Study on dynamics of spinning apparatus of some wolf spiders (Araneae: Lycosidae) during their life cycle

Current knowledge of the spinning apparatus comes namely from studies on orb web spiders and their relatives, whereas that of wolf spiders were more or less neglected. Therefore, developmental changes of the spinning apparatus of four wolf spiders were studied throughout their life cycles. Each of these lycosids possesses stenochronous life cycle with similar number of instars (7-10) but of different length (1-3 years). There is only one period of reproduction in spring/summer in all four species. Sperms are being formed just after the final moult; diplotene in some species is peculiar. The courtship behaviour reflects the microhabitat occupied by the concrete spider species; the copulations are species specific. Ontogeny of the spinning apparatus of developing spiderlings was observed: The spinning apparatus initiate its function in the first instar. Secondary ampullate, all piriform and all but four aciniform glands are tartipore-accommodated; they do not moult in situ. The tartipores, vestigial structures corresponding to spigots of the previous instar, appear on the spinning field starting with the second instar. Tartipore-accommodated glands play roles also during proecdysis and their evolution corresponds with the way how do the spiders secure themselves when moulting. Hence, the not yet...

Johann Georg de Hamilton. Life and Work.

The content of this dissertation is the life and œuvre of Johann Georg de Hamilton, a relatively obscure painter of hunts, portraits of horses, hunting still-lifes and hunting scenes. Johann Georg de Hamilton (1672-1737), a painter belonging to a famous Scottish family, was influenced in his creative work considerably by the 17th -century Flemish painters of still-lifes and hunting scenes. He was active predominantly in Vienna and in South Bohemia, in service of Adam František, Prince of Schwarzenberg, as well as Karl VI of House Habsburg. He created hunting-themed paintings and portraits of horses to members of both the secular and the ecclesiastic aristocracy of the lands of the Austrian Empire, such as the Houses of Liechtenstein, Serényi, Althan and others. This dissertation is the very first attempt at a monographic analysis of the life and œuvre of this painter. In addition to new bibliographic data, it offers an in-depth insight into the relationship between the person who commissioned his work, Adam František, Prince of Schwarzenberg, and the painter Johann Georg de Hamilton on the basis of extant correspondence, and also attempts to present the painter's œuvre in a cultural-historical and artistic context. Psychosocial intervention for women with perinatal loss

This dissertation is focused on mapping the needs and development of experiencing the prenatal loss integration process in mothers, whose child died during the second or the third pregnancy trimester or suffered stillbirth. The goal of this dissertation is to suggest optimal intervention, which would prevent the progress of complications in terms of psychological disorders (PTSD, PAS). The theoretical part describes prenatal loss from the aspect of incidence and etiology and the loss of a close relative in general. It also focuses on the specifics of prenatal loss, the topic of crisis and its experience, phases of crisis, definition of the term "psychosocial intervention" and demarcation of its existing forms. This part also offers several perspectives and attitudes to the topic of grief as a process of hard life experience integration. It also describes several phases and problems connected with their fulfillment. The empirical part focuses on surveying the experiences and needs of women, who have suffered with prenatal loss. It also follows the approaches and circumstances, means of support, which helped women to cope with such an experience. Caspar David Friedrich, The motif of figure at the window, its genesis and evolution.

The thesis deals with the life and work of Caspar David Friedrich (1774 - 1840) who is considered one of the most important painters and drawers of the German romanticism. His main contribution for painting was the creation of pictures with subjective, later also politically motivated symbolism. The themes of his works in particular included the nature where persons often stand and watch the landscape in distance. The first chapter provides information on the personality and work of the painter who created a new style of landscaping. In nature he discovered the spiritual element that he connected with the picture. The work then describes the influences of the romantic literary movement and religion on his work. The second chapter presents a female figure turned with her back to the viewer in a painting called Woman by the Window from 1822. Various interpretations of art historians connected especially with romanticising visions of individuality and infinity are presented. The origin and development of the female figure turned with her back to the viewer in painting from prehistoric times up to the 20th century is also outlined. Josef Willomitzer (1849 - 1900). Life and Work of German Writing Author from Bohemia. The bachelor theses deals with life and work of german writing author from Bohemia, Josef Willomitzer. The work describes as a introduction the social and culture situation in Prague in the end of 19. century. The following chapters concern Willomitzers life and work in context of the historical and political development of Bohemia. The work is based on information available from ressources such as lexicons, newspaper articles and archive ressources. Apart from his life is in this work described also his journalistic activity. In the last part is summarized Willomitzers literary work. The analysis of chosen works which correspond to certain historical topics is also involved. Studies of the Mouse polyomavirus: properties of the minor structural proteins, requirements for virion productive trafficking to the nucleus and observed side effects of DNA transfection.

