The media construction of feminity according to women's lifestyle magazines in years 2006 and 2016
Kučerová, Lucie ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Reifová, Irena (referee)
The master thesis The media construction of feminity according to women's lifestyle magazines in years 2006 and 2016 is concerned with values, that women's lifestyle magazines present to women. These values concern with topics such relationships, sexuality, face, health and succees in career. The thesis will examine, in which roles women appear in these magazines. The aim of the thesis is to present a picture of an ideal woman, as the women's lifestyle magazines construct it. The theoretical part is devided into five chapters. The first chapter is focused on historical development of magazine publishing in Czech Republic since 1989. The second chapter describes development of trends in the media content in the last decade. The third part deals with the media and lifestyle magazines ownership. The fourth part introduces a general content of women's lifestyle magazines. The last chapter is focused on the role of women and women's lifestyle magazines in the current society. It discusses e. g. the term "double burden". The analytical part combines qualitative and quantitative content research and its main objective is to describe, how the term feminity and the women values (relationships, sexuality, face, health and career) change in women's lifestyle magazines between years 2006 and 2016. The chosen...
The Odry region after World War II in life stories of its inhabitants
Kučerová, Lucie ; Mücke, Pavel (advisor) ; Kreisslová, Sandra (referee)
This Master's diploma thesis elaborates on the history of Odry region, particularly the period after World War II, when it underwent a significant transformation. The goal od the thesis is to do a thorough micro-historical research of the postwar history of the region with respect to the transformation of the formerly German areas into the reclaimed lands of the Czech nation. It is divided into several chapters. In the first chapter I evaluate the source base to the topic; I investigate various literature related to the transfer of the Germans and the frontier settlement (its regional provenance being taken into account), archival sources and narratives - memories of displaced Germans from the presently analyzed region and several examples of the recorded oral-history interviews. In other six chapters I elucidate the situation of the Odry region in particular periods: in 1938, during World War II, and in the era of the liberation, followed by the transfer of the German population and the process of a new habitation. The last chapter then discusses the postwar Odry region as a home both lost and obtained. The paper provides insight into the postwar transformation of the Odry region in the period after the World War II perusing primarily the memories of those who were directly involved. Key words the...

Cooperation of primary school teachers and the office for social-law protection of children
Kučerová, Lucie ; Šotolová, Eva (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)
TITLE: Cooperation of primary school teachers and the office for social-law protection of children AUTHOR: Lucie Kučerová DEPARTMENT: Department of special education SUPERVISOR: Doc. PaedDr. Eva Šotolová Ph.D. ABSTRACT In the first half of the thesis we define the terms teacher, school methodist for prevention, curator for children and youth. We describe the principles of their cooperation in term of rights of the child and his social-law protection, due to the Act No. 359/199 Coll., social-law protection of children and due to the Decree No. 72/2005 Coll., providing counselling services in schools and school counselling institutions. Simultaneously we are opening the topic of possible moral dilemmas which can the teacher deal with in term of social-law protection of the student. Int he second half we evaluate the results of empirical investigation. The quantitative survey was conducted by questionnaire method in 7 primary schools in Prague. Its main purpose was to chart the extent of primary teachers knowledge about The office for social-law protection of children, to find out what quality is this cooperation and to compare the situation at practical primary schools and mainstream primary schools. The survey conclusion revealed significant lack of knowledge of mainstream primary school teachers in this...
About the apposition in the modern German language
Kučerová, Lucie ; Šemelík, Martin (advisor) ; Maroszová, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with the state of apposition in contemporary German language. The first part gives a definition of the apposition and its characteristics in the existing grammar books and linguistic studies as well as other related topics (classification of the apposition, the use of case, the declination of titles, professions and relatives). It also deals with some chosen aspects (the terminological inconsistency in the specialized literature, the vague state of apposition in the language, the type of als-apposition). The second part is based on a corpus analysis (DeReKo) which investigates the correctness of the rules about the declination of titles and professions from the grammar books. Keywords: apposition, declination, contemporary German language, the use of case, corpus analysis
Plánování osobní historie virtuálního agenta
Kučerová, Lucie ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Toropila, Daniel (referee)
Episodic memory is an important component of "minds" of many longliving virtual agents, because equipping such an agent with his personal history increases his e ciency and believability. So far, research on episodic memory modeling in the context of these agents has focused mostly on producing the memory content on-line, that is, when the agent is being simulated. In this work, we address a complementary issue, automatic generation of the memory content off-line. We see a possible need of a tool for generating memories that anticipate the start of the simulation. Hence we created a complex design method enabling a designer to specify high-level requirements on an agent's history and use planning to automatically generate this history according to these requirements. We detail the structure of the high-level language used for the description of the requirements and the part of this method that concerns itself with the planning. In a set of experiments, we tested the performance of several planners on our task and we present here the results we gained.
