Time management nurse manager in the intensive care

Subjects: This diploma thesis is dedicated to the topic of time management in nursing - it deals with four generations of time management and with its different techniques. Furthermore it describes functions and roles of a manager. Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to analyse time management issues that concern nurse managers working in intensive care. The main goal of the research is to answer following question: How do nurse managers in intensive care use and organise their working time? Secondary goals are: to name priorities of nurse managers on an ordinary working day, to find out which timekeeping devices do nurse managers use for direct measuring of time consumption, to analyze managerial strategies used by nurse managers for their time management, to sum up the most frequent tasks postponed by nurse managers for a later time and find the reasons of procrastination. Methodology: Data were gained through a combined quantitative and qualitative research design. Quantitative research was done through the use of a time frame of a working day and a working week of nurse managers. Results were presented in boxes and charts to provide a better overview. Teacher's evaluation as a manager skill

An Abstract: Evaluation is a crucial part of every human activity and every qualified school teacher knows that it is not possible to do the work without evaluating activities. That's why the teacher's evaluation becomes a necessary, meaningful and obvious part of the educational process. It belongs to the most difficult teaching activities. The target of my bachelor's work is to find out teachers' attitudes and practical experiences with evaluation. In a detailed analysis I tried to show the extensive and wide range that the ability contents. The meaning of my work is to describe and analyse all the evaluating activities on the basis of a qualitative research using a method of an interview. I tried to find out in which different professional contents nursery school teachers and manager school teachers do their evaluating activities. The work is divided in a theoretical and a practical part. The fisrt part is a summary of evaluation theoretical knowledge based on a study of technical literature. In the bachelor's work there are described processes of teacher's evaluating activities. In the practical part there are mentioned the results of the research which was carried out by a method of an interview with three nursery school and basic school teachers. Time frame of elementary school principals

Abstracts: This bachelor's thesis concerns the technique intended to determine the distribution of individual activities during the day. This analytic technique is known as the "time frame". In this thesis, the technique is described not only theoretically, including the short overview about the alternative managers' techniques resulting with the better effectivity of elementary school principals' work. The thesis contains also a demonstration of practical research. Having the form of a special questionnaire, the time frames of a few elementary school principals are identified and processed, including the part of their personal time, i. e. not within the working hours. The proposed procedures should protect against the time thieves, as well as increase the effectivity of daily working habits of the elementary school principal. This thesis shows the interconnection of individual managers' techniques with time management field and brings inspiration to elementary school principals on how to use their time more effectively.
