Congruence of managerial competencies of teacher, headmaster and business manager

This thesis deals with the managerial competencies of school teachers and headmasters. It also focuses on finding the common features of such competencies as are shared by the two aforementioned professions and company managers. Its main aim is to find out whether a successful teacher would be equally successful in the position of a headmaster, or whether a company manager can be a successful headmaster without having worked as a teacher. The theoretical part deals with the definition of "management" and managerial functions, the definition of school management, and "classroom management". The personalities of a manager, their qualities, knowledge, skills, the term "leadership" as well as "competencies" are also clarified here. At the end of this part there is an analysis of managerial competencies in the position of a company manager, headmaster, and teacher as well. The practical part analyses the subjective perception of the job duties, required qualities, skills and competencies in teachers, headmasters and managers. The thesis contains a comparative research. Dialogue was used to map such activities as form the daily job duties of the two professions and such competencies as help the respondents to be successful at work. Competencies of deputy headmaster of primary school

A thesis deals with still not very clear conception of the deputy headmaster of the primary school. It determines which competences are delegated to these workers , and whether the scope of their activities affects the size of the school and any number of deputy headmasters . The selected sample of primary schools in the Czech Republic were studied and then the current practice was described in the key areas of the school management. The present thesis has been completed using available literature a freely accessible Internet resources relating to the topic . Based on generally accepted legal norms and specific laws governing the area of education. A quantitative research was conducted in the form of a questionnaire in the online environment . It was aimed at determining the scope of competences of the deputy headmasters in the key areas of school management and identifying specific actions contained in the job description . Addressed respondents were the deputy headmasters of the school head . Their views on the possible definition of a legal base of this job and the number of students and graduates of the shool management were also examined. This thesis focuses on the proper use of various assessment methods for selection and development of employees in various positions within an organization. The selection and use of assessment methods have been tailored to practical requirements for each position in the organization with regard to their specificities. This current thesis elaborates on the assessment for technical, administrative, managerial jobs with special emphasis being put on the assessment for sales positions. Within the strategic assessment programmes the thesis deals with assessing the potential of individuals and the prediction of future behavior which is of great importance for the organization's future success. An Integrated Model of Potencial is specifically mentioned in this chapter and its practical use is suggested. In the second, empirical part of the thesis an attempt has been made to create a specific competency model for entry-level services salespeople and proposals for its practical use have been outlined. Delegation of Activities at Elementary School Central Management

This bachelor thesis - Delegation of Activities at Elementary School Central Management - deals with school management. It is based on the model of company management, which divides management into three levels. The main attention is paid to middle management, particularly to the methodical authorities at elementary school, respectively to its senior executives; this work traces their status, roles, performed activities, required competencies. The theme of the work is based on the belief that although nowadays headmasters are overburdened with administrative tasks and have difficulty in fulfilling all the aspects and roles that are given to them by the leading functions, delegation of their powers and thus the potential of their teaching staff is not used effectively for various reasons.
Analysis of a beginning teacher and his common problems in an educational process

Thesis "Beginning teacher - analysis of his personality, work and the most common problems in his work" deals with the personality of a beginning teacher, mentions the most common problems in his work and tries to find ideas for improving the situation. As the same times in analyses the selected components of his personality, which usually participates the lack of attention, especially in preparing future teachers, and which usually not mentioned in proper context. It focuses primary on the professional competence of teachers in relation to the student's core competencies as well as in other contexts. It also discusses the role of novice teachers in the context of the transformation of the Czech education system and also in the context of the Lisbon process. Analyses of key documents are included too. Great attention is paid to think about the different problematic areas concerning the work of novices teachers. In this context, the author focuses on the matter of authority and educational styles. It is based not only on the special literature but also on the sound, which took the form of numerous interview, surveys, questionnaires and observation. 3 Abstract Diploma thesis "Key competencies of employees of democratic organizations and their development" is focused on the so-called free organizations and their requirments for potential employees. It follows the characteristics of this concept and its context from the perspective of managing organizations. In the research the required soft skills of these organizations have been compared with the requirments of other organizations, using the analysis of their recruitment ads. It also identifies those soft skills, which are required significantly more by free organizations. Following this, the thesis also deals with the development of competencies, for example in preparation for potencial employment in a free organization. Social partnership: role of employers and vocational schools in employment of young people Barbora Veverková Abstract This thesis "Social partnership: role of employers and vocational schools in employment of young people" deals with the issue of cooperation between schools and employers in vocational education. The paper uses theoretical background such as theory of employability, diversified system of education and dual system of education. It deals with the issue within the system set in Czech Republic and it examines the way it works. In this context, the paper shows historical background of the partnership and also its legislative background. It examines changes in consequences of new curricular reform and the making of school education programs and it brings closer look at the concept of cooperative model of vocational education. On the base of specific examples of cooperation of schools and employers it is showed how this works in our country and also in Germany, it evaluates the setting of the system and identifies its main problems.
Changes of the Literacy Concept

This paper treats changes of the literacy concept. It presents five most important conceptual frameworks, such as literacy rate, functional literacy, Freirean framework, New literacy studies and literacies of information. Literacy can be defined as the ability to read and write, as a set of basic skills or as competencies. Because of OECD's influence, the functional literacy concept is the most powerful one. Literacy involves a continuum and is oriented mostly towards economical outputs. Influence of OECD is supported by the international surveys IALS, ALL, PIAAC, PISA and LAMP. The surveys TIMSS and PIRLS organized by IEA are influential as well. This paper summarizes the most important critical reviews to the OECD's methodology and to the interpretation of the results. It also comments current activities of OECD, UNESCO and European union. Based on the socio- cultural framework, it brings in several recommendations how states and organizations could approach literacy and its assessment. The paper relies on the documents of UNESCO, OECD, IEA, the World Bank, the European union and on the published works of foreign and local experts.
