Perception of Generative Artificial Intelligence in selected Newsrooms of Domestic News Media with a Focus on Changes in Journalistic Ethics

The bachelor thesis delves into the subject of artificial intelligence and simultaneously explores its application in domestic editorial offices, along with the emerging ethical challenges associated with these technologies. In the theoretical section, in addition to introducing generative artificial intelligence itself and platforms such as ChatGPT or Midjourney operating on this basis, it describes the ethical domains in which the mentioned tools may instigate changes. The thesis includes a qualitative research component based on twelve in-depth semi- structured interviews with respondents from both public-service and private newsrooms actively utilizing generative artificial intelligence. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the media portrayal of the war Ukraine in the main newscast of TV Nova, namely in the evening news session Televizní noviny. The thesis will describe how the conflict evolved within the course of a year in the specified television program and how the television covered the progress of the war at the beginning and after a year of its duration. Through content analysis, the thesis primarily focuses on the news that provided people with current information about the war and the events of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. It examines the frequency of news reports on Ukraine as well as their length and placement as they were featured in TV Nova's most watched newscast during the first year of the war. Depending on this, the theoretical part of the thesis will deal with Czech television news and on what principles it works, research dealing with people's relationship to the media, etc. TV Nova will be described with an emphasis on news and their news session Televizní noviny, which is currently the most watched evening news session in the Czech Republic. Public attitudes towards crystal meth users

This Bachelor thesis investigates how media outlets portray and discuss meth users. Specifically, the thesis aims to identify and analyze the patterns, stereotypes, and biases present in media portrayals of meth users. It also seeks to confirm or reject pre-established hypotheses. The thesis employed a quantitative content analysis of 75 selected print and online news articles published between 2021 and 2024. The analysis focused on identifying the frequency of stigma, minority/race representation, selected topics, and other key aspects. The collected data was then systematically coded and categorized based on the research objectives. After coding, data analysis was conducted using Excel. The main findings from the data analysis confirmed both pre-established hypotheses. Meth users are portrayed in the media in a stereotypical and stigmatizing way. Additionally, the results indicate that the Roma community is overrepresented in the media in connection with meth use. Articles associating Roma people with meth use were predominantly negative in tone. The thesis highlights problematic trends in the media portrayal of meth users, emphasizing the stereotypes and prejudices they face, as well as the discrimination against the Roma community in relation to this issue. The media system of Ukraine and its transformation in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian War

The thesis focuses on the Ukrainian media, the Ukrainian media system and its transformation especially in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The aim of the thesis is to describe and to understand the transformations of the media system along with it the trends among Ukrainian media consumers. In the introductory part of the thesis, the historical-political context of the country and its ideological and political fragmentation are explained. The developments in the country are characterised through the lens of different presidencies, which quite plausibly symbolize the direction of the country in time. The paper summarizes important approaches in the field of comparative media studies. The dominant media outlets in Ukraine and their ownership structure are described. The analytical part of the work focuses on the development of the Ukrainian media system from 2019 to 2023; an analytical framework for characterizing the media system in a wartime context is introduced (with an emphasis on audiences); the criteria embedded in Hallin and Mancini's typology are combined with criteria focusing on trust in the media and its development; and current Ukrainian media system is categorised according to Hallin and Mancini's original typology.

The thesis deals with students' attitude towards media content about the war in Ukraine in the context of media education at the grammar school in Písek, South Bohemia. The main aim is to investigate how students perceived and interpreted media content about the war in Ukraine during the first month of the conflict, to analyse their views on the media coverage of the conflict, and to find out what role media education had in informing students about the war in Ukraine. The thesis is divided into two parts, namely theoretical and empirical, and links several important and current issues such as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, its media coverage and media education in secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the context of the issue, the role of media in reporting on war conflicts and the importance of media education and media literacy in relation to media coverage of the war in Ukraine. This is followed by the empirical part, in which qualitative research is presented. Sexual themes in the media and their impact on girls'self-image

This bachelor thesis deals with sexual content in the media and its effects on the self-image of adolescent girls. Sexual content occurs across media with increasing frequency. These contents are very easily accessible due to smart technologies in today's digital age. The theoretical section discusses media in relation to sexuality, emphasizes defining erotic and sexual elements and themes, and reviews the importance and development of self-image along with possible influences on girls' self-image. This is followed by a methodological section that outlines the research method, the selection of respondents and the analysis of the data collected along with the ethical context of the research. The research part took the form of qualitative semi-structured interviews with adolescent girls aged thirteen to eighteen. The data collected was subsequently processed through thematic analysis. The data collected through the interviews revealed that the media has a significant influence on girls' self-image, both positive and negative, through the consumption of sexual content - erotic and sexual themes and elements. The diploma thesis titled "Themes resonating in the Czech presidential elections 2023: Content analysis of interviews and debates with candidates Petr Pavel, Andrej Babiš and Danuše Nerudová" examines the form of pre-election presidential debates and interviews in 2023. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the changes brought about by digital media, and at the same time confirms the strong position that debates still have in the media world. Although various elements and segments have been incorporated into the debates with the intention of reaching a wider audience, the tradition of the debates still remains. The practical part of the thesis consists of a content analysis of the speeches of the selected candidates. Sources come from both traditional and digital media. The thesis sets the main agenda of pre- election debates and interviews, which consists of seven topics. Quantitative analysis showed that despite Petr Pavel's greater media space, Andrej Babiš was able to surpass him in the length of his speech.
