Factors influencing BMI of primary school children

Title: Factors influencing BMI of primary school children Objectives: Familiarization with the principles of physical training and the regime of primary school children. Characterization of the lack of physical activity issue and the risks associated with it. Determination of the present overweight and obesity occurrence according to BMI in primary school children. Determination of the relationship between physical activity and BMI. Determination of the relationship between physical activity of the children and that of their parents. Determination of the relationship between the children's and their parents' BMI values. Methods: The first part of the thesis takes on the character of a summary and aims to recapitulate the basic information regarding the aforementioned topic. The second part then employs an experimental method combining collection of data from surveys and their subsequent analysis. The analyzed material consists of 24 reports collected in ZŠ J. A. Komenského in Lysá nad Labem. Results: From the researched data, approximately 25% of the primary school children are overweight, while about 4% are even obese. The thesis deals with the didactic potential of the magazine Mateřídouška, especially its possible application in the implementation of media education at primary school. The first part of the Thesis focuses on the theoretical knowledge of the psychological development of the child, reader literacy and media literacy and media education as one of the Curricula program for primary education. The second part is a brief analysis of magazine for primary school children. Subsequently, the work focuses longest stemming magazine for primary school children - Mateřídouška magazine. In the analysis are used knowledge presented in the theoretical part of the Thesis. Emphasis is placed upon the analysis primarily on the didactic potential Mateřídouška. The aim of the Thesis is finding if Mateřídouška magazine could be used in the implementation of media education at primary school.
Media manipulation at primary school and defence against it

This diploma thesis engage in the manipulation aimed at primary school children, especially manipulation of commercial and its effect on the child recipient. The theoretical part of thesis defines terms manipulation, media and advertisement, as well as media education in the current curriculum, in the general educational program and in the textbooks for 1st primary schools. The empirical part of thesis is divided into the methodical unit and experimental unit. The methodical unit describes the implemented project for advertisement and defense against media manipulation. Observations took place during the project, the results of this observation are described in the experimental unit. It is included questionnaire survey and its analysis. The last part of this thesis is concept of methodics, which outlines strategies to help prevent the possible manipulation.
Occurrence of communication disabilities of children between the ages of three to seven years old.

In my exam I focus on the occurrence of NKS (communication disorder) in pre-school aged children. I am interested in speech disorders that commonly occur in this age group. Individual disorders describe - how they express themselves and what the individual impact is on the child, whether the child is aware of this disorder and how. Furthermore, I will focus on speech therapy intervention, focus on the way how these children are being treated in nursery schools. Whether the schools have their own speech therapist or if the teachers leave the responsibility of treating this disorder simply to the parents. It also analyze the situation in the first half year of the first class of the primary school. Whether NKS (communication disorder) has the same occurrence or a decrease is rather noticeable.

Titule: Children's motor skills in track and field (children 6-9 years) Student: Jana Javůrková Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Aims: One of the objectives of this work was the determination of the physical readiness and motion level of primary school children with the aid of five purposely selected motor tests. The research was conducted among the group of children of athletic prep. The results were compared with tabulated values in literature. Simultaneously was monitored the relationship between performances and measured body weight and hight of monitored children. Using the questionnaire were recorded the attitudes of children to sport, to other physical activities and last but not least, athletic disciplines from the point of view of popularity. Methodology: For the purpose of this thesis was evaluated a total of n = 28 children of primary school age, which were divided into two groups according to age, 6-7 years old (year of birth 2006-2005) and 8-9 years (year of birth 2004-2003). Relatioship of somatic and motor variables to the postural stability in children

Subject In professional literature progressive development of postural stability related to the age during the childhood is documented which is characterized by decline of amplitude and speed deviations. The postural stability becomes similar to adults by primary school children, specifically in the age of 7 to 10 (Shumway-Cook, Woollacott, 2001) and children switch to more accurate strategy of postural control. The period of primary school is described as positive for motor development. Performance in this period is most considerably influenced by biogenetic factors which include growth factors as for instance body height, weight and body composition. An appropriate movement routine with an adequate amount and quality of movement activity is important for development of children's organism by primary school children. Objective The aim of this work is to describe the changes of chosen parameters of postural stability which are related to the age and gender of primary school children and to submit to analysis the changes in chosen parameters of postural stability in connection with somatic characteristics, movement abilities and movement activity. Drinking regime of the primary school children in the South of Bohemia

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to a drinking regime of children in primary school age. The theoretical part deals with the function and composion of the water as the most important aspect of human life and nutrition. This part of also contains a recommended daily fluid intake in children. Attention is also paid to dehydration. The practical part is based on analysis of the defined assumptions that are proved by questionnaire survey. The main objective of the practical part is to discover the drinking habits in children, if children prefer to sweet drinks to water and if they have an awareness of dehydration.
