Eva Stratilová Urválková; Dissertation Thesis Title: Microcomputer-Based Laboratory in Secondary School Chemistry Education Abstract School experimental practice should reflect the real laboratory practice so that school science keeps in touch with reality. Todays laboratories are fully equipped with instrumental devices that are often presented in media, so it is necessary that students have experience also with this way of experiments. For school purposes seem suitable probeware (school experimental systems), that combine modern technology with concept of student-centered learning (eg inquiry based science education) that should successfully prepare students for lifelong learning. During recent years probeware has become one of discussed topics in Czech science education, but there has been a lack of research examining whether both teachers and pupils are prepared to accept and implement probeware into school chemistry curriculum. Almost none research has been done in field search describing the way of using the probeware and microcomputer-based laboratory in Czech school curriculum. Quality Improvement Process Support at Social Service

This diploma thesis deals with support of quality increasing process at social service provider in Domov pro seniory, Zahradní Město in Prague. The theoretical part intercepts a development of social services in context of social and legislative changes, theoretically deals with spheres which relate with change management process i.e. quality of social services, organizational culture and conflicts. With use of qualitative and quantitative methods was followed process of main aim filling of thesis i.e. quality increasing of provided social service. By focus group method was verified successfulness of planned process in praxis of social service provider. Final part of thesis contains my reflection of process from process participant view and from managerial practice view. I also give out my vision of further organization progress shortly. Considering to results of research evaluative phase it is possible to say that main aim of thesis i.e. quality increasing process of provided social service was fulfilled. It is possible to note that partial aims of diploma thesis were successfully fulfilled too i.e. describe action research process, define process pillars and barriers. Creation process of strategic plan in non-profit organization

This diploma thesis deals with the description and reflection of the strategic planning process in a non-profit organization. From the theoretical foundation, presented in the first part of this thesis, the author creates a model of the methods by introducing the strategic approach into the praxis of management in the chosen non-profit organization. In the practical part of this thesis she describes and reflects the process of participative establishment of the strategic plan for one of the services of this organization. In the conclusion of the thesis she deduces from the practical findings some recommendations. TITTLE: Influencing a narrow practice of Visual Arts Education in pre-school AUTHOR: Milena Menčíková DEPARTMENT: Art Education Department SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Helena Kafková ABSTRACT: This thesis describes the practice of Visual Arts Education in one particulal pre-school. It presents hypothesis on genesis and establishing certain practice, using the tools of case study. Its integral part is to offer the participant a relatively wider conception of Visual Arts Education. The text is divided into two parts. The first part is concerned with teoretical findings, it consists of propositions of the whole thesis, which are: the current and older conceptions of Visual Arts Education for pre-school and the elementary level. Grounding Visual Arts Education as specific area of education, which can be found in RVP PV. The second part consists of data accumulated and analyzed through hybrid approach using the tools of action research and case study. It presents hypothesis on the genesis and establishing the Visual Arts Education practice of the participant. Inquiry methods in educational area Man and his world: Seeds, fruit and young plants

This diploma work deals with the issues of inquiry methods of teaching at primary schools. The theoretical part provides some reflections on contributions and limits of inquiry methods and defines basic inquiry skills. Activities concerning the theme "seeds, fruit, young plants" for the pupils of the 1.-4.grade are suggested in the practical part. Nine of them were tried out in classes. The results of the action research are summarized in the conclusion. They are related to these research questions: 1. How to adjust inquiry activities in a suitable way for their use in the given classes at primary schools? 2. How do children react to this work style? 3. What demands does this work style make on teachers? 4. What problems concerning partial inquiry skills could emerge? How to continue working at them?
Google apps in the process of making school education programme

In the theoretical part, the author discusses the technological principles of Google Apps and proposes a way to use them for making the school education programme. In the practical part presents the results of action research attesting specific expected benefits of using Google Apps for the creation of the school education programme. Details the results of each of the 4 cycles of action research, which is currently becoming the next cycle starting points. Based on the experience the author recommends the use of innovative technologies Google Apps as an alternative solution to traditional forms of team projects in the school environment.
Teaching English Dental Fricatives to Czech EFL Students . An Action Research Project

This bachelor thesis presents an educational action research project focused on the teaching of the English dental fricatives /θ/ and /ð/ to Czech EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the dental fricatives and their production in standard and several other English accents. Furthermore, the issue of teaching pronunciation is being discussed with special attention paid to the Czech students of English and their problems with the pronunciation of the target sounds. The practical part turns the attention to a detailed description of the action research project which was implemented by the author of the thesis in one of her English courses during January and February 2011 with the aim to improve her own teaching methods and at the same time help her students to improve their pronunciation of the English dental fricatives.
Teacherďs competences and action research in mathematics teaching

In the contribution meaningful role of systematic carrying out of self-reflection and common reflection in the professional development of teachers. Reflection and action research are shown as key items in the development of subject-didactic and pedagogical competences of teachers and in improvement of quality of mathematics education and teaching. The base of contribution is a video recording of realisation of teaching experiments designed by teachers themselves.

Our considerations are based on samples of teachin experiments and following collective reflection of teachers and researchers.
