Chemistry Implementation as Attractive Scientific Discipline for Pupils

POSPÍŠILOVÁ PETRA: Chemistry Implementation as Attractive Scientific Discipline for Pupils. Bachelor`s Thesis. Prague: Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, Department of Teaching & Didactics of Chemistry 2011. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to detach chemistry curriculum from its stereotypical image of dull subject and bring it close to students as an essential element of everyday life. The first part deals with the problem of popularization of chemistry and a variety of didactic means and principles of their creating, which are used in Czech schools. In the practical part of the thesis an interactive Web sites focused on carboxylic acids were made, which offer a depersonalized world of chemistry in a funny way for students and it provids teachers with modern teaching aid. A set of worksheets with the author's answers is a part of these websites as well as powerpoint presentation "Carboxylic acids around us" and suggested experiments that are designed to link theoretical knowledge of students with practical skills and bring chemical aspects of everyday life naturally to them.

Boarding houses and its usage for students of dance conservatories

This bachelor´s thesis describes which accommodation options are offered by chosen Prague dance conservatories to their commuting students. The first theoretical part of the thesis introduces the structure of the Czech educational system where the conservatories for eight years (from the educational institutions) are closely analysed and the boarding houses (from the educational facilities) as well. Also, there are characteristics of the development period of adolescence which is the age of the conservatories´ students. The second practical part analyses the results of the research work which was done by using questionnaires for students not living in Prague, visiting two chosen schools -The Prague Dance Centre and The Conservatory of the capital of Prague. The processed information was used for the verification of the assigned hypothesis and for getting a more compact view on the extremely demanding life period of commuting students.

Preschool children's sport activities through eyes of parents

The Bachelor thesis is focused on sport activities of preschool children. The theoretical part deals with the healthy lifestyle, the motion in the relationship to pre-schoolers, their attitude to sport activity and the impact of an early specialization. The research follows up the views of parents on sport activities of their children study focus on the view of the parents on sport activities of their children, or more precisely on their real motivation to them and at the same time it shows parental expectations. The research observation will be held in the nursery school located in small village close to České Budějovice, the gathered data will be evaluated quantitatively. The goal of this research is to determine the authentic motivation of parents lead their preschool children to a sport activity.

Problems Related to a Child's Entry into a Kindergarten

The work deals with the possibilities of how to facilitate the entry of a child into a kindergarten, opinions and remarks made by his/her patents, how they perceive their child at this time, what they expect, what they are concerned about, observations of his/her teachers and the suitability of an adaptation programme. The specifics of a child at the age of 3 to 4 years, his/her psychological development, temperament and needs, further the present trends of the family in relationship to the child upon entry into the kindergarten, the forms of cooperation, their influence on the present pre-school facility and the adaptation programme of the kindergarten, are described in the theoretical part. The practical part contains the ascertainment based on interrogatories. At the very close of the discussion there are some considerations on the ascertained facts and possibilities of facilitating the entry of a child from the parts of both the family and the kindergarten.

The basic document here deals with the changes made by US government and their comparison with set of laws from the time of the Great Depression. This comparison results into proposal of some further changes. The last part deals with the systematic flaw of credit expansion a offers a solution based on principles of the Austrian school modified to correspond more closely with current system

The Safer Internet Programme and the possibilities of its application in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the Safer Internet Programme of European Union and to describe possibilities of its implementation in the Czech Republic. In the introductory chapter the thesis analyses the European approach to a safer internet, describes its history and emphasizes its main aims and objectives. The chapter also briefly presents particular projects and events held within the Safer Internet Programme. Furthermore describes European Self- Regulation Frames focused on the safe mobile phone and social networking webs usage. The second part of the thesis is devoted to exploring a safe internet in the Czech Republic. Attention is above all paid to educational activities of the Safer Internet National Centre and other institutions. The closing chapter describes the survey (the process and the results) and evaluates the impact of these activities on the selected Prague primary school.

Impact of speaking error correction on learner's self-belief

The thesis titled Impact of speaking error correction on learner's self- belief deals wit error correction by the teacher during speaking activities in English language lessons and how the manner of error correction influence the students' self-belief. The thesis defines the term selfbelief and presents agents that influence self-belief. The family, peers, culture and physical and mental disposition are mentioned. Close attention is paid to the impact of the school. Another part of the thesis defines what an error is and analyzes it from the perspective of its functions, types and causes. The thesis reflects a fundamental role of the error in classroom assessment and describes different teacher responses to the error. The empirical research describes the relationship between students' self-belief and surrounding's reaction to his errors through grounded theory and brings suggestions how students perceive different ways of their error corrections.

The means of acceptability in Czech children's magazines

This thesis surveys the supply o f children's and young people's magazines available on market in the Czech Republic. On basis o f selected samples, the work analyses employed means o f acceptability. The issue is discussed in context o f magazines as a commodity. The study points out the fact that in the present day when safety of many ordinary goods is being scrutinised, there is no mechanism monitoring the quality o f this particular product. That is why this treatise emphasizes the importance o f media education. A focused endeavour toward medial literacy o f children and young people is the only means to a quality improvemem o f magazines on offer. The thesis is closely linked to practical research and offers tangible proposals o f utilizing magazines in preschool and school education. It also fosters an ambition to become a "manual" for parents and educators when selecting suitable magazines for children and young people.
