The Character of Water Sprite in Czech Literature of the 19th Century

This work has an analytical-interpretative character. The analytical part contains an analysis of individual pieces of czech literature of the 19th century and folk stories which contain the water-spirit character. There is also a brief introduction of the method. The character and look of a water-spirit is analysed according to the theory of a literary character by Daniela Hodrová or Bohumil Fořt. The interpretative part looks on the problematics of a water-sprite as on a relationship between a male and female characters. The suggested options of an interpretation are merged using a psychoanalytic approach.
Concept of role of classmates from the perspective of adolescent girls and boys

in English This thesis deals with the conception of classmate's roles from the perspective of adolescent girls and boys. Thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part introduces the subject in terms of developmental and social psychology and gender studies. In the first half of theoretical part I follow up the social aspects of the classmate's role and conceive it within the class and peer group. Certain space is also devoted to establishing the relationships between girls and boys. The second half of theoretical section reflects adolescence as a specific developmental period, in which I focus on occurring biological, mental and social changes. Whole theory is penetrated by gender perspective focussing on comparison of girl or boy adolescence. Introducing the process of gender roles creation and the significance of femininity and masculinity completes the theoretical part. The empirical part includes research of role concept within the 9th class of primary school. Presenting average images of pupils about the ideal classmate (girl and boy) I highlight the gender aspects of mentioned role. Gender at basic schools for hearing impaired

Bachelor thesis deals with gender and gender stereotypes on basic school for children with hearing impairment in the area of relationships and communication between teachers and pupils and between pupils mutually. Theoretical part is divided into two parts. The first part of theoretical part deals with defining basic terms, which relate to gender issues, ie. term of gender, gender stereotypes, gender roles etc. Furthermore, this part deals with gender in school. The second part is dedicated to a person with hearing impairment, its development and its effect on the personality. It also deals with the basic education of people with hearing impairment. These two parts are connected the chapter, which deals with gender, education and disabilities. Practical part deals with concrete areas related to the relationships and communication between pupils and students and between pupils mutually. To explore gender stereotypes in this area this thesis uses the qualitative analysis of data obtained through observation of teaching at the school for children with hearing impaired and structured interview with teachers.
Power in organizations from the perspective of gender

The submitted bachelor thesis summarizes the knowledge and findings concerning the issue of leadership styles viewed from the perspective of gender. The aim of the thesis is to find out if there are any distinguishing characteristics in the way males and females perform in managerial posts, namely if males and females differ in their leadership styles. First the issue is explored theoretically within the framework of the theory of organization and management, namely within the context of the theoretical concept of power in organisations and leadership styles, and the theory of gender. The core analytical part is based on the empirical research on male and female leadership styles carried out mainly in English speaking countries, and research performed in the Czech environment.
Sexuality in advertisements in women's magazines in Czech republic 2009-2011

Bachelor thesis "Sexuality in advertisements in women's magazines in the Czech Republic in 2009-2011"describes issues of sexuality in print advertisement in women's lifestyle magazines Elle, Cosmopolitan and Marianne. The thesis is divided into theoretical and analytical part. The theoretical part gives the definition of the sexuality in advertisement and presents its classification, explains the concept in framework of the social constructionism theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann and also deals with ethical issues of sexuality in advertising, its current condition and effectiveness of use of sexuality in advertisement. The research strives to answer the questions about the way the sexuality is presented in advertising and how frequently it is used in it. Selected printed advertisements are the subjects to the descriptive analysis, which is used to define the character of sexual behavior and the type of a sexual presentation of women, which appear in advertisements most often. This thesis reflects the concept of sexuality in advertisement both in terms of marketing and in the broader socio-cultural context.
