Creation and Use of Didactic Games in Czech Language Lessons for the 3rd Grade of Elementary School

The diploma thesis focuses on the creation and use of didactic games in the teaching of Czech language for the 3rd year of primary school. The main aim was to find out what attitudes 3rd grade primary school teachers have towards didactic games in Czech language classes through a selected set of didactic games. Another aim was to find out how 3rd grade primary school students perceive the use of didactic games in Czech language classes. Furthermore, I also focused on resources from which teachers can draw inspiration for their teaching. The specific task was to create a set of didactic games, which is referred to in the main aim of the thesis. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters in which I discuss play, didactic play and the creation and use of didactic play. In the practical part, I created a set of didactic games from which the research unfolded. For the research investigation, I chose qualitative research, using semi-structured interviews with teachers and a questionnaire with 3rd grade primary school pupils as data collection methods. The analyzed data allowed me to answer the predetermined research questions and meet the objectives of the thesis. Slang in Gastronomy in Selected Parts of Czech Republic

This Bachelor thesis deals with slang in the branch of gastronomy. The introduction sets out the objectives and methods. Hypotheses are also established. The theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis focuses on the interpretation of slang in general terms, an introduction to the interpretations of some Czech linguists and the current lexicographic form of the dictionary. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of collected data, which was obtained by questionnaire and guided interview. The slang expression is examined mainly according to the method of creation. At the end of the work, the hypotheses established in the introductory part are confirmed or refuted.
The specifics of television road cycling commentary - comparative analysis of linguistic features used in live streams from the Tour de France

The main goal of this work is to analyze the linguistic features of road cycling commentary, as used by the Czech television's commentator Tomáš Jílek, and to observe the changes, that may have occurred in the ten years, that Czech television broadcasts the cycling race of Tour de France. The author firstly focuses on Czech linguistic theory, follows up with the theory of sports journalism and describes the specifics of spoken language used in the journalistic field. Furthermore, the author specifies concrete linguistic features, on which she then focuses in the analysis. The theoretical findings are thereafter applied and demonstrated in the analytic part of the work, which is focused on two race days selected from the Tour de France. Last but not least, the author compares the linguistic aspects of both commentaries and states other interesting outcomes of the analysis.
Intonation of Czech Speakers When Speaking English

Intonace je často popisována jakožto pohyb výšek v mluvené řeči, který člověku pomáhá se slovním vyjádřením svých myšlenek. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá možnými obtížemi s intonací, se kterými se může Čech setkat při mluvení anglicky, neboť mohou vést ke změně významu ním vyřčených slov. Cílem práce je se tyto potíže pokusit rozlišit, a to vysvětlením základních pojmů spojených s intonací, a jejich aplikací při porovnání nahrávek hlasů desíti Čechů vyslovujících osm anglických frází s nahrávkami stejných frází namluvenými čtyřmi rodilými mluvčími.
Using Board Games in the Czech Language Lessons in Primary School

The aim of my diploma thesis is to enrich the first stage with aids that can be used effectively in Czech language lessons, it will be possible to easily modify and use them across the first stage of basic education, at the same time it will entertain pupils and motivate them in further education. These are board games, which are described in more detail in the last paragraph. The first half of the work is theoretically focused. It explains the definition of the game from various sources, draws attention to the importance of the game in human life and how it develops individual skills. It also presents the history of board games. Here you will also find an explanation of individual concepts related to games and the school environment. It includes a justification of the didactic potential of board games in Czech language lessons. Last but not least, there is also a short analysis of the part of the FEP related to the Czech language with comments on how the outputs can be fulfilled or key competencies can be developed through board games. Activating methods of e-learning of Czech language in secondary schools during compulsory online learning

This diploma thesis is focused on activating methods in online teaching of the Czech language and literature. The theoretical part includes an explanation of the concept of e-learning and clarifies the context of the start of compulsory distance education in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the thesis deals with activating methods and their division. The thesis divides axtivating methods into debating, situational, staging, didactic games and herustic. The practical part of the thesis is focused on action research. The aim was to find out how it is possible to transform activating methods into e-learning of Czech language and literature. Part of the research was finding resources that can be used to fulfill the various activating methods in e-learning and to examine amount of their effectiveness in teaching. Main research has been provided by active observations and making notes into pedagogical diary. Through observation, the thesis shows specific teaching methods and evaluates their effectiveness in the online environment oin secondary school ArtEcon Prague. Possessive adjectives - interaction between nominal and hard adjectival inflection

The aim of this work is to complete the view of the Czech gramatics and other studies to the language question of the intraction of possesive adjectives and find out, how the Czech publicists working in chosen commercial media verse in this question of language. In a teoretical part we tried to sum up a picture of possesive adjectives in circumstance Czech linguistics, in a practical part we explained how we approach to the creation of our questionnaire about the use of possessive adjectives of chosen publicists and we described the results of our survey. The main finding was that our respondents tend to answer registry and prefer possessive adjectives before the genitive. This work is beneficial because it summarizes the knowledge referred to in grammars on the subject of possesive adjectives and shows how Czech writers of selected periodicals versed in issues of possessive adjectives.
Formation and use of agentiv nouns in contemporary czech and polish language

This thesis focusses on the issue of feminine gender agentive nouns formation and use in contemporary Polish, with respect to analogical phenomena in Czech. The theoretical part of the thesis sketches the form and the manner of derivation of the feminine counterparts of agentive nouns, subsequently analysing their socio- political implications (the opposition between masculine and feminine gender, various views concerning the asymmetry in their usage). In contemporary Polish, two antagonistic trends can be delineated, one tabooing and blocking the derived forms, the other, on the contrary, upholding and promoting them. In general, feminine forms are widely used for designations of jobs with lower social prestige; conversely, with respect to professions and honorifics viewed as prestigious, feminization is sparse, and, outside the feminist coterie, viewed as unnatural, inappropriate, even belittling. There are also quite a few nouns that undergo derivation only selectively. This state of affairs is evaluated as substantially different from that in Czech, a language in which feminization is common and normally unmarked. Critical points in the Czech language at elementary school

The thesis deals with the critical points of teaching Czech language at the elementary school. The aim of the work was to identify the citical points of teaching Czech language to the sixth grade of the elementary level. The identification of the critical points was done through a qualitative analysis of the discussions lead with teachers of Czech language. The theoretical part of the work characterizes the Czech language curriculum in the sixth grade and its didactic apporoach in commonly used textbooks. Conceptions, such as the cricital point and the mistake are defined. The practical part of the work contains the analysis and the interpretation of the discussions carried out with the teachers. The program Altas.ti was used for the evaluation of the obtained data. The critical points of Czech language in the sixth grade of the elementary school were found to be the phenomena in the realm of syntax, morphology, and spelling. In the realm of syntax, the critical spots of the greatest weight were: the ability to think logically, the knowledge of the basic linguistic phenomena, the understanding of the syntactic relationships and the terminology.