In this thesis, we aimed to investigate the role of Mouse polyomavirus (MPyV) minor structural proteins, VP2 and VP3 in the viral life cycle as well as to study specific aspects of the productive trafficking of the virus. The thesis is divided into 3 chapters as follows: chapter 1 addresses questions about the interaction of the minor structural proteins, VP2 and VP3, of MPyV with host cells and their role during late stages of virus infection. In the chapter 2, aspects concerning the role of late endosomes, recycling endosomes and actin cytoskeleton in MPyV productive infection are addressed and in the chapter 3, results of studies of interferon (IFN) responses induced after DNA nucleofection are presented. The study in chapter 3 was preceded by a microarray analysis primary performed to reveal cell responses to the presence of the minor proteins within host cells. We showed that both MPyV minor structural proteins, VP2 and VP3, when produced individually (without VP1) are highly cytotoxic, inducing fast, caspase dependent apoptosis. Immuno-electron and confocal microscopy revealed affinity of both proteins to endocellular membranes. Both VP2 and VP3 were found to be bound to damaged ER and mitochondrial membranes. Cultural identity of migrants in France

This master thesis investigates adaptation and cultural identity of migrants living in France. The sample consisted of migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa and French overseas departments who went to France for their studies. The research contains a qualitative and a quantitative part. The qualitative study was realized through semi-structural interwiev, in which partici- pated 19 students in age from 21-33 years. Results indicate that the migrants identify in their country of origin mostly with solidarity and warmth of the people, which contrasts with impersonal relationships of an individualistic french society. In spite of occasional experience with discrimination in France, most of migrants seem to adapt quite well. In France, they appretiate mostly the opportunity to succeed in life, which is given to everybody, something that is far from the case in their country of origin. In the quantitative study, 40 migrants in age from 18-45 years completed a questionnaire survey on internet. Due to a small number of participants the research have rather orientatio- nal character. Results indicated, unexpectedly, that the strenght of ethnic identity diminishes over time, which is in contradiction with several previous studies. Study of self-presentation of artist in the Italian painting of the 16th century - abstract Italian art of the 16th century, known as the Cinquecento, is undoubtedly a captivating chapter of art history. No less interesting are the lives of artists from that time, the understanding of self-value and its presentation, creating the artist's identity, i.e. their "artistic self". Within a century we may observe the transformation from a craftsman to an artist, and subsequently artist- the courtier. The main representatives of this "movement", trying to raise the status of arts and artists in the society, were Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari. Each represented a different generation of artists; however, figures of both these painters are complemented in a curious way. There are moments when their lives meet and, in a certain way, follow one another. It is one of the reasons, why the connection Vasari-Zuccari is suitable for understanding social situation or the self-presentation of central Italian artists in the 16th century. Master Thesis: Customer Lifetime Value - Application to Banking Sector Author: Zuzana Lajksnerová Abstract This thesis deals with the calculation of the customer life value for clients of second largest Czech commercial banks - Československá obchodní banka a.s.. The aim is to estimate the revenue each individual brings to the bank within the first year, two, four since creating a profile but also during the whole time he or she remains in their customer base. The first, theoretical part contains of structured overview of the modeling approach from available literature. In the second part, we develop two different models, which are subsequently applied on client data of 2.7 million ČSOB customers. The prediction takes into account both revenues from each product and probability that customer will use this product. For estimation of the two models we use several different econometric methods, thus linear regression, bootstrap, probit and multinomial logit. The results show that demographic data such as age and gender, as well as product related variables, greatly inuence the final level of value of customer. It is also shown that higher potential earnings are associated with men, people of working age and loyal customers.

Music as a Value of Human's life

The thesis considers an issue of the value of music in a human life. In the theoretical section the author interprets the term music and its roles in human life using available literature. Moreover, she focuses on the influence of a music on human psyche, in context of emotions, thinking, fantasy and motivation. The author also deals with the description of musical development of a personality. The author is also attentive to issues of values and value orientation in a human life. In the empirical section the author works with three groups of respondents; namely, with active musicians (i. e. playing a musical instrument or singing). She included professional musicians (group of students of music) and amateur musicians (group of working people with a musical hobby and a group of university students with a musical hobby). There are 33 respondents in the sample aged from 20 to 30. The comparison of these groups is based on the method of halfstructured interview. Issues of the development of musical activities and influences that mattered in this development, a motivation to musical activities, an influence of musical activity on personal life of the respondents (especially in context of relationships), a value and function of a music in an overall value orientation of respondents are compared.
