Toráčová, Emma ; Strouhal, Martin (advisor) ; Koťa, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is a detailed analysis of family and social factors that contribute significantly to the amount of education a person has attained. The primary focus of the thesis is on the family, the socio-economic environment of the family or the education of the parents, which I consider to be the most relevant in the question of influence on educational attainment. Among the secondary, additional factors, the thesis mentions social influence as a part of a person's life in the school or extended family environment. In addition to immediate family members, parents in particular, the views and attitudes of peers, friends, relatives, as well as the school, also influence a person to no small extent. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the family, as the basic structure unit of human socialisation, from different perspectives. It discusses the distinctiveness of each family's socio-economic environment and the capital that is given and forwarded to its offsprings. Parents are the main factor in the family environment who are involved in their children's educational success, which is confirmed and further analysed by the theories contained in this section of the thesis. Last but not least, the conclusion of the theoretical part of the thesis discusses the role of the...

For the purpose of the thesis, contemporary education means the post-revolutionary period of Czechoslovakia and subsequently of the Czech Republic. To understand the context of the criticisms, the thesis briefly maps the development of the Czech education system with emphasis on the period of establishment of the compulsory education system and its subsequent changes in the historical context. Mičínová, Ivana ; Koťa, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Starý, Karel (referee) ; Slavík, Milan (referee)
The aim of the dissertation is to explore approaches to learning in the environment of a seminar paper through descriptive-exploratory analysis of perceptions of university teachers and students. We focus on how teachers plan and implement the processes of assigning a seminar paper, how they select of topics and types of assignments, use them in classroom practices and provide feedback and assessment. For the purposes of operationalization of the basic concepts, we developed a working typology of assignments. We interpret specific teaching strategies based on the models of learning and teaching approaches described in the theoretical part to find out how teachers explicitly or implicitly support a deep approach to learning, i.e. what teaching strategies lead to a strong interest in understanding the field, and conversely, which strategies lead to the mere reproduction of knowledge without a broader context in order to make minimal efforts to obtain assessment, or even resort to plagiarism. We confronted these results with students' perceptions to verify how they respond to each of the strategies. We found that an a deep approach to learning in writing a seminar paper is supported by a complex and demanding project assignment, which solves specific problems of real practice, is relevantly integrated...

Knechtová, Zdeňka ; Koťa, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kyasová, Miroslava (referee) ; Tomová, Šárka (referee)
38 Summary The aims of the research presented in this thesis were twofold: (a) to evaluate how master's students in intensive care nursing reflect theoretical and practical teaching and (b) to identify whether selected factors (a form of study, focus of reflection and time) are related to the level of reflective skills of the students. The research included 39 full-time and part- time students of the master's program Intensive Care at the Masaryk University Faculty of Medicine. The data source was 22 portfolios of full-time students and 17 portfolios of part- time students gathered during four subsequent semesters (from the beginning to completion of the study). A total of 3460 reflective journal records were analyzed. The data were first analyzed quantitatively using the REFLECT rubric analytical tool. Subsequently, a thematic qualitative content analysis of reflections was performed. Quantitative data analysis revealed two key research findings: (a) the students scored relatively low in all assessed reflective skills dimensions, (b) there are differences in reflective skills between full-time and part-time students. Full-time students achieved a higher level of reflective skills than part-time students, and full-time students reflected more in the number of diary entries (compared to part-time students)....
