The 2011 parliamentary elections in Turkey and their coverage in the Turkish press

In the present work we provide a research on the Turkish domestic politics before the 2011 parliamentary elections. A detailed analysis of three Turkish daily newspapers (Cumhuriyet, Zaman and Milliyet) enabled us to identify major elections-related topics that appeared in the Turkish press during the political campaign. Our aim is to compare reactions and positions of different political parties and evaluate how a particular topic was being covered in the newspapers. The work especially focuses on the project of a new Constitution, the Kurdish issue, the state of Turkish democracy, the pre-election scandals and the key points of the political agenda of leading parties. In order to reach a better understanding of the current situation we study also the historical context of electoral system in Turkey and the formation of main political parties.

A lesson of higher education funding : England - place to learn?

The object of this thesis is to evaluate whether it is desirable to implement the new English system of higher education funding in the Czech Republic. The English system based on income contingent loans is the youngest system of higher education funding. Chapters two and three put forward criteria sets to determine suitability of education system. The first set of criteria reflects the unique role of human capital, its levels and quality necessary for sustainable economic growth. Second set of criteria includes requirements for the system to be economically efficient. It is further shown that the current Czech system does not fulfil almost any of the criteria in their entirety, indicating a clear need for reform. Upon its confrontation with the two criteria sets on the other hand, the English system is tested as a candidate to be considered in the Czech reform. Also other countries' experience with income contingent loans is provided in order to find out the options to fulfil all the criteria for case an English system fails to do so. Although it is shown that the income contingent mechanism meets both criteria sets it is concluded that the English system includes a number of weaknesses. Reforms of European Labour Markets

Diploma thesis "Reforms of European Labour Markets" deals with the various types of approach of the European Union Member States to regulation of labour market and to the related measures in the field of social security and assistance. Nearly all European states attempt to maintain and develop the concept of welfare state, which ideally should provide the population with the necessary level of security and social protection while simultaneously should not inhibit economic activity and progress by overly rigid regulation. The thesis describes the model categories into which the advanced European countries may be divided, particularly the liberal, Scandinavian and traditional approach. Each of them is associated with specific advantages and disadvantages, between which the Member States seek balance. The respective model types are illustrated using the example of six selected European countries. The subject of interest of the thesis also comprises the recent reform efforts in these Member States. The thesis deals with endeavours to coordinate national policies in the area of employment on the level of European Union institutions and examines both the set targets and actually achieved results in this field. Helping hand in crossing over

The thesis deals with palliative and hospice care. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part there are provided with basic information about palliative care, it describes aspects of palliative care in terms of spiritual, social, psychological and physical. There are also recorded information on facilities that provide palliative care, their characteristic, mission and goals. The thesis is also reported on problems of dying, suffering and death. The work also records a pastoral and social care about dying seniors, a description of a multidisciplinary team of hospice care. The practikal part of the thesis is reported on a detection rate of awareness of palliative and hospice care at the clients of caritas Týn nad Vltavou. Critical evaluation of Šik s reform

The thesis deals with the so called Šik s reform, which was a reform, that tried to implement certain elements of market economy in the centrally planned economy of Czechoslovakia in the sixties of the twentieth century. Firstly the thesis describes the course of the reform, when the importance of the central plan was significantly reduced, the position of enterprises was strengthened and the price system was rebuild. Lately the thesis examines and compares opinions on reform and new economic system of foreign and domestic experts. The goal of the thesis is to discover mistakes and imperfections of implementing of new systém, which could endanger its functioning.

Analysis of social services for seniors in the Czech Republic during the years 2007 - 2015

This thesis focuses on the theme of social services for the elderly and its development since 2007 to 2015. The goal is to describe the development of social services in the Czech Republic, in the regions of the Czech Republic and comparison between them. The Bachelor thesis also has the goal of informing about the current situation and future predictions. The theoretical part deals with the definition of social inclusion services within social policy. An integral part is the description of the basic forms of social services, social service providers and legislative and financial framework for social services in the Czech Republic. The method used in this part is the literature research focused on characteristics of social policies, particularly on social services. The empirical part follows information from theoretical part. The research is focused on the Czech Republic as a whole and then goes into exploring the specifics of individual regions and their comparison. Here, the methods used are: analysis of the existing system of social services and regional comparison. The data sources are mainly from Czech Statistical Office and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The result of my investigation is the confirmation of the need for social services in the lives of seniors. The goal of this thesis is to highlight the current systemic shortcomings of providing and funding of social services, mainly because of increased number of seniors in Czech Republic.

The situation of disabled persons in the labour market in the main City of Prague in 2014 and 2015

The topic of this thesis are disabled people. The main goal of this thesis is describe the situation th these people in the labor market of Prague. This description is based on the founded data and the specialized literature. There will be explained the concepts of labour market, unemployment, aktive employment policy first in the theoretical part. There are for the next time explained the concepts of disabled people, thein characteristics, different type of these disabilities, legislativ of the employnment of these people, rehabilitation programmes and the enterprises with more 50 % share of employed disabled people. The practical part is based on the analysis of the selected dates of Český statistický úřad and Ministerstvo práce a sociálních věcí. There is included my own anonymus questionnaire research of selected eemployers. The goal of this research is to show, how is the situation of the employers and the diabled people in Prague. It was found by using this research, that the situation in our main city is very positive. Employers offer many employments to disabled people, althoug they don't have to do that and they don't have any statutory obligation.

Comparing Immigration and Integration Policies in Czech Republic and Germany on Example of Vietnamese Community in Prague and Turkish Community in Berlin

Diploma thesis "Comparing Immigration and Integration Policies in Czech Republic and Germany with a focus on Vietnamese Community in Prague and Turkish Community in Berlin" deals with immigration policies in the Czech Republic and Germany while focusing on integration of the ethnic communities (Turks and Vietnamese) into the labour market. It also deals with the concept of multi-level governance and focusese on local migration policies in Berlin and Prague. It examines closely the migration of low-qualified workers and based on experience of both coutries it reflects on current policy of circular migration on the European level. Given past experiences the policy of circular migration is considered as problematic. Using migration theories and interdisciplinary approach to understand migration flows not only in both coutries, but also in the European union's level, proved to be fruitful and should further examined in future research.

The decision making in politics and the output of the economy

The key question for this thesis is how to influence decision makers to make their decisions in favour of the society's well-being. This work studies which indicators are suitable in doing so. If it could be gross domestic product or if it is necessary to take into account more indicators. Theoretical background which describes the decision making in politics and the material and nonmaterial output of the economy is then elaborated on the case study of Czech Republic.
