion on this draft. The first part of the text is about protection of human rights in Europe, the second part deals with the Court's opinion no. 2/94 dated 28 March 1996 and the following section deals with the changes introduced by the Lisbon Treaty. The fourth part contains an analysis of the current state of the negotiations and the final fifth part of the thesis deals with the relationship of the Court of Justice to the European Court of Human Rights.
