BROŽKOVÁ, Adéla
This bachelor´s thesis is focused on the old age and ageing as seen through the eyes of three generations. The main objective of this thesis is to compare how particular people from different age groups (age of 20-30 years, 30-50 years, and 50-70 years) perceive their own old age. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the empirical part. Theoretical part is divided into nine subchapters which deal with specific issues of the old age and associated problems. Empirical part deals with the results of the research undertaken for the purpose of this thesis. The main research question was: "In what aspects the view of old age among the generations differs most markedly? " For obtaining the necessary information, the strategy of qualitative research was chosen and performed with the using of open coding. The data were collected through the semi-structured interviews and the research sample was selected by using purpose quota selection. The research participants were people from different age groups age of 20-30 years, 30-50 years, and 50-70 years. The research sample consisted of twelve participants who were willing to participate in the research. The research was performed in two phases preliminary research and research itself. The interviews were recorded on a dictaphone and transcribed verbatim. The data were analysed with the using of categorization. Based on the research, the view of old age is most markedly different between the age groups 20-30 years and 50-70 years. The age group 30 -50 years in most cases agreed either with younger or older age group. The greatest differences of opinion among particular generations were in the questions of how retirees perceive today's young generation, in the view of need for education of retirees, further also in the opinions regarding the employment opportunity for elderly people or how society treats the elderly people. The results of this bachelor´s thesis can be used to provide insight of how people see the old age and to increase the general awareness of how to work and deal better with the elderly. This thesis can also serve as educational material for students and teachers.

Diploma thesis called "Digital Generation. Involvement of Information and Communication Technology in Educational Process" is focused on the role of computers in a life of adolescents. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is evolving very fast and transform our everyday life. The aims of the thesis are (1) to explore the change of "digital generation" in Czech society in the beginning of 21 century, (2) to find out if there is a correlation between playing computer games and school results and (3) to identify which factors influence computer literacy. In order to achieve those aims, the comparative secondary analysis of international researches of pupils PISA 2003, 2012 and research focused on computer and information literacy - ICILS 2013were used. The results suggest that between 2003 and 2013 digital possession and using of ICT by fifteen year old pupils increased, so digital generation Y and Z were identified in Czech society. Playing of computer games remains domain of boys. Computer and information literacy increases with experience with computers, self- esteem of basic computer skills and with a higher society status of parents. Forms of representations of czechoslovakian historians in first half of twentieth century. Václav Chaloupecký (1882 - 1951), Fridolín Macháček (1884 - 1954), Josef Pešek (1878 - 1958)
Sixta, Václav ; Štaif, Jiří (advisor) ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee)
The thesis is dealing with the term "representation of historian" on the example of czechoslovakian historiography of the first half of twentieth century. For understanding of this work is important the context of my bachelor thesis, which dealed with the same problem using quantitative approaches on Kulturní adresář (Culture adressary) written by Antonín Dolenský. This thesis is an antropologization of the same issue in the meaning og underscoring the multiplicity of representations and its independence on the macroperspective of usual interpretations of czechoslovakian historiography. This perspective is enabled by choosen sources, which are texts of three historians - schoolmates, who studied together field of study history - geography on the Faculty of arts of Charles university. But their careers had differnt ways. Fridolín Macháček was during his whole professional life connected with Plzeň and its archive, Josef Pešek was teacher on high school in Prague (Akademické gymnázium) and historian of east bohemia and last but not least Václav Chaloupecký archivist in Roudnice nad Labem, professor of czekoslovakian history at university in Bratislava and than in Prague. The advantage of these sources is possibility to focus on the term "representation of historian" like a result of process of...

Trusinová, Romana ; Plecitá, Klára (advisor) ; Rabušic, Ladislav (referee) ; Vidovičová, Lucie (referee)
This paper focuses on ageism between extreme age groups of the adult population in the Czech Republic in an international comparison. It builds on the findings regarding the extent of the problem of ageism and the increasing importance of age as a social characteristic in modern societies. The objective is to enrich the traditional exploration of ageism as a problem relating to seniors with an analysis of mutual intergenerational relationships. Using the perspective of social identity theory, the relationships between young people and seniors are described as the result of the forming process of the own age and generational identities of young people and seniors and the mutual comparison and estranging of these groups. To answer the research questions regarding the methods of forming identities of the youth and age and the sources of mutual ageism, an analysis of qualitative interviews with young people and seniors and quantitative data from two international surveys (European Social Survey Round 4 and the International Social Survey Programme 2013) were used. Analyses in the empirical section show that ageism is more common in the Czech Republic than in other European country, and they also indicate the specific sources of ageism in the Czech environment. The importance of mutual expectations...
