Time-space mobility of university students in Ceske Budejovice

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of time-space mobility of university students in the town Ceske Budejovice. The research was conducted on the basis of data collection through three methods, combining various approaches to time-space mobility. The first method used was questionnaire research representing traditional way of collecting information. The modern methods category was represented by GPS loggers and smartphone devices operating through the motion capture applications. The aim was a qualitative comparison of these methods in practice and further evaluation of their potential benefits for time-space research. Furthermore, the main focus is on the overall analysis of time-space mobility of university students in urban environment of Ceske Budejovice, with emphasis on the concept of bundles. Individual results are supported by images and maps created in geographic information systems. The final chapter summarizes the acquired findings and the resulting measurements of time-space mobility of university students in Ceske Budejovice.

Image of Nike Brand among university students

This thesis is about research of image Nike in Czech Republic by the student of universities. It is finding answers how the brand is perceive in Czech Republic. How people know its products and promotion campaigns. The theory part is mainly about important definitions for my work. Like brand, image or promotion and I write about marketing research in the methodology part Practical part is about marketing research. In this work is used electronic questionary. Some recommendations how to improve the image of Nike are in this work.

Cannabis drugs among students of Prague medical faculties: prevalence of use and related risk behaviour

Objectives : The main goal of this work is to find out prevalence of use cannabis drugs among students of medical faculties in Prague and also find out a relationship between cannabis drugs abuse and risk behaviour. Sample : The research sample consisted of 686 medical students First, Second and Third faculty of Medecine of Charles University in Prague. The main criterium for entry into the research was that students had to be enrolled in first through fifth year of medicine. Students of medicine sixth grade were excluded from research because of their limited time schedule, which related to their studies. Methods : Research was provided by quantitative methods - questionnaire, which was structured and anonymous Results : It was found that lifetime prevalence of cannabis use among medical students compared with the earlier results of different studies significantly increased. The prevalence of cannabis use over the past 12 months was higher in men than in women. It was confirmed that men on average achieve higher scores on the CAST questionnaire, which maps the risk behavior regarding the use of cannabis. Concept of parenthood by university students

The bachelor thesis tries to map opinions, attitudes and values of current University students. The main purpose of this work is to find out how University students understand the topic of parenthood. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with research and knowledge about current family and it's transformations after the year 1989. Also covers how far is family accepted and supported by contemporary society; also examine how is family affected by economic changes, how the interpersonal relations changed and what value has the child for today's family. The next section of the theoretical part deals with the topic parenthood. Parenthood is debated from the point of view of the parents as well from point of view of the child. Parenthood is also viewed in a historical context, whereby change must always be taken into consideration. There is mentioned arrival of contraception and thanks to it also the arrival of possibility to separate sexual and reproductive life which have changed the relationship to parenthood significantly. Finally the last chapter focuses on the University students. What are they studying and the duration. Didactic games and their application in geology teaching at primary school

The presented master thesis describes methods of geology teaching at primary school and deals with the motivation of pupils in a connection with the application of a didactic game in teaching of geology and/or nature science. Data source was sampled via questionnaire in three groups of the respondents, i.e., teachers of geology (nature science), with 9th class pupils of primary school and university students of teaching training in biology. The theoretical part includes general data concerning motivation of pupils, teaching methods and a didactic game. The practical part contains methodology of the research, results of quantitative analysis and the author's didactic computer game which was tested and evaluated by the respondents. The obtained results show that the majority of pupils do not like geology however the integration of the didactic games in lessons can be increased pupil's interest in geology. The research has also found that university students have a different opinion on the teaching of geology than practising teachers. For example university students think that the unpopularity of geology among pupils is caused by teacher's personality, but according to opinion of the teachers it is caused by a general lack of attractivity of the subject. Similarly, the students accused the teacher of insufficient use of didactic games in geology teaching, but the teachers do not integrate didactic games in geology teaching due to lack of time.

Ethics in Advertising

The main goal of this thesis is to determine university students’ attitudes towards ethics of advertising in the Czech Republic. In order to attain this goal, an empiric survey will be conducted among students by means of questionnaire inquiring. The theoretic part of the thesis deals generally with the concepts of ethics and advertising and their position and importance in the Czech Republic, the following part then provides examples of unethical advertisements from the Czech and foreign practices. The result of inquiring will be the establishment of the rate of tolerance or non-tolerance of respondents towards ethics of advertising in the Czech Republic and their subsequent formulation in the form of recommendations for involved groups. The thesis and its results will be submitted to the advertising agency and graphical studio GAD STUDIO s.r.o. with its registered seat in Brno. Its results will also be provided as feedback to the Czech Advertising Standards Council.

Attitudes of university students towards diversity management

This thesis deals with diversity and diversity management. The aim of this work is to analyze how are young people affected by supporting diversity and implementation of diversity management by the company and see what awareness students have of diversity and diversity management, what attitude have young people towards diversity in the workplace and opinions of young people on discrimination in the workplace. Quantitative research was chosen as analysis method. The students of economics were selected as target group. Research has shown that students have a very good knowledge of diversity. Awareness of diversity management among students and graduates is relatively high but only few of them have met with this concept in practice. Most of students think that diversity management has a positive effect on the performance of the company and they consider increasing creativity and innovation of employees as the biggest advantage of this concept. When choosing a job offer companies which promote diversity of employees are considered more attractive.

Czech-Mexican and Mexican-Czech cultural standards in the study environment

The main objective of the thesis is to define a Czech-Mexican and Mexican-Czech cultural standards focused on students. The findings are compared with the theory of cultural standards by Ivan Nový. Identification of cultural standards is studied on the basis of the cultural standards method of Alexander Thomas based on an analysis of recurring conflict situations. The data collection was carried out through qualitative interviews with Czech having experience studying in Mexico and Mexican who studied in the Czech Republic. The research aims to analyse the differences in the approach to the time, the perception of authorities and difference in the meaning of education of Mexicans and Czechs. In the end, research findings provide recommendations for Czechs planning to study in Mexico as well as for Mexicans who wish to study in the Czech Republic.
