The aim of this bachelor work is put on the mapping of the whole process of choosing middle education. The focus is on the level of difficulty of this process and whether there is any dilemma present. The research was performed with students of the last year of elementary school and high school students, who evaluated the whole process retrospectively and from the further distance than elementary school students. Theoretical part of the work is shortly characterizing adolescent period where the students of choosing process belong. Further on the work considers the details of this choosing process where can be found motivation factors, choosing process, occupation choice and decision dilemma. Considerable part of theoretical work is dealing with environmental determinants, which have direct impact on the students' choice. Theoretical part ends with problematic issues that can appear during choosing process. Empiric part is then based on the most important persons in making a choice, on the important units during choosing process, and how the students cope with turning to next level school. The whole research has a qualitative character. From the methods used in the empiric part of work prevails interview, and that was done with 11 students who have already undergone the choosing process. After...
The concept of consciousness its components and functions in the process of system functioning in the understanding of Karl Wolfgang Deutsch
Pulicar, Miroslav ; Váňa, Tomáš (advisor) ; Franěk, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the concept of political consciousness in the understanding of the German political scientist and international relations theorist Karl Wolfgang Deutsch. In the first, theoretical section it introduces some existing approaches and conceptualizations of consciousness in political science. Consequently, it provides an essential introduction to Deutsch's communications theory, its basic points and some crucial concepts, such as information, feedback, memory, or will. The aim of this section is to outline the specifics of Deutsch's communication-based approach to the analysis of political systems and provide context for the main subject of this thesis. After general introduction it deals with the very concept of consciousness. Through the analysis of Deutsch's pivotal work The Nerves of Government it outlines theoretical foundations of his concept, defines its functions and significance within the political system, connects it with other concepts of Deutsch's theory and marks some differences compared to approaches of other political scientists. In the second, practical section theoretical considerations developed in the previous section are on the basis of qualitative research applied on the specific political system. The aim of the research is to explain some of the...

Subsequently, the selected proved strategies and techniques of persuasion are mentioned - visual, verbal, cognitive and strategies related with Cialdini's principles. There is also incorporated the intercultural view on persuasion and the topic of ethics in persuasion is included as well. The second part presents a proposal for a research - an experiment, whose aim would be to compare two chosen techniques of persuasion.

The application of mathematical decisions in to crisis managment
LEPIČ, Daniel
The aim of the thesis was to design an optimal solution to a specific problem using a mathematical decision-making and to create an overview of basic mathematical decision-making methods that can be effectively used in solving practical decision-making task which is a part of the practical part of the bachelor thesis. The thesis's contribution lies in a structured process of selected methods which can be applied to any decision-making problem. While using these methods, we can make more effective decisions and therefore discover the optimal solution to the given problem. A research question was set for the purpose of fulfilling the goal: What is the optimal solution to a specific problem using a mathematical decision-making in crisis management? The thesis was divided into a theoretical part where you can get acquainted with the general theory of multi-criteria decision-making and a practical part where a specific decision-making example is stated and explained in detail. The theoretical part of the thesis was based on the research of publications and foreign scientific articles dealing with the problematics of multi-criteria decision-making. The first chapter analysed the decision-making as a term. Following chapters looked into multi-criteria decision-making, determining the weight of criteria, establishing the order of variants and using these methods in practice. The practical part of the thesis dealt with the application of these methods to a fictitious example. An automobile required for the commander of the region's fire brigade station was chosen for the purpose of demonstrating these methods. It describes the methodology of the research where individual processes and activities for finding the optimal solution of the decision-making problem were set. The research part of the thesis consisted in determining the criteria and its weight, making an automotive market research in the Czech Republic for the choice of a variant, using selected methods of multi-criteria decision-making and finding the optimal solution.
Factors underlying parental decisions about childood vaccination
Kočišová, Eva ; Podaná, Zuzana (advisor) ; Hamplová, Dana (referee)
The presented thesis deals with the issue of mothers' decision-making in relation to their child's vaccination against pneumococcal infections. An on-line survey of mothers was conducted (n = 180) in order to obtain data for the theoretical model based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). A hierarchical logistic regression was then performed in order to analyze the model with the intention to vaccinate as the dependent variable. The results of the regression analyses were supplemented by results of correlation analyses and non-parametric tests. The theory proved itself as a strong predictive instrument and the results suggest that the attitude is the main predictor of the decision in this non-representative sample of mothers. The subjective norm, as the second construct of the TPB, contributes only in certain case and the perceived behavioral control was not found influential at all. The perception of thread of contraindications of the vaccine proves also influential next to the attitude. The beliefs that mothers hold about the vaccine were analyzed according to mothers intentions to vaccinate (n = 70) or not to (n = 110). These results support the idea that mothers, especially those who do not want to vaccinate their children against pneumococcal infections, decide particularly according to...
Council of the EU after Lisbon treaty: changes in gualified majority decision-making and their influence on the positions of member states
Kučera, Václav ; Plechanovová, Běla (advisor) ; Karlas, Jan (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the impact of a new system of qualified majority voting under the Lisbon Treaty on the position of member states in the Council. The paper mainly deals with potential transformation of member states weight in the Council. With the help of so-called power indexes, the absolute and relative voting power of member states in the Council will be determined. In the first part of the thesis, qualified majority is introduced also in the historical development, i.e., how its form ranged from the emergence of the European Communities to the present. Emphasis is of course placed on detailed description of the key articles of the Lisbon Treaty, relating to qualified majority voting in the Council. The answer to the question whether the new criteria of qualified majority will mean a different result of the vote in the Council, can be found in the fourth chapter of this thesis. An important element of analysis of qualified majority under the Lisbon Treaty is its comparison with the Nice system in terms of fairness and efficiency. At the conclusion of this thesis, the historical development of the expansion of qualified majority voting in the Council at the expense of unanimity is included. Identification of those states which were most often in the past, when voting by...
Decision Making of Nurses in Intensive Care
Vyskotová, Jana ; Marková, Eva (advisor) ; Prošková, Eva (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to find which factors prevail to influence the decisions that nurses make in intensive care and on what basis they decide. The work is divided into theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part the terms such as decision, decision-making situations, mistakes in decision-making have been determined, and the issues concerning the decisions in nursing and in the competences of nurses connected with decisions have been analysed. In the empirical part the results of questionary regarding the decisions of nurses in intensive care have been processed and analysed. 97 subjects among the nurses in intensive care have taken part in the testing. From the analysis of the data received from the questionary there comes out that the majority of nurses in intensive care (74 %) are not convinced that the school has prepared them for making decisions from both the theoretical and practical point of view. On contrary, the majority of nurses in intensive care are convinced that their education (79 %) and practice (97 %) may enable decisions. The majority of nurses in intensive care (96 %) are able to make independent decisions mostly in the area of basic nursing care. The majority of nurses in intensive care (72 %) experience stress during their decision-making. The nurses are...
