School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka

New komplex of school buildings in Ostrava on Černá louka is the school with perspective for the future. It provides overall education and concentrate on maximum efficiency of learning proces. The idea links the theory with practical demonstration and intense learning with relaxation in nature enviromnemt. The teaching system support the independent activity of each individual and self-realization for everyone. The school allows some variability of internal organization of space and take into consideration the technology development and the capacity of youngsters to understand it and embrace it.
Media education at schools-critical-analytic or production approach

The aim of this diploma thesis, which is entitled "Media Education in schools - critical-analytic or production approach", is to map the current state of practice of media education in a sample of secondary schools (gymnasiums) in central Bohemia. Our goal is to provide readers with broader theoretical insight into the concept of media literacy (as a goal of any media education), to capture a brief history of development of the perspective on the role of media education, as well as to examine how media education is incorporated within the Czech system of secondary education, and also to reflect on its possible forms of implementation. Last but not least, the intent of the thesis is to describe two basic approaches to media education, both of which are directed to development of media literacy. Our research led by a combination of questionnaires and interviews with educators suppose to be used as a tool that should help us to bridge the theory with an image of factual practice. The research part primarily aims to provide insight into framework of the current practice of teaching media education in secondary schools in central Bohemia, and through interpretation of the main remarks points to (at least) basic issues which teachers of media education must deal with.
Didactics of Film and Audiovisual Education

The presented dissertation addresses main issues of film education. It deals with the fact, that film has become a subject of education in the Czech Republic and other European countries in the last years. Thus, it has also had its place in the Czech Framework Education Programme for elementary and grammar schools (gymnasia) since 2010, as Film and Audiovisual Education, a complementary subject of the Art and Culture educational area. This dissertation inserts this actuality into the historical context and reflects on the situation, that calls for a reconsideration of curricular matters of both artistic and media area: the importance of film as an artistic form, that has been an irreplaceable component of human culture for more than hundred years, as well as the omnipresence of the audiovisual medium in the society. The dissertation treats complex educational goals of Film and Audiovisual Education: it approaches the film education as an opportunity to develop so called film literacy and illuminates its meaning; it pursues the development of important personal traits of the pupils that the film teaching can bring. Implementation of project activities into the teaching of regular subjects in adapted physical activity

Name: Implementation of project activities into the teaching of regular subjects of Adapted Physical Activity. Objective: The aim of the thesis is finding out the current state of implementation of project activities into the teaching of regular subjects of APA, examining the students experience with project-based learning, their opinion on project-based learning and the impact of project- based learning on students and their professional and personal life. Furthermore, to present opinions, ideas, experiences, comments and perspectives of students to practising pedagogues and professional public in order to improve attitude to project activities in APA. Methods: We will use theoretical qualitative research phenomenological conception. To achieve our objectives was used a literary analysis, which introduces theoretical bases in relation to APA, pedagogy and philosophy and self-opinion survey containing 46 closed and open questions focused on experience, opinion and attitude towards project-based learning among 15 contemporary and former students of APA who were intentionally selected. John Dewey: Experience and Education

This thesis deals with terms like experience and experiential learning in publications by John Dewey. The aim of this thesis is to find out how John Dewey works with issues of experiential learning. The thesis is structured in six main chapters. Each chapter is relevant to one Dewey´s book, which is related to experiential learning theory. In the first chapter, there are general thoughts of experiential learning from Experience and Nature. In the second chapter, Art as Experience is analysed, in which Dewey researches experience connected with art and aesthetics. The third chapter presents an analysis of The Child and The Curriculum, focused on curriculum from the point of experimental learning. The fourth chapter is concerned with The School and Society, in which there are obvious thoughts of experiential learning from educational and social perspective. The fifth chapter is based on Democracy and Education, where John Dewey thinks about experiential learning and its consequences for an individual in democratic society. Last chapter analyses Experience and Education, which sums up and complements the previous publications.
LEGO Mindstorms: Didactic utilization in mathematics with a focus on fractals

TITLE: LEGO Mindstorms: Didactic utilization in mathematics with a focus on fractals ABSTRACT: The objective of this thesis is to determine whether the teaching of fractal geometry supported by computer and robotic LEGO Mindstorms NXT has its place in the education of primary and secondary schools pupils in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on key topics and personalities closely connected to fractal geometry problematics. It provides a brief historical overview of the fractal geometry development, its potential use in teaching mathematics (with reference to Turkish curriculum documents), and a description of LEGO Mindstorms NXT which can well serve as a manual for teachers and pupils. The practical part contains instructions for building a robotic turtle as well as a proposal of teaching block aimed to support pupils' algorithmic and geometric thinking including key competencies. Quantitative comparison of the results taken from Turkish studies and evaluation of the project by the author and pupils are a part of the experiment as well. Shool broadcasting as a tool for the developement of the media leteracy

The bachelor thesis School broadcasting as a tool for the developement of the media literacy is dedicated to the creation of the school radio in the context of the media literacy. In particular, the bachelor thesis deals with the role of media production activities in the media education and their expected outputs, with an emphasis on the school radio. In the theoretical part of the thesis is first of all characterised the consolidation of the media education in the Czech eduacational system with the focus on the concept learning by doing. Subsequently, the thesis is dedicated to the school radio, its history and the technical and personal aspect of its operation. Besides, it contemplates the problem of the methodical support for teachers and school radio creators. Moreover, a brief description of chosen foreign projects concerning methodical support is brought up. The practical part of the thesis consists the data obtained from interviews with redactions of school radios in schools in the Czech republic. It is mainly focused on the practical side of the operation of the school radio and on competences that students can gain by participating on the creation of the school radio. In the end, these competences and experiences are compared with expected outputs of production activities in media education.
The Analysis of MF DNES's Project: Students Read and Write Newspaper

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of a project designed to promote media literacy among secondary school students. It is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part basic terms related to media education, its current status in the Czech Republic and the inclusion of media education in the curriculum are defined. Two main approaches in the development of media education are looked at in detail. The practical part explains the history and present situation of the organization behind the project, including its actual market position. It further describes in detail, the project itself, its rules, schedule, as well as its stated intention. It shortly mentions several abroad projects with similar themes, which puts the project into an international context. It briefly analyzes the themes, in which the students were engaged. The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the students' outcomes in one topic of the examined volume. It focuses on the students' contributions, which were published in the printed journal, and therefore, shaped the media image of the project. Finally, it tries to interpret the views of secondary school teachers and students, who were involved in the project.
Experience Reflective Activity in the Primary Prevention of Socially pathological Phenomena

The aim of presented bachelor thesis named "Experiential-reflective activities in primary prevention of socially pathological phenomena" is to theoretically set the experiential-reflective activities in relation to the prevention of socially pathological phenomena and to introduce the experiential-reflective method of Forum Theatre. This thesis is focused mainly theoreticaly. First part introduces the socially pathological phenomena, the cause of socially pathological behavior and demarcation and classification of socially pathological phenomena. Second part is focused on primary prevention and its realisation. Third part describes the experiential-reflective activities, experiental learning and learning-by-doing method. Fourth chapter is about the Forum theatre method, it's history and mainly it's realisation. The last part is practically focused, it describes author's personal experience with Forum theatre and it's relisation in the elementary schools. In addition, this experience is enriched by research interviews. These interviews are focused on opinions and experience of the teachers who are familiar with Forum theatre method.