A toolkit for simulating wolf pack
Kučerová, Lucie ; Holan, Tomáš (referee) ; Brom, Cyril (advisor)
The aim of the project is to develop a research tool for a biologist/ethologist interested in wolves. The application simulates life of a pack of six wolves. It implements a simplied model of wolf behaviour. Wolves are simulated by means of autonomous agents. The model includes several parts of wolf ethogram, mainly those that are essential to survive - fi nding prey and water, sleeping etc. Wolves are also able to perform several basic social interactions. To get plausible behavior of wolves, many parameters must be set, for example the quantity of prey or the period of starving after which a wolf critically needs to feed. One part of the work was also to find rates of these parameters which ensure that the model will not embody huge abnormalities (i.e. incapability of wolves to survive for a longer period of time).
Europeanization of Parliamentary Parties in Czech republic
Kučerová, Lucie ; Just, Petr (advisor) ; Novák, Miroslav (referee)
The process of the European integration finalized institution-wise by the EU presents an evergreen discussion topic of virtually all the areas of social studies. One out of many consequences of this phenomenal integration scheme of the modern times is the topic of europeanization of the national structures of the single member states. This thesis is focused on discovering the rate of europeanization and analyzing the overall attitude of the parties represented in the parliament of the Czech Republic. As the research on europeanization is struggling with methodological and terminological ambiguity, the first chapters of the thesis are devoted to the overview of the most important conceptions, models and approaches in relation to the europeanization topic. There is also space for the phenomena related to the europeanization process (euroscepticism, political parties on the EU level and so on). The specific analytical frame reflecting the main criteria of the research of the Czech political parties is consequently introduced based on the detailed description of terms and concepts. Europeanization is assessed in the minimalistic way - as process closely related to the existence of the EU. The europeanization process itself is then understood as a reflection of the European integration in the domestic...
Adenosine signaling in Drosophila
KUČEROVÁ, Lucie
This thesis characterizes adenosine signalization in Drosophila and describes response to adenosine in various cell types. Extracellular adenosine mediates most of its physiological effects through its receptors but recent data also indicate that adenosine transport also has important physiological functions. It was shown in this thesis that adenosine stimulates only cAMP second messenger system in Drosophila cells endogenously expressing AdoR. The pharmacological profile of the DmAdoR was established using the cAMP functional assay. The utility of the agonist 2-chloroadenosine and antagonist SCH58261 were examined in flies in vivo and compared with phenotypes of DmAdoR mutants. The responses of Drosophila cells to adenosine mediated by adenosine transport were also examined. Different cell types exhibited striking differences in adenosine uptake and adenosine recycling that were closely connected with the regulation of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. This thesis provides an important foundation for the study of interactions between adenosine receptor and adenosine transport.
The influence that has volunteering on professional apply
KUČEROVÁ, Lucie
In my thesis, I focused on the effects of volunteering on professional employment chances of graduates. The theoretical part is devoted to volunteering, its kinds, and its importance to the personal development of volunteers. The other half of the theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to jobs and their comparison with volunteering. My objective was to find out whether employers prefer, when selecting their employees, graduates who have experience and skills from volunteering, and how this experience is viewed by employers in the non-profit sector as compared with employers outside the sector. I used the method of questioning, the technique of questionnaires, and controlled interviews. The results were elaborated in graphical form with absolute figures and tables using the chi square statistical test. The results of this thesis have confirmed my initial hypotheses, namely that employers prefer graduates with experience from volunteering and that the experience from volunteering of graduates is evaluated as an important element in recruitment, especially by non-profit sector employers. A following step to improve understanding of volunteering by employers would be, I my opinion, to suggest changes to legislation that would help organizations make better use of volunteer assistance. I would like to suggest to volunteers themselves to record better their volunteering activities so that they can use such materials as an attachment to their CV{\crq}s when applying for a job.
